I'm 42, a psychologist and a high school guidance counselor. My journey with BTS began in 2014, thanks to my niece and 3 nephews who introduced me to them. I was drawn to BTS primarily because, as an uncle, I felt the need to understand and connect better with our kids at home, to learn about the things and the people they're interested in, and to gain insight into how I and the other adults in the family could better guide our kids in their road through adolescence. This journey into BTS realm was so far from what I had initially envisioned. What I once thought would be just another week-long music review session with our kids turned into something so much more because I would soon find out that BTS was creating a whole new universe for their generation, where music and literature and the arts are used so cognizantly and purposefully to inspire both social awareness and self-discovery. So, let's just say I became as huge a fan of BTS as my niece and nephews, which leads me to this: discovering your channel, and how it has now become one of my favorite KZbin channels to watch. I have always wondered, from when BTS began to stamp their mark on Western mainstream media in early 2017, how new fans and supporters would be able to get to know the boys and their work well enough, given that there's so much BTS content from the years before that they maybe had to see and learn. I'm always interested to learn about new ARMY, and their journey of discovery. Your channel is maybe the best example to learn just that. First, because you're cerebral and interested. Watching your reaction videos is such a treat because you actually, truly mentally process the BTS content that you react to. Watching every step of your BTS journey is like watching nature gain more color and light each time. In a way, your videos are an ideal step-by-step course in BTS appreciation for anybody who wishes to discover this universe called BTS. Second, you're refreshingly articulate. I highly recommend your channel to our kids at home and to my students because I know that when they watch you, they won't just see another reactor doing the usual reaction. When they watch you, I know that they will actually learn something (good vocabulary and diction, and insightful commentary, to name a few). Furthermore, you have a knack for setting up a good progression of videos to react to that it almost seems serendipitous. Your lineup of BTS reaction videos seem to follow an arc that I find interesting because it feels so much like a carefully planned narrative. I'm excited to see more of your reactions, and to go through your journey with you. #DTParkerFanHere

I'm not gonna spoil your impending reaction by telling you why it's called the queen of BTS songs, and why this particular song is the heart and center of BTS' message. sherwynphilip actually the real reason that spring day became the queen of bts songs is how it is related to Sewol Ferry Incident back in April 2014 , even the clock on the laundry room shows the time of when the crew stopped the rescue, the video u suggested only focus on the other symbols not the hidden one that is the Sewol Ferry Incident I think : [2020] What you STILL DON'T KNOW about BTS SPRING DAY MV even the most popular explanation : BTS Spring Day MV EXPLAINED | Sewol Ferry, Snowpiercer & Survivors , is better explanation , ofc the best option is to watch all of them. it was hidden meaning and even RM didnt confirm it cuz at that time government was censoring everything related and there was a chaos.

@@greygreygray I agree. While BS&T does fall under the storyline, like all of BTS' music videos (including the storyline ones), they have multiple meanings you can absorb. Hi boy, greetings from Argentina! I really discovered your channel by chance and I really loved your reaction to my babies so here I am following you in Patreon too. Anyway, in relation to this video there are many things you should know to understand it. In the first place Big Hit always goes ahead of us, these geniuses had everything absolutely planned since before the debut of BTS, so nothing that the boys take out is hung or has no importance or meaning! Big hit created a whole Marvel-style universe, universe he called BU! In this universe he tells us a story. It is based on 7 friends who have known each other since adolescence and spend, live and suffer their passage through life. A group of friends who are happy being together but who separately must each fight with their ghosts, fears and problems. A story where there is death, pain, tears, terror and time travel! Each member has their own story and together they have another. It is very important that you watch the videos in order so you can understand a little everything that is happening. The order would be as follows: 1- i Need you ORIGINAL VERSION 2- Prologue ON stage (SUB english) 3- Run 4- Young for ever 5- The 7 short stories of Wings (there are 7 because this was the first album in which the boys had their first solo, composed and produced by themselves and that contribute or add to things in their lives and stories) The solos They are: 1 BEGIN JUNGKOOK, 2 LIE JIMIN, 3 STIGMA V, 4 FIRST LOVE SUGA, 5 REFLECTION RM, MAMA J HOPE AND AWAKE JIN. 6- BOY MEET EVIL 7- BLOOD SWAET AND TEARS 8- The 3 HIGHLIGHT REEL (SUB English) 9- serendipity 10- Wonder EUPHORIA 11- Singularity 12- teaser fake love 1 and 2 13- fake love extended version 14- EPIPHANY You should always try to watch the videos until the end, because there are always hidden scenes. The story is told in pairs: JUNGKOOK and suga, v and rm, Jimin and J Hope. Jin alone (he is the protagonist and who travels in time because? You will find out when you see everything! También. Each member is also related to one or more elements: raise the fire and the piano, Jimin the water, the tub the arboretum , J Hope the pills and then the snickers, V the phones, RM the mirrors, KOOK the boys and Jin the camera and a diary. Sorry for writing so much and for my poor English !! I hope you can see the videos and get into this world from which there is no way out !! Greetings !!!

