I totally understand why Spring Day is an instant classic and still charts to this day. Instantly one of my favorite BTS songs and I can't believe I haven't heard it until now.

Suga once said that Spring Day is like Zombie.. it never dies. This song celebrated it's 7th year on the Melon Daily Chart last February 10, 2024 and it probably will stay there for many years to come. This is due to the fact that many in South Korea have come to associate this song with the events of the Sewol ferry incident, though BTS never confirmed nor denied that the song was inspired by that tragedy.

You should check out the "SPRING DAY EXPLAINED" videos. There are 2 really good videos, one by a channel named "Bulletproof vibes" and another channel named 'Italian Army" super super recommend these 2 videos. There's so much context to the song and video that's easily missed. Stay cool in this PNW heat wave, it sucks..

Spring Day, in summary, is a longing for the past. Simplistically, it is anger and sadness of a friendship that grew distant. Many regard it as a remembrance of the victims of the sinking of the Sewol Ferry. The giant mountain of laundry is said to be a reference. The train refers to the movie Snowpiercer. You also see "Omelas" in the video, a reference to the book "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas". The movie and the book share a common theme. A population that thrives because of the suffering of one/others. It is also said that, if you watch the video, you can see the 5 stages of grief. It makes Jimin throwing the shoes on the tree that much more poignant if you see it that way. I'm sure there are other pieces, but I have forgotten them. I know the swing ride says "You Never Walk Alone" and I know that the tree has meaning, too. - and as for Blood, Sweat and Tears, that's storyline stuff. I'll let Army fill you in.

On BST it bothered me when I thought they were saying money money money, but when I knew they were saying More More More and the song is about temptation, I then loved it. Also it’s based on the book Demian by Herman Hesse.

Blood, Sweat and Tears about growing up facing temptation, loss of innocence and coming to terms with the fact you have to accept yourself with all your faults. Notice the boys were in two except for Jin. A younger member being mentored by an older member. The things of childhood, toys, smaller cycle, catapult, ballon and the letting go of them. The many reference's to temptation an religious artwork. Jin kissing the Statue which is a god which is good and evil, male and female, a kiss sealing your fate. V the temper a fallen angel with his wings hacked from his back. Jimin was holding an apple in his hand a symbol of the fall of Adam & Eve in the Garden They keep covering their own eyes and each other eyes to stop them seeing temptation. This is very much all influenced by the German Writer and Think Hermann Hesse and his classic Book Demian. Suga (Rapper) is playing the smaller church organ representing the elderly church organist and mentor to Sinclair in the book Demian. The piece he's playing is Passacaglia in D minor by Dieterich Buxtehude There's a quote over the mirror in German from Friedrich Nietzsche Philosopher and critic.

YES YOU ARE RIGHT!! they have a lot of emotional songs like spring day, they aren't exactly the same in therms of sound but the vibes are very similar, they have a huge amount of those, if they released an album. There's always a song like that, maybe more in co-relation to the album but they always include a type of ballad somewhere!! Army loves their sentimental songs!! Like in the RUN album (the most beautiful moment in life pt2) RUN is their tittle track but they have butterfly in their bsides! (I SWEAR TO GOD BTS'S BSIDES ARE TOP TIER) or in the Love yourself tear album, the tittle track its fake love but in their bsides they have The truth untold! (I put those examples bc I know you know these songs)

There’s so much lore in Spring Day and BST, many of which other Army have filled in with much more details than I could. But just wanted to point out the part you loved in bridge of Spring Day and pre chorus of BST, are the highlights of the songs. You seem to particularly love the emotion during V’s lines in SpringDay and the pre chorus of BST which is also V’s part; as well as Jimin. Do enjoy the rabbit hole, borahae💜

