Grammy called Jin "Silver Voice" for a reason, stability on his techniques, head voice, chest voice, falsetto, mix voice, even the members always say he is the best one on live performances, he is the only one on the group that earn an standing ovation for both solos Epiphany and Awake from the crowd in Japan, that is the most valuable recognition for an artist as the Japanese are selective.. Did you notice that this is actually a mix of two different performances? I believe they're both from the Japan 4th Muster but on different days. The footage mostly uses the performance where Jin wears suspenders -- but that one didn't focus on him during his high notes! So the maker of this video cut in footage from the other day (no suspenders), which *did* focus on those amazing vocals. I'm so glad they did because those are moments no one should miss. 😍 You're right on the money, too -- their original Japanese songs hit differently, somehow cleaner, higher, and brighter in tone.

Their Japanese songs are probably my favorite, both stylistically and performance -wise. I've noticed that their Japanese songs tend to be more vocal heavy, with even the raps being more melodic, which suits my overall taste. (Don't get me wrong, this rap line has made me appreciate rap like I never did before...) But I really love all their Japanese melodies, and the vocal line shines, especially Jin. When I first entered the fandom, there was a meme that I think is very accurate. BTS: We've got a new Japanese song... Jin: Hold my beer...

God, this song is one of my favourites but somehow I forget about it. They have too many songs that are my favourites!! I have a playlist for each of the members with their solo stuff, unit songs, etc but there's also a handful of full band songs where one member just owns it. They become associated with that member in my head, and so they go on the playlists too. Crystal Snow is on my Jin playlist.

If you don't know by now, recent news is that BTS military service/conscription is confirmed, they are going, with Jin assumed to be the first, most likely by end of this year. And for those that are not aware, Crystal Snow, at least here in the video, is sung in Japanese, not Korean, because it is primarily targeted for Japan ARMY. But great to see their singing performance because practically all of them have never sung professionally (nor sung at all) before they signed with BigHit/Hybe. And since BTS know the Japanese language, I would love to see a collaboration between BTS & Band-Maid, that would really help get the Maid's even more public exposure because of BTS's already global "domination". Is that a Maid pun, because the Maids can learn a thing or two about world domination by BTS. Genre-wise, they could do a song in rock-metal-rap, which would also help circle it back to Seo Taiji, the Father of K-Pop, who inadvertently ushered in the KPop idol industry as a metal-hiphop musician 3 decades ago (who BTS collaborated with in 2017). Jin & Miku can share high notes, heh. Trivia: BTS & Band-Maid both debuted in 2013, a few months apart.

Thank you so much for your reaction and noting how good all the members are. And very well done for laying your hands on a version that has Jin's legendary triple high note. Usually I have to watch the fancam version which caught it. And also well done for noting V's freakish range - he's the baritone but can falsetto with the best of them. May I suggest you react to their live performance of "Dionysus" - the 2019 MAMA version also has a smack-in-your-face insane choreo but I mention this song mostly because both V (at the start) and Jin go immediately from basso to falsetto and V does a staccato vocal run. Rapper and vocalist both, they all kill it. My only regret is that Jin's screaming high note at the end was too difficult to do while hopping up to the table and so had to be in the backing track. I think it was Jimin who once explained how they decided who sings which line - all the vocalists sing the whole song, then they decide who sings which lines for the recording and performances. You can see this process in action in their "In the Soop" series, season 1, when they developed the theme song for the series. Also I appreciate that you are so familiar with the boys that you call J-hope Hobi. Speaking of Hobi, he performed a song titled "Jamais Vu" with Jin and Jung Kook (not live, alas, it was an online concert in 2020 called Bang Bang Con) there are a couple of versions with English subs. One is Enjoy Bts More - DON'T USE THIS - this is one of the rare instances when they thought they knew more than the people who made the video and did vertical crops of the screen to just show the active singer so you lost the dynamic action of the three moving around. There is a version by "LoveYourselfv" that has English subs and respected the original video. Beautiful song and I love this especially the layering of Jin and JK's passionate vocals with Hobi's tender counterpoint.
