Pied piper was an old German legend, it's the story of a man who charmed the rats with his flute. Dear God help. I'm a 52 y/o mom & I guess you'd say I'm Baby Army, or so I've been told. I have been addicted to this song for the last week. It continues to play in my head even when I'm not playing it. It is there even when I wake up, which is fine, but now I must !earn Korean, so I can sing along. Singing the few English words & singing ooh ooh ooh & la-la-la in between is just not a workable option any longer. Also, if BTS had been the Pied Piper in the story, I'm sure I would have been among the first rats who perked up their ears & followed them willingly. That freakin' amazing melody! Mercy.

Thank you, you have such a good ear and notice things I haven’t. No official MV I don’t think but with such incredible live performance, who needs it? I hadn’t seen this live performance before and the sound was great but if you have time on your own I’d watch the “ 5th muster” live performance of this, wearing dark shirts, as the performance is more enigmatic I think. The “Dimple” performance with just the vocal line comes before it. So wonderful that you take things back when there’s a transition. Army knows when these things are coming and because honest reactors don’t know when they will happen they often pause in the wrong places which is fine but then miss things because they don’t back up a bit. 👌👏👏👏

This is such an awesome song, the melody is incredible, and the lyrics gently roast Army, it’s funny - and sexy. I think it’s one of their sexiest songs actually…😂 The original story is about the Pied Piper of Hamlin - it’s an old folk tale. The takeaway is basically that the Pied Piper calls the tune - when he plays, he mesmerises/entrances who ever he intends to, and he owns/controls them while he plays. So BTS are the Pied Pipers and Army are the rats/children who are mesmerised… It’s almost like a didgeridoo type of instrument at the end… Thank you 🙏💜

JK does almost all the back vocals, he records the song before the others and they listen to the guide then add there own. He also does most ad libs in songs and use to rap in the early days. He takes the place of the other members can perform

he doesn't do "almost all" bg vocals. he does a lot of them of course, but let's not disregard Jimin who's been doing crazy stuff in the background since their debut and the rapline (particularly Joon and Hobi) who often do lower harmonies. also JK doesn't do all the guides, we have at least a few confirmed RM guides

I love that you noticed the pipe playing in the background. 💜 BTS are the Pied Pipers distracting the Armys away from their office or school work thus annoying parents and the bosses. Its a humourous diss at Armys and they sang the live at their Fan Meeting called Muster. It is based on the tale Pied Piper of Hammelin.

That twangy sound you hear, esp at the end is actually a mouth harp which in the original tale of the Pied Piper of Hamlin is the instrument the rat catcher uses to lure the children away (the original tale is called The Rat Catcher of Hamlin in Germany - Rattenfäger von Hameln).

The first it begins JK's vocals I ,think you can read his name Jungkook because I got the idea you don't know the name when you are referring to his parts he is the one who does most parts and adlibs and harmonising , he sings throughout many parts with others too though cam not on him even with rappers

You are right 👍. This song is for ARMYs. Sometimes in their albums, BTS will right one song which is meant for ARMYs and the lyrics will depend on the situation at the time when the song was released. For example, the song 2!3! was written to console ARMYs who experienced a lot of hates for stanning BTS back in 2015-206 (the hardest period that BTS & ARMYs had to go through). This song is very special for us.