I remember a couple years ago, Big Hit made a notice that they were hiring and looking specifically for people with storytelling and creative direction experience and everyone was like "Are you kidding? You don't need help with storytelling, you already have a team of masterminds, please don't make the bts universe more complicated. All we want is a freaking translator to put captions on Bangtan Bombs & Episodes!" It was so funny at the time, but I think that was actually back when TXT were trainees and the company was looking for storytellers to help with TXT's debut and the storyline they were developing for them, not for BTS. Big Hit really puts a lot of emphasis on storytelling for their artists. It's Awesome. Comeback trailers are important. The most important comeback trailers and teasers to watch are: Wings Short Fims 1 through 7, Boy Meets Evil, Highlight Reels 1 through 4, Fake Love Teaser #1, and Singularity. When you're a new fan, it's a lot of catching up and it can feel like you need to watch everything really quickly, but doing that can be overwhelming and you might miss details if you rush. Remember that you have time, and there is no need to rush. Whether you figure out the whole storyline now or next week or next month, it's going to be awesome discovering it whenever. However, I do recommend watching certain videos in a sort of marathon format because that's the way they were released and you get the full effect better that way. For example, the WINGS Short Films were released leading up to the WINGS Album release and they are all interconnected but it's hard to keep track of the little details if you don't watch them one after another right away (with subtitles, the subtitles and quotes are important, but are not on the official videos so you'll have to find fan translated versions by searching for " [title] + eng sub " ). I guess, my biggest tip to a new fan who is checking out all the BTS videos, is to watch stuff in the order it was released, and try to check out songs from the corresponding albums at the same time because BTS sidetracks tend to be just as important as lead singles and title tracks. Like, in the WINGS Short FIlms, every film has at least one quote from an older BTS song.

I actually like many of his premises, but this is not my mother language and it's hard for me to explain myself. But the "god is dead" and so on, it's an analisis on morals and what moves humans to do correct and moral things. Is it fear? is it real goodness in oneself? etc.

@@Tomodachi91ve You're right, Nietzsche's "God is dead" is more about : Why did humans need a religion in the first place? To have a well ordered society, with common ways to tell apart what's good from bad? To have something to believe in (for instance not being scared of death because "don't worry there's an afterlife")? To invent myths to understand the world better (since science couldn't, and still can't, explain everything)? To not feel the void/absurdity of existence too harshly? Many philosophers from the XXst century have made a similar analysis, that religion is slowly shrinking in advanced societies because many realize beliefs are not needed anymore... The amount of fan theories, one led to another, and some inspired the others to dig deeper. This has been going on for years and you will notice that some "hints" were drop on their previous videos that led to the current videos and it's just mind blowing. Every comeback is a festivity of events. Most armys are just enjoying the ride, while some were creating their theories, and others are being the crackheads that we are creating memes that reflects our current feelings like confusion and excitement. In bts videos, nothing is coincidence. Armys know better now and will disect every new videos that will come out to check for any hints or connection to the ever growing BU. I loved your reaction! Also, I recommend reading "Demian", it's such an interesting book. But when it comes to "Blood, Sweat & Tears" the content is much wider than this music video. The whole album is called "Wings" (as you could expect, knowing the concept) and it contains 7 solo songs by each member, each one telling different story (connected to BU). Another marvellous thing about this era are Wings Short Films (when speaking of Oscars... you must check them out!), which are 7 trailers (one for each member) released in the form of aesthetic, symbolic mini films, that make the story even deeper. I know everything seems confusing and complicated at first (it really is, actually), but I can see that your eyes and heart are wide open for new things and that's really all you need. Your curiosity and your questions will lead you through this artistic, intellectual journey, that BTS has to offer. Let's stay inspired! Have a nice day~

I have been a fan for almost two years and I am still learning. They have so much content, MV’s, Live shows, Run Series, get ready to laugh, Bon voyage, they take a trip out of the Country, Cpyhers with subtitles, and so much more. Don’t let it overwhelm you, just enjoy the ride.

Well done DT for the well explained reaction to Blood Sweat and Tears....am new to BTS ( accidentally found them on FB -ON- during my country’s lockdown in March’20...am following your reactions since. BTS helped change my thinking ( lost my husband a yr ago to cancer) with their songs especially how to love myself. I’m happier now. Thanks and looking forward to more.😊

When I started watching BTS (2 years ago) was more because of the way they danced and singed. Now, thanks to you, I'm learning more and more about them and their music. I'm an old lady and never would I thought I'll be getting into Kpop music. How can you not like what these guys do. I love all of them but my favorite ones are Jimin and Jikook. Jimin is my baby. Keep showing us more good stuff. Thanks DT I love you man.