I'm glad you checked this out I haven't even finished the video I just finished spring day part and I just wanna say, first of all spring day is definitely one of my favorite songs from them and I always thought you would definitely love the song and MV it just felt like your kinda song, I remember you in a previous reaction saying usually your favorite BTS songs are the hype ones and I thought "he would probably love spring day if he wants something different". Also the song in the album is still pretty long even without the outro it's 4:34 although the outro is my favorite whenever they do it live, I've seen them do the outro live in some performances and sometimes they don't (mostly when they do the choreo they don't do it if I remember correctly). One of my most favorite songs from them is a B-side called Moving on/Move it's on one of their older albums but it's so good, it's actual a song about moving to a new place and the feelings you get after moving and reflecting on that old place they used to live in, I feel like it's very underrated I never hear anyone talk about it but it always hits even though I've never even moved place in a while the way they talked about it really hit and I thought maybe you'd connect with it maybe not I'm not sure lol but I thought it would be a good mention

You have to remember BTS members aren't just musicians and artists they are they are highly intelligent, they are thinkers. RM alone has an IQ of 148 so that's why the lyrics are so important and their MV's are for the Thinkers of this world who are willing to research and do their homework. The also use a lot of word play and reference things not heard of in Kpop. They are trend setters it's huge component of why they are so far ahead and now the most Award Artists on the planet with 1,400 Music Awards, 5 Grammy Nominations, 31 Guinness World Recorders. Just knocked MJ of his pedestal earlier this week. Spoken 3 time's at the UN, spoken at the USA White House. Discussed in Universities.

Uff spring day to me is a masterpiece, it's definitely a fandom fav, if you ask army which bts song is their fav, a lot of them will say that spring day is their fav and if it not, then is in their top 5, it's for sure my top 3, a lot of people already explain that the mv has a connection to the sewol ferrry tragedy but that is only the mv. Both namjoon and yoongi said that it was about losing and missing a friend/friendship and that's why it has this sentimental element, they also use "spring day" as a metaphor for good days and hope, when covid happened and bts were promoting dynamite and butter, they sang spring day A LOT, bc it has this meaning of missing someone/something (army, and the the before of covid) to make sure that even in the darkest times, there's hope. Wow it's been a while since I came here, I'm mostly in your channel when it's pentagon related but I'm also an army and it's good to be here again but for bts!! They have a lot of music (especially their bsides) I hope you can check more of their content in the future! No pressure tho

The preconception you had of the type of song Spring Day and it's MV might be is like their song Stay Gold and MV. Check them out and see if you agree. The lyrics of Spring Day were written by RM whilst he was thinking about a friend he was missing. The MV has many subtle references to the Sewol ferry disaster. The abandoned clothes on the train represents the victim's luggage left behind. The clothes pile represents the people lost in the disaster. You even mentioned Snowpiercer correctly but in addition to the train endlessly circling the frozen earth it was about the oppression of part of society by the rich front of train section. Also children suffered to enable the train to keep running. BTS could not openly say that it relates to the disaster or they would have been blacklisted by the government. Watch the video explanation by Italian Army. The German quote is from Nietsche. It refers to the fact that you cannot become a full adult unless you except both good and bad parts of life and yourself. The song refers to growing up and realising their are temptations in the world that you need to accept. It portrays this theme from the book Demien by Herman Hesse and their are many aspects of the story in the MV, like the pairing of an older member with younger member of the group at the start, the organ playing. You definitely could write a book about it.

