I don't know why, but I've always thought of "Boy In Luv" and "War of Hormone" mv's as more of "what going on inside my head" and portraying their inner frustrations and contrasting feelings, rather than what they would actually do in real life.

True they did, they had to keep bowing and apologizing constantly if though she said it’s okay. Honestly i wouldn't really want them to change their concept in boy in luv because it shows how mature they've become now that you see boy with luv, so yea and i really wish you would let them see boy in luv behind the scenes because that was so adorable it definitely makes up for the edgy video but boy in luv definitely has one of the best raps and the iconic hairstyles of RM and Jin (forehead) 😭😭😭💜💜💜💜💜 loved this 💜
@reirarei33033 жыл бұрын
If u see behind-the-scene footages, Jin apologized to the female lead for the locker scene 💜 actually not too fazed with the said scenes as it's very K-drama like and similar scenes in other Asian-dramas as well (kinda see it as acting/drama coz it doesn't happen much in real life just like how we know the romantic & handsome Oppa in K-drama is not a typical real life representation either). Tho I did think the locker scene could have used less force and obviously as a grown woman now, respect in a relationship matters a lot more than juvenile relationships of angst & drama which the scenes are portraying & in line with the song context.

It's the same in American teen films. I do not see anything bad in their behavior (because no one can dictate to a child how to fall in love, if the subject of adoration is not against). Guys sing about teenage love, feelings that they are not used to, and you reason like grown women. All schoolchildren behave this way because they have no understanding of how to express feelings. If this video was filmed, then all these points were discussed by the creators of the video.
@MyCupOfTv3 жыл бұрын
Firstly, I agree that American teen films often show unacceptable behaviour as normal. The one I hate most being 'If a girl says no, pursue her until she says yes'. But I disagree on your other points. No you cannot tell someone how to love, but you can tell / show them how to respect another person. All schoolchildren do not behave this way. Being a teenager, hormones or 'not understanding how to express feelings' is no excuse for the physical manhandling of someone. And to suggest this is how you treat someone you like / love, is dangerous. I think the BTS of today would not make this video. Not because they're not teenagers, but because the treatment of this girl is not acceptable and they would not want to seem like they condone it. And when I say the treatment of the girl, I mean the video storyline, not BTS and the actress.
@byunciaga26303 жыл бұрын

I don't think they were pushing her into the room to make her choose. I think they were helping bring her to Jungkook. Jin clearly directs her to JK once he's dragged her to the classroom. I've always seen the video as being about Jungkook having the massive crush on this girl and the others being his unsophisticated wingmen. When they are all in the classroom they are clearly helping JK. When they each sing to her I don't think that bit is meant to be taken literally as them competing with each other for her affection.

Thanks for the reaction! That video always made me a little uncomfortable too, but I completely agree with what JD said about the context. Also, in the behind the scenes video you can see Jin bowing and apologising to the girl for pushing her into the locker! I’m also pretty sure he tried really hard with that so they would only need to do one or two takes. Since then, Big Hit has also released official statements apologising for the portrayal of women, and RM has said since then (and also War of Hormones) that he often asks Women’s Studies professors to look over the lyrics objectively. Maybe for a future video you could do “21st Century Girl”? :D That’s a really fun one, there are some pretty good live performances too! Always love your videos, and the wheel is a really fun idea too

It is a pity that you have to apologize for "your" creativity to people with prejudices and those who like to look for dirt, even where there is none. we don't see girls in videos anymore, because there are people who find a reason to be offended. You can't limit creativity, put it in a frame. I didn’t see anything wrong with these two videos, because it’s acting.
@pollypocket16073 жыл бұрын
@@vladivostok8888 I think that is the reason the girls discussed both sides of interpreting this video, on one side it is acting and was culturally fitting with the context and they know they boys weren’t serious, but on the other hand popular culture can glamourise unacceptable behaviour so there is a fine line and a responsibility of artists to lead by good example. As long as viewers are aware of these considerations i think you can still enjoy this video 💜

Jin's aggressive behavior supports the theme of immature, somewhat confused boys in school uniform knowing little more than forcing new emotions. I think this may be the only music video with any girl in it. Boy with Love signifies a wiser mindset of the grown-up men who understand love better in ways of expressing what they feel. I'm proud of the boys. A behind the scene video also shows Jin apologizing to the girl actress and the video director for pushing her too hard against the locker, sort of looking at her "are you okay?" 🤣🤣🤣

I always see the scene with the rose and the girl as being like its actually just JK with the girl, but the other guys have given him advice on what to say to her, so he's like channeling each of the guys with what he is saying to her (kind of like in A Knight's Tale with the letter if you have seen it) ☺ I agree with it making me uncomfortable too, with how she is treated, particularly with the locker. Understanding that its partly the context of kdramas and them not necessarily having the control with direction of the video at this point to do anything else. Also the idea of it being a visualisation of how their brains might be reacting, rather than them necessarily actually acting like that with the girl in this fictional scenario? If that makes sense?

Since kpop idol training includes acting classes - I see a lot of kpop as theater. Them playing a part in a concept that isn't their real self. But the downside to that is that "that isn't really them". It depends on what you want from a group concept. Do we like it when they act a part or full on themselves? Both can be fun. The way they were hitting on this girl (korean drama style) was indeed cringy to me. They can flirt with girls again in a future mv but not in that way I'd say

I love this song, but I still can't get past the cringy-ness I feel when I watch it. The urinal scene where they are checking each other out was the first cringe and the man handling of the girl didn't sit right with me either. It's so out of character for anything we've seen from from BTS before or since. I remember watching the "behind the scenes" of the making of this video and Jin was apologizing to the girl right after he pushed her into the locker. I know they took a lot of backlash for "War of Hormone" being misogynistic (which I didn't see at all) , but I am surprised that this wasn't the video that they got called out on. I do agree with Jenny...at this point in their careers, I expect when it came to making music videos it didn't involve much concept input from them and they were following directions. Thanks for reacting....still will forever love this song.
