Jhope is prime definition of an excellent hip hop artist. As a listener it would be a lie if you cannot sense the level of effort, love, and passion he always puts to his works. I am fascinated with the flow of the whole album, it well put together from the message, music, rap and storyline. He share how he got his name (Pandora box), the passion that he have (more & arson), his vision (future), his worries (what if, safe zone), the deep meaningful message (= sign, stop) - basically the entire songs got me so fire up. Thank you Knox for the reaction I especially like when you said the reason you can dissect the album well is because the amount of quality Jhope have poured into 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

"Equal Sign" reminded me of "Where is The Love?" so much. The message and the beat was a good reference/shout out. Love the song, but at the same time it saddens me to know that after all these years, we're still dealing with the same issues 😕
@aarceeandtannies22172 жыл бұрын
Yes! I thought I was the only one thinking abt this...Hobi used the melody of "Where is the love?" by The Black Eyed Peas w/c also talks abt DISCRIMINATION but the POV was stating the problem. With "= (EQUAL SIGN)", HOBI GAVE AN ANSWER. 😭🔥💜

I was just thinking of that song last night.. i love both songs... Where Is The Love? is one of those songs that made me vibe with rap and also made me picky to what songs I should listen to these days because of the lyrics
@quicklyday432 жыл бұрын
I think he used this melody of "Where's the love?" Because it was like telling us the problem of this world, like a giving us a math question which is why Hobi give us his Equal sign(which means his Answer on this Problem) He responded back by using the same melody of Where's the love

This was totally unexpected from HOBI but it felt like it’s so him even tho it was the first time we are seeing this side of him musically and visually . It made me believe that hobi can make anything his own and he can master any kind of genre easily, he is truly an ARTIST the album overall was a masterpiece and it gets better every time I listen to it

Jack In The Box needs to be played in order. It really does something. What a journey! 47:21 that's exactly him, he's a sweetheart with a deep love & gratitude for hip-hop 🥺 whenever I listen to him in his vlives, watch him dance freestyle, behind the scene clips, vlogs- he humbles me. And the way he carries himself as the dance captain so patient and professional when on-stage. He's one hell of a guy. His music speaks for itself on who he is, he's a genuine good guy (sunshine if you will) The golden hyung indeed. He's a true ace. He can do anything so well!!! He joined as a dancer, learned rap/songwriting/producing/singing/acting/etc for fun, & now he's the greatest dancer in the world (I mean dancing plus his musicality?? what a powerful combination that he can move his body and turn a song into his own choreography, with godly *precision* and control), one of the main musical pillars/songwriter/composer of the biggest boyband in this decade, besides making his own brand in the rap genre- his vocals are not lacking as well, his personality is that of a sun with empathy that is so infectious he just shines so brightly, he's the greatest listener and someone you can truly rely on (RM, the leader of BTS acknowledge that J-hope is the second leader, he handles the performance & mood so well) but he never once boasted anything about it. It took him for Jack In The Box to release for him to say it outloud to us, that he is great and it shows from where he's standing now and he'll continue to do even better. I'm just so proud of him. I'm truly grateful for this album. I was born to stan j-hope and he's the light my soul needed. He's amazing ^♡^

Oh think someone said but j-hope is kind of a beat boxer too. Well maybe not professionally but he is damn good at it! He’s a very flow-rhythm type of soul. And as a person, man he’s a ‘battery charger’ as Suga has said. He always picks people up and projects that positivity. I think he really needed to talk about how it’s not possible to be that person 24/7 and that’s why this album is so personal and brilliant!

Not because of you but because where they go assholes follow and it can ruin things. But you said your shit and this was maybe my favourite BTS live you’ve done! You had so many people watching too and the vibe was good and all about music! I hope saying that wouldn’t put you off BTS anyway as you know how hard I stan haha. But you said the absolute right shit! It’s your live, your space and you protected that. Man this was awesome. Thank you so much!