@NanciBK said on 2/4/24 Most of their songs have layered meanings, but this one is indeed a deep dive. Their songs usually have a surface meaning that is universal, deeper stories that are personal to them, a layer under that which is a more nuanced dive into things like history, philosophy, psychology, etc, and sometimes also story clues and context relating to the BU (Bangtan Universe) all in the same song. Their MVs add another layer to the art in terms of the clues and storytelling going on visually. Add to that their choreography which is not just dope moves, but nuanced performance art storytelling, with moves related to the themes and lyrics. Add to that the fact that the song structures themselves can tell part of the story, like a song done in all downbeat minor chords which is about being caught in lies you tell yourself which has a major, soaring and uplifting chord on the chorus which is itself a lie within the song. Or a song about the 7 of them continuing to make music together and be with ARMY, which is full of unusual 7th chords. Or a pause and silence in the song instrumentation when the lyrics say "I take a breath." Or a song that uses basketball sounds as all the percussion, like sneaker squeaks, ball sounds, etc. Add to that their short films and other media like their mobile game and webtoons and books and so forth that continue their stories. They. Are. Geniuses. The choreography in B,S&T is seductive because there is a seduction taking place. It is the guys who are being seduced away from their childhood by the temptations of the adult world. Ultimately, they must surrender to the darkness because that is how you grow up, by letting go of the innocence of childhood like Jin lets go of the balloon. It's melancholy to embrace the dark and say goodbye to childhood, but you don't plunge into the dark headfirst, you add it to the light as a duality. Just as Jin embraced Abraxis, the god of both Good and Evil, Light and Darkness, we all must carry that duality within us, the chaos, the shadows, that allows us to be fully realized adult people capable of growth and creativity or giving "birth to the dancing star." Once they surrender and the blindfold comes off, they are not left in that black and white world of the duality. Instead, the world bursts with new colors, the creative expression of which they are now capable. In the end Jin sees the shell of childhood cracking as his new self begins to emerge. This song is off the masterpiece album Wings, which is all inspired by Demian. But so many of their songs and albums are masterpieces and every album is a concept album with a story to tell and they ask you to listen to tracks in order because they are in a storytelling order. Albums are based on psychological theory, or philosophy, or life stages and passages or personal struggles and experiences. The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series is about that moment between adolescence and adulthood, when you have to make real decisions as young adults, and the turbulence and challenges of those times. Jimin's album Face and BTS album BE are both pandemic albums, full of their pandemic struggles as well as the things that got them through. RM's album Indigo is the story of his 20s, triumphs, fears, lessons learned. Jungkook's album Golden and BTS album series Love Yourself all explore love in various ways, phases and types. V's album Layover tells a story of escaping and creating a virtual fantasy world where he can be together with BTS and ARMY, as told through songs about love, loss and longing. And so on.... There is SOOOOO much more for you to discover. I'm so glad you have joined us here in our cozy rabbit warren. BTS is love. ARMY is love. Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I love this song. It's so beautiful. I did not cry when I heard the song or saw the video for the 1st time. It did touch my heart though. One of my fav's for sure. The first time I heard the song was in Dear Class Of 2020. If you have not watched pls do. It's awesome. I loved this performance a lot. Spring Day for me is a sad hopeful song. I get melancholy feels from it. I hope u watch BTS Spring Day MV EXPLAINED by bulletproof vibes. It's so good. There are a few explanation videos. Some have more detail than the others. This song is a Queen because it's on the charts so all these 7 yrs. Stores play it in Korea because ppl want to remember and never forget. BTS made this one to help ppl remember. I think that's just amazing! After the guys all enlisted recently USA army charted the song to #1 for the 1st time ever in 7 yrs. Cool, right. Yes, Yet to Come has echoes of Spring Day and other MVs. The song is for army so only army will truly get the meaning. This is why many cry watching that MV. The carousel says YOU NEVER WALK ALONE. This is an album name it is also their msg to army from long ago. stay safe. -2019 ARMY NY USA 💜 @psychokitty71 said on 8/3/23 The song itself is not about Spring Day, but about loss and grief. The video, however is about the Sewol ferry tragedy. It was only confirmed by BTS in late 2020 in an interview. There is another explanation, by Italian ARMY that is even more heartbreaking. Italian ARMY's explanation goes more into the actual tragedy and includes footage from the tragedy, from the parents begging someone to save their children and even a clip from inside the sinking ship, where a man can be heard making an announcement that strongly urges the passengers on the ferry to stay put. The video also goes into the cause of the tragedy and it's aftermath. If you guys are strong enough to watch something like that, I highly recommend it, but it's okay if you aren't able to. That explanation video is so detailed and heart wrenching that there are a number of people who can't watch the whole thing. There are also even more details in the MV that indicate that it represents the Sewol ferry sinking than are pointed out in this video. The boys even performed Spring Day on an award show one time, and the stage was