4:50 I'm not sure they *do* entirely fathom their impact, given how often they ask us why we stay with them, or question whether they're deserving of so much adulation. I think the times it's brought home to them are when they get *direct* feedback from ARMY-- like now, with JK, or when Jimin did the PIXID "find the impostor" game with some provincial fans, and cried when he read their responses to why the fandom is important to them. When that happens, they're really, really moved and touched (and humbled). I think it's almost TOO big for them to think about most of the time. I've thought about this a lot. And I think... it's also because their impact IS bigger than them. Part of why ARMY loves them so much is definitely *them,* their music, their lyrics, the amazing human beings they are. But a very important part is also ARMY-- the spark they've lit in us, the connections they've given us. What they've encouraged US to do, the way that WE have grown and become better people because of their words and example, the lifelong friendships born out of THEIR fandom. It's celebration and gratitude and found family. What's getting reflected back to BTS isn't only the love and pride we have for them, it's the love and pride we have in ourselves, because they helped us get there. It's a virtuous cycle, and it's an EXTREMELY powerful one.

I absolutely agree with this. Namjoon has touched on this in a 2021 interview -- he said that "when you are at the eye of hurricane you just can't find it, so when that hurricane goes away is the time we can find the answer." regarding why BTS is so popular. If they are able to get direct, individual feedback within the millions of voices, it does always seem to deeply move them.

Something I really like about JK is that he never shames ARMY, but he doesn't ignore when fans take it too far either. He will say that finding him(stalking), sending him things, calling him, and all that is not okay and that people shouldn't do that. It's not okay. But he only addresses the people that do it, never ARMY as a whole. This does not shame or mean anything good or bad compared to other members, just something to compare it to and my personal experience with it: -We have had members of BTS say ARMY has changed in an obviously not good way. Which is 100% true. We have a surge of new fans as well as shippers and people joining their lives just to be creepy. I hate it, but I am not one of them and hate to be put in the same group as them. They ruin the vibe and ARMY and BTS enjoyment together. -Then we have members that never address(publicly) anything bad fans do. Which is 100% fine and is their choice, I totally understand and don't expect them to do anything more. But JK somehow balances showing unconditional love towards ARMY and telling us his boundaries as well. I have never felt shamed when JK expresses his displeasure with some "fans". His relationship with ARMY somehow seems so simple. I can't imagine it is, but he has never expressed otherwise(other than he finds it hard to connect with us via social media). But after he got comfortable on Vlive/Wevers(live show), he has been nothing but open and casual with us. He finally found the site that works for him connecting and interacting with ARMY💜

I think some of hits it I think is that he has gone live more then the other members and has had the most recent ssaeng behavior . All the members when things like this happened and they were live around the time period they all talked about it. For example someone during a radio show with Suga talked about how the company doesn’t spend enough for him/members and he has direct and said if you are someone that says this then be quiet and get out because be knows how much the spend because he is in the middle of it…anyway they all have had their moments but I think bemuse Jungkook has been live more and also has made some of the most/worst ssaeng before recently so he has talked about it… I think all the members know the difference between ARMY and ssaengs and even causal fans.

When JK was watching the “Love Letters” video, that was indeed a very intimate moment between him and the fans watching. It was late at night and I think they had live subtitles that time (which they don’t always have); so international ARMYs could follow and respond to what was going on in real time. Everybody who is familiar with JK’s personality a little bit realised immediately that this was special and it was real. The chat filled with purple hearts instantly (that’s what he was referring to when he said “There’s a lot of purple around today!” - his purple lights and then his screen turning purple all over). There were no stupid comments or awkward questions in the chat, just pure love and words of comfort and support. There was not a dry eye in the house, I’m sure!

I actually think that these lives are as important for JK himself as they are for Armys. I mean, he is on his own first time in his life without his members 24/7. …. Some guys are already serving in the military and he is about to do the same sooner than later… He might also not be as crazy .busy as he used to be and not having that hectic schedule any more might be rather overwhelming. So I think that he feels a great need in talking to fans and really needed to see these songs made for BTS and to feel this connection once again. ❤

He said in another recent livestream that he wants his relationship with ARMY to be one where we can pass each other on the street and say "Oh! Jungkook?" "Oh, ARMY?" and then go for food together and hang out, then go home separately afterwards. He truly considers ARMY to be equals rather than just fans. Of all of the members, JK is the one for whom I think the parasocial relationship has the fewest boundaries. Especially recently as the members have all started or are getting closer to starting their military service, he's reaching out to ARMY more and more, I suspect because he needs the stability and reassurance. If BTS were currently doing group promotions I think he would probably look for the same support from the other members. But since everyone is busy with their own schedules right now, and it's therefore likely harder to just meet them when he needs to talk or wants to be around "his people", he turns to ARMY instead, who are just as much "his people" as the other members.