BTS is raising the consciousness of the planet...one word, one MV frame, one rap bar, one high note at a time. They are brilliant...and God (or whatever name you have for the Divine Intelligence/god/source) bless Bang Si-hyuk for plucking the seven unlikely boys out of the idol trainee milieu and partnering with them to bring us all here. It's astonishing.

Fun fact about it, at the end jins face cracks and he kisses the statue angle.And that same exact thing happens in the movie black swan.So bts music videos really do connect even years later. So I think it’s cool that the music video connects with the movie black swan.The movie black swan is about a dancer struggling which can also be connected to black swan lyrics.It can be connected when the black swan lyrics talk about losing passion being the first death.Im always amazed on how well bts storyline connect. Like I wonder if Bighit and bts planned there whole story line and carrier bc they’re story line is done so well.💜💜
@hananana11555 жыл бұрын
someone else who saw the connection, yes , thats what I am saying, I feel like jin is related to Nina like we can see jin as the white swan now, but if thats the case then the whole story line might be an illusion u know what I mean ???

YES, their storyline and hints make us curious and keep making some research and learn about it. Everytime their songs and mv came, dictionary views always go up high and the books that we thinks it's related were always sold out. BigHit even sell their recommendation philosophy, historical, and self-love books on their site (and some book of philosophy books that RM read) to us for read and learn. Even thought it's not bighit entertainment related or neither their job to commercial it, they do it because the book were indeed good and have great message to ourselves to learn alot of thing that we usually didn't bother and don't want to. Because of that some writer's were thanking BTS for recommending their books and even remake the book just to put special thanks to BTS.

This is why bs&t is my favorite music video and Wings my favorite era. The symbolism is just unreal! And this is one of my favorite explanation vids for Bs&t but it honestly only cracks the surface of ALL the meaning in this mv. The Japanese version has even more symbolism!
@shintaamalina25045 жыл бұрын
Being a BTS fan have a LOT of advantages, really! If you are in to dig deeper into their crafts, one wouldn't want to leave without regrets. Many people who claim to "leave the fandom" or "don't want to support BTS because they are no longer the same" have never been in for their arts. Thank you for your reactions, you are such a mood! Be careful that not many videos about BTS are reliable out there, so seeing you getting exposed to good videos nowadays is such a relief. Also, explanation videos of BTS are like proofs of why the K-pop label really doesn't do them justice. Therefore we ARMYs appreciate more the term "Korean group" instead of "pop boy band" or "K-pop group" because if you do learn about them deeper, such categories wouldn't do their works justice at all.

Yeah it's very difficult to explain to a muggle why BTS are amazing. There are layers upon layers upon effort upon thought. And it's inspiring. Seriously. We all felt it too. I wanted to learn and grow more. BTS literally have become my gate into the world, a Global Citizen, armed with the resources to know myself, face myself, love myself & speak myself =) it's free, it's empowering, it's mood lifting, and it's so pure in its intent to help that army want to share this experience with others. BTS: the world's biggest secret club lol. When you get it, you get it, and there's no going back

theres an explanation video for every MV they release lol its always super interesting :) i love seeing you inspired!! thats why we love them.. glad you can relate now, as she said in the vid, the choreo and music are always suuuper good; but we gain so much just following their journey its mindblowing, wait till you see Spring Day and its explanation
@МаринаПетрова-п8о5 жыл бұрын
The bad news here is that this explanation video actually explains only on layer of the symbolism in this video. It explains the current era at the time. But it is also, along with the short films that a part of it, a very important part of Bangtan Universe storyline. The scenes and symbols can be interpreted that way too. I think it's brilliant. Amazing storytelling!!!

To me this is why so many people are invested and engaged with BTS (ARMY is famously passionate) coz they've made these previously 'highbrow' topics more accessible to ordinary folk like us. Even the artists commissioned for "Connect, BTS" are pleased that their works will be viewed by more people because of BTS' endorsement. Museums in S. Korea have mentioned that everytime RM visits a museum many people follow suit. If you are going to watch explanation videos for Spring Day, please also consider to watch this one created by Italian ARMY. It's called "What you STILL DON'T KNOW about BTS SPRING DAY MV". It's endorsed by Dr. Colette Balmain, one of the scholars who organizes conferences around BTS. And it was featured on a lot of Korean broadcasts 2 yrs ago. This explanation video focuses more on the connection to the Sewol ferry tragedy, which is the main reason why the song is so close to many Koreans' hearts. Other explanation videos that touch on Snowpiercer and Omelas are also very good. My point is just that it's good to have many inputs to enrich the appreciation for Spring Day :) Not many people watch this video because it's in Italian, but there are English captions. I really pray you also give this video a chance (no other big reactor has ever filmed a reaction to this yet). Here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKO3ZZSVe9xppqc. Thanks in advance for considering.