made to look as if it was on the bottom of the sea. @beccal.5369 said on 8/3/23 💜🙏Thank you for sharing your heartfelt reaction to Spring Day...... I want to share with you a comment to another reactor from a survivor of the Sewol disaster.. I would like you to hear from him just how BTS has healed him through this song and the messages they have: His name is Chilo Abellon - and this is his public comment in full - unedited - from 2 years ago.......... "I remembered when they rescuing us its so tragic when you see your classmates/friends stuck asking and hearing them scream for help, the screaming and voices of people asking for help while the ships is sinking the scream slowly vanished. When you can’t help them because the water got deeper and deeper while they rescue us slowly. The time that i got rescued only 3 of us survived, my two classmates and i in our and my other classmates stuck in the ships hoping they’re still alive but when the time i heard the news that they’re all gone. It slowly sinking in that all my friends and the other class are gone and will never comeback. I feel guilty when I survived, I’m thinking am i lucky? Or is it not right that i was alive and not them? Do i deserve to live?. Feeling depressed, having suicidal thoughts, every night you can’t sleep because i keep hearing those scream a scream people needing a help but you can’t because your weak and got broken bones. Everything time I struggled to see what life is all about, thinking what if all of my friends survived and they with me survived. It would be dream to see that happening. I struggled to make a good life that i can be proud of because of that incident happened but when i found out about BTS my life changed me because of their music they changed my life the way that i can be proud of and I started loving myself by little by little and finally the day I realize life is so short and the incident happened 7years ago impacted my life to be a better person and all of our hardships are just a big task for us to make them done and the outcome will be 100times better the incident happened 7years ago thought me so many things. The biggest one is don’t forget they might be gone but don’t forget them put them on your heart and like life all of your hardship and your mistakes will not lose or fail you it’s always a win win situation because we always learn from them. Spring day is my number 1 fav song of BTS because I reminisce the things happened 7years ago while watching the mv and it always help me to keep going in life and do not give up on things that i want to achieve - My name is Chilo one of the survivors of the sewol ferry incident." I truly hope he does not mind me passing on his public comment - but this best shows the power of BTS message. The worst thing about the disaster - the captain and crew fled the ship the morning 9.35 - the ferry did not sink until the night - they left the warning to "not move and stay still" playing on a loop through the ship. Only the children that disobeyed the warning survived. The others drowned as they were so ingrained to listen to authority. The civilian boats that attempted to rescue people were stopped by the coast guard as people would discover the boat was illegally overloaded. Parents on the shore were receiving desperate calls and texts from their children begging for help. And the coastguard did nothing. The only rescue the coastguard made that day was the captain and crew... The people that got rescued were rescued by fishing vessels that got there first before they were stopped...3 years the ferry lay at the bottom as the Govt would not raise it for fear of discovering the truth.... They found video footage taken on mobile phones that were recovered of children wishing their families goodbye. One of the civilian rescue divers later committed suicide after having to recover so many children's bodies knowing that he could have saved them but was forcibly stopped. As a parent I could not comprehend having to live through such a thing. Horrific that your own government would perpetrate and then cover up such a incident... jailing dissenters for protesting. It was proven that there were high officials with financial interests in the ferry. The president colluded with them to bury the truth and hamper investigations... 10000 people in the public eye (reporters, artists, etc) put on a Govt blacklist for speaking about it. BTS went and paid respects to the parents of the victims in 2014 when the tragedy occured. No Cameras - No fanfare - just doing what was right...They also donated approx $100,000 (that year they only earnt $300,000 - they gave 1/3 of their earnings) to help the parents in their fight for justice.... We only found out about the donation years later as one of the parents was sick of all the hatred BTS was always getting and wanted others to know just how decent they are. The MV, The album cover, The choreography all relate back to the Sewol. But The song is about missing anyone you love and are separated from. They have since been singing Spring Day during the pandemic as the world is now longing for a spring day. Spring Day has never left the music charts, to this day it is still in the top 100 charts.... almost 7 years later and this song still speaks to people everywhere. I highly recommend ItalianARMY explanation video "What you still don't know about BTS Spring Day MV" but it is very hard to watch. Footage of the parents begging the coast guard to save their children shattered me.... She actually travelled to South Korea to speak with the parents and compile the video. Sorry this is so long - but I really wanted to pass his comment and information to you relating to your Spring Day Explained video.... with posting your reaction you have helped keep the memory of Sewol alive and maybe others who do not know of it will learn of the tragedy. Thank you for sharing your journey, and helping to spread BTS message.. You are a really nice couple. Sending greetings and love from Australia... BORAHAE💜 #WeNeverWalkAlone

