I love your reactions! Fun Fact: if you google rapline and look at the pictures you'll find BTS rapline pics all over the screen. (for fun also google: :] ) Other fun fact: whenever Suga comes on the mic you get a warning: either he - on rarer occasions others - will wisper "Suga" It is also on recordings. Once for a collab recording he forgot and they had to rerecord because it is such a trademark that it needs to be there. You nice! Keep going! 💜

Did you know that j-hope revised the original lyrics of his verse (it was written in 2014) to express his current thoughts? Old: And wherever I go, there’re all those hip-hop losers New: And wherever I go, there’re all those people going through their childish envy Old: Our positions are proportional, you should be too busy to slander me New: Our positions are exceptional, I’m too busy to be slandered by you Old: But when I feel a bait, I bite, all the unnies [older women] call me, beep-beep New: I'm thirsty, surfin' on the beat, I’m a fish swimming in the water [these are the slightly altered opening lines from “MORE” in which he basically says that he’s finally in his element] Old: Yeah, my country is Korea, all those ignorant rappers babbling sloppy English should look who’s standing above them New: Yeah, this is Busan, all those bullshit-babbling people out there should look who's standing above them

A great thing about them performing cypher 3 and screaming "you cant control my shit" is that this concert was SUPPOSED to be the deciding factor that the government would use to see if BTS would be exempt from the mandatory military service which the gov spent YEARS going back and forth. But RIGHT after this concert, they sent out an announcement saying the boys have decided to participate in their military duties. Straight up said "fuck you, ill do what i want"

I was there. I never listened to rap before I began following BTS, and I was always drawn to more melancholy and muted songs too. The guys had already managed to make me listen to rap (only theirs, funnily enough I still don't enjoy it as a genre), but I did not understand quite how powerful these songs are until I saw them performed live. When the Ugh and Cypher segment started, you could literally feel the energy coursing from the stage into the stadium. It was electrifying and those two songs remain some of my best memories of the Busan concert (and of my life, really). I am a rap line convert forever.

The Busan concert had to be difficult for them. They knew this was the last performance together for a long time. They had to break for military service. We are proud of them but needless to say it was a knife to the heart for a lot of Army who watch them daily and love and worry about them. We knew it was coming BUT what a surprise. I have been enjoying your reactions to BTS. It always seems so much more meaningful coming from a musician who understands the stage. I ALWAYS find their live performances to be even better than their studio work. BTS took a lot of flack…especially in their early days. They came from a small agency whereas most successful artists in Korea came from one of 3 big agencies. They wrote and produced their own music (not always the case in the idol industry). Early in their careers (while they were still teens), RM and Suga were invited to a Hip Hop round table discussion. What it turned into was the other rappers at the event (mostly a guy named B-Free) ridiculing them, telling them they sold out for moving from underground rap to the idol system and calling them girls for wearing makeup onstage. It was a humiliating experience and not at all what they were expecting….they were blindsided. Basically RM and Suga sat there and took their criticism gracefully, tried to respectfully explain their position, then went home and put pen to paper to express their rage. So…thank you B-Free for helping to give us these masterpieces..lol. Sorry for the long rant..thanks for reacting.
