A lot of people looked down on RM and Suga for “betraying hip hop” because they went from rapping underground to being in a KPOP idol group. RM and Suga were doing an interview with a rapper named B-Free and he said that RM and Suga weren’t real rappers because they’re in an idol group and they wear makeup on stage. He said that wearing makeup makes them girls, not rappers. So to prove all the haters wrong, RM, Suga, and J-Hope created the Cypher series to show that, just because they’re in a KPOP idol group, doesn’t mean they can’t rap.

Supreme Boi used to be a member of BTS back when they we're still training. Basically, he dropped out of BTS to be a producer but stayed in BigHit and he actually participates in the production of a lot of BTS songs(btw, Suga was also going to drop out of BTS to become a music producer before they promised him that BTS would be a k-hip-hop group!). Anyways, he's really good friends with BTS and he was the one talking in the beginning of Cypher pt 2(correct me if I am wrong) and I believe he produced the beat for Cypher pt 2 also.

Supreme Boi and RM have known each other since at least middle school, and he has been working with BigHit almost as long as RM has. He's helped produce many of BTS's most popular songs, and even worked on JHope's mixtape and RM's recent playlist "Mono," which both dropped in 2018. He's also listed second as a writer for "Idol" which means he played a pretty big part in writing it. So they still work with him regularly. He may have worked on music or projects with other artists that have questionable lyrics, and he may have said some questionable things himself, which I don't condone, but unless you know him personally it's impossible to know what his real thoughts and motivations are. And unless the members of BTS make an official comment on what they think of him, it's impossible to know if they are still friends with him. He is a talented musician, and still a young man with a lot to learn (I'm sure I said and did some questionable/stupid things at 24!!), so my hope is that the members of BTS and the other producers at BigHit are a good influence on him.

seriously, the rappers in bts get soooo much hate just for being themselves, and just for breathing... (in this song, RM was referring to the underground rappers he used to look up to, who insulted him and bts during an interview with them. rm was so heartbroken and felt rejected by the rap scene and dealt with a lot of identity issues. but he came out of that with some hella good diss tracks haha) that’s the perfect example of life giving them lemons and them making lemonade :)