@alex__andrei said on 2/28/24 Okay, so this is gonna be a long comment so bear with me! I tried my best to write a summarized explanation on some of the symbolism present. “Blood Sweat & Tears” is the title track of one of their albums called “WINGS” (2016). This particular song and entire album uses a plethora of references that link to one book: “Demian” by german writer Hermann Hesse. This book tells the story of a young boy named Emil Sinclair and his childhood growing up during pre-World War I. He struggles to find his new self-knowledge in the immoral world and is caught between good and evil. Already we have some clues as to what this song/MV is about: the battle between good and evil and temptation. The video opens up with the members in a museum; notice how every member have symbols of innocence, such as a bike or slingshot; also each younger member is paired with an older member, their “mentor”, referencing “Demian”. Jin, the oldest member, stands alone. He is staring at the painting called “The Fall of the Rebel Angels” by Peter Bruegel the Elder. (good angels fighting Lucifer/evil angels fallen from Heaven). He is about to begin his journey towards finding his true self and identity. On the left & right, there is a white and a black door, which represent the paths Jin can go on: the good side and the evil side. Now, If you notice at 2:14, Jungkook is on a swing, and behind him is the painting called “The Lament for Icarus” by Herbert James Draper. Jungkook is representing Icarus troughout the whole video. (V also represents Icarus but in a different form). The swing could represent Icarus being safe, the Icarus following orders (he is supported by a swing, safe from the wrongdoings of the world). Also, notice the lollipop in his hand. This could symbolize either another symbol of innocence, or Icarus’ age as he was a child. Later we see a drop of wax dripping on JK’s finger (3:53). This is a representation of the fall of Icarus and foreshadows what will happen to him later in the video (JK licking the said wax from his finger, a symbol of Icarus’ temptation that would later come in as his downfall, foreshadowed by the painting in the back). At 5:19, V is representing Icarus but also a fallen angel (this scene can also symbolize the fall of Lucifer: he rebelled against God and fell from grace, tempting more angels to do so in the process, thus connecting to the painting at the beginning “The Fall of the Rebel Angels”, maybe this is why he smirks after he falls down the balcony). Behind him we see the painting “Landscape with the Fall of Icarus” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. This scene represents the death of Icarus (he ignored his father’s warning about flying too close to the sun, until the wax that kept his wings attached to his body melted…and so he fell to his death-again we have the theme of temptation-Icarus falling to temptation. But…at 5:36/5:42 we see Jungkook again, but this time he is floating. He in this scene is dead, and him floating in the air represents how Icarus started “floating” in the water after he fell and drowned, connecting V’s and JK’s scenes. We also see feathers floating in the air and on the floor as well (being underwater). So the whole Icarus imagery in this MV comes in like this: Stage 1: We see JK/Icarus on the swing, Icarus being alive; Stage 2: V/Icarus falls off the balcony and into the water; Stage 3: The painting in the background (“Landscape with the Fall of Icarus”) foreshadows JK/Icarus when he is floating/drowned (him being dead/underwater); Stage 4: The painting behind JK (“The Lament for Icarus”) foreshadows V/Icarus having no wings on anymore which is the final stage. Now, the kissing scene. (By the way, RM is reading a paragraph from “Demian” at 6:05, if you didn’t read the book, you will not really understand; also, this scene portrays Jin letting go of the balloon. This can represent letting go of his childhood innocence, his youth and moving into adulthood) During the interlude of the MV, all the members run towards the exit except for Jin and V. If you notice, Jin has a very confused and scared look on his face while V blindfolds him with his hands. After that, a white statue with black wings appears: this statue represents the god Abraxas-the deity is a representation of good and evil. It is not good or evil, it is both (good and evil into the same word). After that, Jin walks closer to it, takes a look at it then kisses it. This scene represents how Jin has finally embraced both good and evil into himself (by kissing Abraxas), thus destroying the world of only-innocence that he has lived in prior to this. We then see V with his wings cut off, giving a smile to the camera (him smiling could symbolize that Jin’s growth is complete, and he finally welcomed chaos into himself which leads to self betterment and growth: Theory of Carl Jung: Accepting your Shadow). Again, Icarus but also a fallen angel. So this whole MV is revolving around Jin most of the time, he is the main protagonist of this it (his path to adulthood, maturity and acceptance of chaos within). The quote above the mirror at 8:15 is written in German (belonging to philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche) and translates as: “You need to have chaos in yourself in order to give birth to a dancing star” basically meaning that if you don’t accept chaos (evil/temptation) into yourself, you will not be able to grow to your full potential. At the end of the MV we see the old version of Jin, the version that was only pure and innocent cracking, there is no chaos in him and so he cannot give birth to the dancing star. Other scenes that further strengthen the overall theme of the MV include 2:52, RM “drinking” the poison (temptation), 4:32, a “Last Supper” kind of setting in which all the members have an apple and a chalice, both signs of temptation; 5:14, a blindfold and an apple (forbidden-fruit) and so on. Like I said, this is only a small part! There is so much I didn’t say here, and also keep in mind there is also the BU (Bangtan Universe) consisting of a fictional storyline, this MV is heavy in that matter as well, literally a whole new storyline apart from the one I said! 💜 @Ash-ny1kg said on 3/30/24 So the circles at the end of the short films were really important because they show how the pairs switched up for this era! Yoongi’s circle got added to Jimin’s to make a new symbol, Namjoon’s got added to Jungkook's to make a new symbol, and Hobi’s got added to Taehyung’s to make a new symbol. The original pairs from I Need U STILL apply to the storyline but ya those short films kind of help you understand why the pairings were like this for the blood sweat and tears mv. @joannabartocha1815 said on 5/25/24 The whole Wings album is about entering adulthood and facing temptations of the world. Blood, Sweat and Tears concept is based on the novel by Herman Hesse titled Demian. There is so many details, that I'm happy you're going to watch explanation video later. In the future if you have time, it would be great if you could check out dance practice videos (on Bangtan TV). They really show the whole choreography clearly, on live TV shows or concerts, camera work takes away from the dance. Of course I'm only recommending that, if you are interested in choreography no pressure I love live performances because you can hear them sing live with no effects on their voices, so you can clearly tell who sings which part. Thank you for your reaction! See you in the next one!