Bro that's the best news that you'll keep reviewing BTS/the rappers on the main! It's clear that they are trying to move away from the Idol industry and do things their way (that's what they've always done) and anyone who is serious about music can see that they grew 'beyond' Kpop (however you want to view Kpop) years ago. This was an amazing live, j-hope started this new chapter off with a bang. I loved how you interpreted the lyrics too! I know it must be so hard trying to keep up with lyrics, chat and the idiots lol but I'd definitely recommend revisiting the Stop lyrics in your own time - very up your street! Especially when he's talking about how he can't believe humans can do such awful things but should he go back to basics and approach it by looking at the environment they're living in, the education system etc. It's just opening people's minds to more understanding of others, I love that message and in Equal Sign and What If!

Another great album review and my applause to your freestyle rapping. My favorite on the album is definitely = especially love Hobi's singing vocals. Fun facts if you didn't know, the Korean word for arson, banghwa, has a double meaning of both arson and also prevention of fire which plays into his lyric as well so in the Korean language the meaning of the word changes according to the context of the sentence. This album was definitely 🔥

I watched the other stream before hopping on this one. You and I have the same favorites. ARSON and Equal Sign. I think Safety Zone and More are up there as well. I also love his intro Pandora's Box. I would love to yell that chorus as a fan chant at Lollapalooza, but I think that other ARMY's will have to do that and give J-Hope the love he deserves. 💜

Omg you were so awesome to watch ! Yeah I agree this is J-HOPE going back to where he started . I also said and yes some didn’t like it but I said this 1 week after being introduced to BTS is that J-HOPE must go solo in order to grow !!! He must be allowed to be a grown up like they are asking in thier last couple songs BTS came up with . I am sooooooo Happy he finally is show he is a grown up and went solo . FINALLY !!!! NO Stopping J- HOPE ! His mix in 2018 went no. 1 in 68 countries broke records and he is now breaking his records !! But any way you were extremely awesome to watch thank you 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🇺🇸

J-Hope's 'Jack in The Box' is his love letter to hip-hop and storytelling. I love the conscious messages ("Equal Sign" is a true standout) and the two different sides to the LP (Plus that Ol' Dirty Bastard sample is brilliant) a tweet by Jeff Benjamin.

Wow, I loved the reaction, Knox! Thank you for your thoughts on Hobi’s album! I love hearing what you have to say about music and how you analyse it (ngl the first person I go to for an Eminem song breakdown is you) and I always get hyped when you react to BTS knowing how attentive to details and thorough you are with music (especially rap). It would be a delight for me to see you react to RM’s second mixtape (a playlist, as he called it) named Mono (he gets really philosophical and poetic in this one), as well as Suga’s second mixtape under his other name - Agust D (the name of the album is D-2). They approach some incredible subjects in them and I would love to hear your thoughts on their views about those subjects. I know you would enjoy it a lot! Thank you again for your reactions! I always appreciate your insight on music no matter the artist. I get so happy when I see people with knowledge in this domain post reactions and get deep into it bc it helps us fans understand and appreciate the work our artists do even more. Until next time, stay safe and healthy!

You did miss a small part of Stop's message! It's not just talking about how he can't comprehend what's going on in the world, it was him talking about not judging people based on one action you might see in the news. He says that people are a product of their environment, their upbringing, their social status, and are they really so different from him?

Thank you for upbraiding spammers. I rarely watch live streams of any reactor, even one as erudite as you, because the stream of commenters only interested in advancing their own interests and not interacting about the content the reactor is covering often takes over. Heavily graffitied neighborhoods rarely feel comfortable. A reactor who says I am not going to take it, this is my neighborhood, has my strong respect. A reactor with your ability to interpret an artist's intentions musically, lyrically or however sadly should never be put in a position to manage children. J Hope says "Stop" and I imagine you felt the same.

And I’m so glad to have someone really go through his flows and voice control, because he really is so good and very easy on the ears! Definitely the second half turns more reflective after the interlude and I love the lyrics in Stop, reminding us all that it’s too easy to judge others for their actions without understanding them or their personal circumstances. Great analysis and very happy they’ll be staying the main channel haha! No seriously, thanks man!