That's def how I interpretated his many many live streams with us. He grew up with his hyungs. He probably only barely remembers life without them. Now that everyone is doing solo projects and service, he's alone for the first time, although of course, staff are there I'm sure that he cares about too. But ARMY is the eighth member of BTS and when he reaches out, we are ALWAYS there for him. He never has to ever be alone, if he wants company. And we're not strangers because we know almost as much about him, as his members do! So we tell him the stories he needs, the rehashing of the past that families do together.

6:40 Jimin and Jung Kook have both said that they often wonder what we're all like (ARMY), what we do in our every day, what kinds of things we like to do. and Taehuyng often researchers ARMY vlogs on KZbin, he loves watching ARMY's reactions to songs etc. and Jung Kook is always looking up ARMY content on Tik Tok. So I think they all to a certain extent try to fulfill that curiosity about us either by wondering or by researching and seeing what we're up to. It's so beautiful! 😭

You wondered what BTS thinks about how many people they have helped with their music. They actually have a song that you may want to react to that answers that question. It's called Louder Than Bombs. It has no video and has never been performed live. However, a survey of ARMYs was done, asking what song they wanted to see performed live the most and Louder Than Bombs was at the top of the list. When they found that out, the boys said that they will definitely perform it for us at some point.

But louder than bombs is one I immediately really liked even though or maybe because it has a melancholic tone to it. I was in that live he listened to love letters twice. He also listened to two other songs made by army. He said he wanted to learn the lyrics to love letter ti sing it for us. He also said that army should pit all the different songs on an album so je can buy it from us. He wanted to know how to repay us. Oh whrn he pointed at the camera and said alot of purple we were sending him alot of purple hearts and telling him not to cry. We laughed and cried with him in this live.

I think you're quite a bit younger than me Max, but I grew up without the internet. How powerful is this tool, that connects ARMY to our bias, and we can literally chat with him, and also with millions of other like minded people around the world in real time. It changes lives in very very real ways. So different than TV was for me, watching actors and musicians. Communicating with them was impossible. You might go to a concert and wave a sign they would never read, or write a fan letter lost among millions. True, JK doesn't read all the comments that appear on his screen, but the ones he does affect his actions and his feelings in that very moment for us to see. Sometimes I sit back and really marvel at how things have changed.

I was watching this livestream live and the most adorable thing was asking ARMYs while crying: "Is this how ARMYs feel when we make a song for you?" I was almost screaming to the monitor: "Yes, Kookie! That's exactly how we feel!" PS. I hope that's just a lack of research on your part but to advertise such a shady company as Betterhelp while speaking about BTS' "therapeutic" effect is... ehhh... I'm lost for words and I don't wanna use bad ones. For those who don't know - they were caught using unlicensed "therapists" without vetting them first, leaking users' personal data to Facebook among others, sharing users' health data with third parties and who knows what else that wasn't uncovered yet. Some ARMYs are in vulnerable condition mentally and it isn't ok to advertise this company to them. I'm really hoping that this wasn't done purposefully...

The interesting part is that most people do not know Korean and do not fully understand what he is saying on the live broadcast. He broadcast for almost 3 hours today and he was angry with himself for forgetting the lyrics while singing together at Suga's concert during the entire broadcast. He asked us to call the company or persuade yoongi to sing again at the concert tomorrow.

Aside from connecting to the many people from all over the world and how much he helped, he might also connect to those personal memories of doubt, hardship and difficulties those old photos reminded him of. Somehow despite their hardships, they helped ARMY and ARMY helped them: synergy. In 10 years, he has come a long way. He might also miss the only life he has known since childhood now he lives alone, with just the web vs having someone he could wake up and watch breathing. From never being alone to being on his own, it might be a difficult transition.

That’s what I was thinking, too: The memories of special BTS moments probably touched JK, too, because he was part of it, it was a very intense time, and it all happened during a very formative phase of his life. And it’s only now during their (non-)hiatus that he gets to processing what he has experienced in his young life.

What a lovely genuine reaction from JK!! 😌 Although this is not a new video, something I haven't found many analytical videos on is the interaction between Bang Si-Hyuk and the members of BTS on the Grammys red carpet 2022. The footage itself doesn't go for that long, but I'd be curious of your perspective of that event. We all know Bang PD has a soft spot for RM and has openly talked about how he felt protective of him and wanted to nurture his career, and Jin has proudly shown photos of Bang cooking him food and smiling, but I wonder if he's necessarily that close to all of them.

I was a bit surprised to see JK being so “clingy” with us recently, doing lives so frequently and hanging out with us just like that … Knowing now what we didn’t know then, I think JK was (and possibly still is) pretty stirred up. He had his “Seven” single come out and did promotions for it, which he apparently enjoyed and could almost not get enough of, then he knew he would make a guest appearance at Suga’s concert and how meaningful that concert would be for Suga, then he “messed up” (his words, not mine!) that performance, he already knew another one of his hyungs will join the military soon and will practically be out of reach for him most of the time, plus the uncertainty that comes with their enlistments for their careers as BTS and individually … So he was probably emotional and had all kinds of thoughts running through his head, and his way of dealing with that was to turn on Weverse and “phone” his 20 million aunties for some comfort and reassurance. 🫠