@AlexiaGable said on 2/14/24 Hi, me again.😅 Thanks for this reaction! I think I'm going to leave a really long comment this time, so I'll apologize first.😅 Spring Day is the queen of BTS songs and has never been out of the Korean music chart for seven years since its release. It's a song that means a lot to ARMY. Spring Day is a song about all kinds of loss like old friends, but the music video contains many metaphors of South Korea's Ferry Sewol tragedy. Here are the Spring Day explained videos. These will help you understand Spring Day. :) Spring Day MV Explained kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqrIYoKEe8p-n9U [2021] What you STILL DON'T KNOW about BTS SPRING DAY MV kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKO3ZZSVe9xppqc And I'd like to recommend these two live performance videos. :) 2017 MMA Spring Day kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKK3e6uJo5qfqtU @tammarabg8174 said on 5/14/24 The Sewol sinking happened in April 16, 2014. I was a high school teacher in California when this happened. My students were the same age as the students on the field trip. I followed this story. (I did not discover BTS until 2020). "Spring Day" came out in February 2017, in the midst of protests and government crackdowns, including the impeachment proceedings against the president of Korea. Artist, actors, public figures, etcetera who spoke out for the victims' families and the survivors were attacked in the media, reputations smirched, lost their jobs, some wound up in jail. It was illegal to speak against the government. After the impeachment of President Park and during her trial, her orders to ruin the lives of those who publicly supported the families were confirmed. @lw4067 said on 5/14/24 Hi there, The song itself wasn't written about the ferry disaster, but the MV obviously is related. In fact, Jin confirmed a few years later in an interview that the MV was about a sad event. You didn't notice that the merry-go-round has the word "You'll never walk alone" on it. As I'm sure you know being from the UK, same as me, this is the song for Liverpool Football Club. Do you remember the Hillsborough disaster in 1989 where about 90 people including children sadly lost their lives in a crowd crush? Hillsborough families met with relatives of the victims of the Sewol Ferry Disaster to show their support and to share their knowledge and expertise in seeking out the truth of what happened. If you watch the Italian Army explanation or do your own research and see some of the videos taken by the students please have plenty of tissues handy because it is heart breaking. @meemac4709 said on 5/22/24 Accordingly, around 70%% of the Lyrics is written by RM. And, Suga contributed in the music production. Other resident lyricist of BTS contributed too. Note that this Song was released in 2017 and this song elevated them to Billboard Hot 100 and charted in the Billboards platforms.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. Great song. Adore it. Jimin was amazing in this. His voice the dance the fit, chef's kiss! We learn here that Suga can play the organ just as good as he can play the piano. He so awesome! All of them sound seductive just a pleasure for the ears. They look like they are in a museum to me too. =0] I was so surprised by the choreo when i saw it seperate. They leave a lot out. Fire!=0p Also, pls check out the explanation video for this MV. Bookish Theories is good. Rosan @xCeleste might have one too. Just take a look see. V is a fallen angel to me. He gives in to temptation all of them do. If u read the lyrics and pay attention to the symbolism the song is clearly about temptation not a relationship. The song and MV fit well together. There are a lot of layers in this one. BTS won 8 awards that year for this album and MV. They just swept the award show. Best day ever! much deserved. Yes, this is a BU story. Last supper reference. There were a LOT of biblical references and other hidden easter eggs. Like see no evil, hear no evil speak no evil was all in the choreo for a reason. I hope u watch the dance practice. It's so good. Hugs -2019 ARMY NY USA 💜 Gorey Fantod said on 12/20/21 A note about the organ music you might find interesting/relevant: The piece that is heard is Buxtehude's, "Passacaglia in D minor," which is also the piece that Emil hears in the Pistorius section of the novel.* * All credit goes to ReactToTheK (specifically Yunyi), for figuring that out & tracking down the reference. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWS7pXV8lNaLZtE M M said on 12/20/21 I suppose you understand why this song has been used during lectures at uni haha. You're definitely on the right track, but there's sooo much more hidden in this song/mv. I love the explanation video by Don't Worry I'm Not Afraid ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6XPmHSLepusoMk ). Fellow reactor Cedric Gegel actually did a great job breaking it down too, though he did it twice - first time for the more "apparent" meaning, and second time for the underlying meanings from the BU. tinyvantte said on 12/16/22 Some trivia about cinematography for u guys 👀: • RM reads a paragraph of "Demian" by Herman Hesse at 2:30 in the music video. And at the very beginning, RM is shown reading "Demian" by Herman Hesse. • At the beginning of the video, Jin looks at a painting titled The Fall of the Rebel Angels by Pieter Bruegel. • When Jungkook is dangling on the swing in the MV 0:20, the painting behind him is called The Lament of Icarus by Herbert James Draper. • In J-Hope' solo scene in the MV, he is standing behind Michelangelo’s Pieta. • When V is sitting on the ledge of the balcony in the MV, in front of him is the painting Landscape with the Fall of Icarus, also by Bruegel. • The table part: Apples are a sign of temptation and sin (apples are also mentioned in Demian). And on each plate, we see that each member has a chalice and an apple. All these things right in front of them are “tempting” them to sin. nighthawk326 said on 2/28/22 Here are all the art pieces represented in the mv: - Pieta (Michelangelo) - The Fall of the Rebel Angels (Pieter Bruegel) - Landscape with the Fall of Icarus (Pieter Bruegel) - The Lament for Icarus (Herbert James Draper) - Baroque Fresco (Giuaglio Quaglio) - Perseus with the head of Medusa (Benvenuto Cellini) - Livia Drusilla as Ops, goddess of fertility - Laocoon and his Sons - Crouching Venus - Venus de Milo - Venus at the Forge of Vulcan (Francesco Solimena) - Ares Borghese - Diana of Versailles - Angelus Novus (Paul Klee) - Regimental Band (Darsie Japp) - French fashion photograph (Henri Manuel) verna3120 said on 2/28/22 Loved your reaction and your thought process as you waded through the MV. And yes, I believe you were spot on about the “money/more” part. I think it’s a double entendre. It is more, more,, more (greed), but there’s also a saying in English, that “money is the root of all Evil”.
