This is a lovely song. Jin’s voice stood out. People forget that Jimin was chosen because of his dancing skills. He was pretty much on his own when singing till later (JK & Tae received vocal training while Jimin had to pick up hints by listening while they were being coached)

True...I can't also believe the camera man did not show Jin's shining moment of doing his epic and iconic triple note. They should have known this special part of Jin. I know a lot of people were so disppointed and even mad. Some people and reactors even thought this was Jimin (nothing against Jimin). And just so thankful that there were fan cams that were able to have videos which focused on Jin doing the triple high notes.

i'm a jin bias. he's my rockstar balladeer! hahaha you see, jin is an emotive singer. his singing style is very intentional lyrically or what the song wants you to feel... so in epiphany, it's a revelation and a liberation. hence, his "screaming" during the high notes. he has a very strong chest voice that he doesn't need to shift to falsetto to reach certain high notes. he knows when to use "tension" to make you feel the song even more. i've heard epiphany live twice... and it was nothing short of perfect. :) of course i absolutely adore all 7. they're all rockin it. it's a mere matter of preference. 💜 a lil trivia -- it's not said much but their vocal coach was interviewed and she said that instead of saying jin improved, she said jin changed... and it's tougher than starting from zero. jin had been learning theater style singing and had to change to a pop/hip hop style, which is almost impossible to achieve. he's always had the talent but he unlearned and learn a new style... of course his hard work paid off and there's absolutely progress. he's been complimented by experts for his vocals. 💜

I couldn’t imagine myself tryin to learn how to sing & dance while being surrounded by already talented members back then. Plus the pressure from bighit & the idol industry. Jin is outstanding as always in this. His voice is crystal itself. It's crazy how all four of the vocal line are so incredibly talented with such wide ranges in terms of style and notes. BTS is a septuple threat, and there will never be another group like them.

The difference between how Jin approaches his upper register in this and Epiphany is not about improvement, as these performances were at around the same time. It's simply a stylistic choice to suit the song. He used more falsetto in this song because it needed to be more dream-like or ethereal. He used his mix to belt in Epiphany for impact. In the past, he had really pushed to get the notes out, but by this point he was skilled enough to make stylistic choices.

Crystal Snow is such a vocally amazing song. I love how you pointed out V’s runs in the chorus because I love whenever he does that, but I felt like I was the only one that noticed it. Jimin’s high notes, Jin’s iconic triple high note, Jk’s vocals at the end… I don’t I just feel like everything fits so well together in this song. To me personally, I love this song for Jin but I feel like the song where he shows his range really well is in Dionysus. From the deep voice in the beginning to the high scream in the end. Jin is just great, can we all just agree?

Also its not really their fault I don't think. Pretty sure camera directors are the ones who direct the cameraman to do what angles and capture what shots at what times right? Because each camera man can't possibly know when and how and where all the other cameramen should be doing their jobs. Only the person who oversees everyone and 'directs' them can. They're just doing their jobs I think, tho people often blame the cameraman themselves, a lot of times its not that simple😅

But more often than not they focus on the main person singing at the time not the people hitting the adlibs and stuff. In smaller cases like during dimple they didn't catch jin hitting notes in the back either. It's just like that sometimes I guess😮🤷🏾‍♂️

I hate this too because do you realize how many debates I've had to get into because half of this fanbase dont know that a lot of the highnotes are Jin? In We are Bulletproof:Eternal a lot of people dont realize its Jin hitting that high note, and a lot of people tried to say it wasnt Jin in Crystal Snow until the fancams were posted. Jin has always been a good singer (yes even in their debut year) so giving him proper cameratime is needed like, if his talents are winning the group kma's because of his vocals having the camera show him at work is the least they could do.

Thank you for your reaction. I love this song and I particularly love Jin's voice. Triple high note has passed into the legend of BTS but let us not forget about Jimin's high note run which is also awesome. They all performed so well. That poor cameraman who missed the triple high note must have got an earful from irate ARMYs, just as well a fancam got it even though the video quality wasn't too good. I'm sorry I cannot remember the show they were rehearsing but there is a video where V was clowning around in between songs and he sang Nessun Dorma. Astounding! Jung Kook once referred to Epiphany as the song that only Jin hyung can sing.

I never followed KPOP before and when I met BTS (they literally suddenly showed up), I was amazed at their vocal quality. Many groups sound good on recording but not live or they only have one good singer and the rest are accompaniment. Instead here, we have 4 incredible singers and performers, each with incomparable qualities and maintaining their own style. Suga has said that she would sometimes stare at them on stage and think: "really how good they are" and I agree. Each of them has worked hard: JK came with an innate talent but still when he was chosen as the main vocalist, he sang in all places and times. He stopped his formal singing lessons because he felt that his vocal identity was being taken away from him. Suga describes him as the most talented artist he has ever met and Tae as the best voice in SK. Tae was only considered to do the "grungy" parts of the songs and his singing teacher would scold him for his singing...lol, it ended up being his big style. Jimin was the one who had the least preparation because he entered last and only had singing lessons later on, but he sneaked into Tae and Jk's classes. Jin had no experience in music (Tae played the saxophone, JK liked to sing, Jm danced), yet he was like a diamond in the rough that he had to discover. The other members have praised his professional growth. Sorry for the length... there's a lot I didn't say and I didn't refer to the rap line, which is also amazing... and I never liked rap lol.

I absolutely love love love this song. Jin’s note is amazing. V and JK’s voices together is stuff made of the imagination. This song is always on my playlist more than once. This is along with Magic Shop, Mikrokosmos, Lights, Film Our, Your Eyes Tell. All of their voices are mind blowing. This is a truly BEAUTIFUL song. I guess you can tell I like this song 😊😊😊. So impressed with Jin and his overall progress from day 1; this song in particular he sings absolutely beautifully! Jimin, though, will always be my bias because his voice is ethereal; that’s no slight on Jin because the two simply have completely different vocals. When I first fell down the rabbit hole, of BTS, it was because of Jimin’s unique angelic sound and incredible dancing. Like that person has been reacting to BTS for almost a year, but he still can't differentiate their voices(especially after being a producer himself) and would just give Jin's high notes or harmony or adlibs credits to Jimin(since Jimin is does alot of high notes in BTS songs too, not trying to shade Jimin here).

I love that you appreciate Jin's voice. Just wanted to point out though, that Crystal Snow actually preceded Epiphany. I think the difference is that the notes in Epiphany where you can see his veins aren't in falsetto as were the ones in Crystal Snow that you mentioned. I think this one of my all time favorites. The vocal line just slays and the rap line just goes about their business like its nothing at all. Jimin and Jin definitely stand out in this song, but I definitely do notice V and I think he sometimes doesn't get the credit he deserves but he was amazing in this song too, JK as well. I think that whether u have a straight bias, or are OT7, or anything in between….there are moments in all their songs were they just reach u…where you just smile without even thinking…that’s the best part. I love that u smile as soon as Jin does something amazing, and don’t think you’ve ignored anyone else in the process. I smile like that as soon as I see Joon, but in diff songs they all do that cause they are each so incredible Jin is so admirable imo, coming from a place of knowing nothing.
