Three things about Outro: Tear... - The Dior performance at Wembley stadium is just *chef's kiss* - There's actually a third meaning of tear in the song: Suga says T.E.A.R. in his verse. That's a psychological technique to deal with grief. It goes: T: To accept the reality of loss E: Experience the pain of the loss A: Adjust to the new environment without the lost person R: Reinvest in the new reality (Their lyrics are freakishly ingenious) - Their award acceptance speech from MAMA 2018 is an ARMY classic. Jin talked about them nearly disbanding and they absolutely broke down on stage. 😢

Also, Hobi in the end of this track, literally WHAT THE FCK, it made it SO more powerful!! Like, it usually would be him singing that last part and probably Yoongi making that hard rap, but NO?? He took it and did it masterfully, making it so powerful because it was completely unexpected and to hear Hoseok sound so desperate is always such a heartbreaking situation, it's such an impactful way of finishing the song! 💜

I have never been a rap fan. Never. That being said, when I first heard this live, from Wembley, by the time they finnished I had chills and I was surprised to find tears streaming down my face. I didn't even know the deeper meaning of this song at that point. As great as they are live this one performance must be up there with the best live performances ever. Not just BTS, any live ever. Special. Plus those black Dior outfits are fire. Jim, you have to watch it live. As impressed as you were with studio version, the live is like 100 times more powerfull. It's a piece of art. Golden standard. Every singer should watch it as an example of what level of performance it is possible to achieve on a live stage. Mafnificent.

Wow, you were there! How did you survive?! I have only seen the iconic Wembley day 2 live on screen and it ripped me apart. Like you I was never a fan of rap, but BTS changed that and OUTRO: TEAR has become one of my all time favourite songs by any artist ever. The studio version is already powerful, but that live is devastating!

Oh yeah.... J-Hope left all ARMY on the floor with this one, especially with his legendary live performance of it in his Dior harness.... since he's usually a sunshine when delivers the finishing blow on this album with that sort of emotion it completely kills. Glad you liked it

The “sample” sounded familiar because they played an instrumental version of it in a previous live performance or episode of rise of Bangtan and you liked it and asked the chat what it was so you could watch it later. I think it was an early episode of rise of Bangtan, because I remember thinking, “He’s got a long way to go before he gets to Outro: Tear. I agree with previous commenters that you need to watch the live version at Wembly with English subtitles. That is my favorite performance of the rap line of all time. The passion and desperation they perform it with and the raw pain on their faces elevate it to a whole other level of performance.

The cinematic/score part you are referring to is from the highlight reels. The part where Jin is driving and remembering and narrating and it’s night. Everything turns dark. You see them struggle. The imagery in combination with the music captures the sentiment of the song. That’s why it always gives me chills.

Yeah, I mean they all eat but Hoseok is the one everyone gets their heart chewed up and spit out by. Especially in the live. The delivery is so raw and powerful and sincere. It's gut-wrenching. You can really feel the pain and fear in his voice. He has a really powerful instrument that's naturally full of character and he's so expressive and dynamic even just when talking and I think that adds something really special to his rap.

I think thats the idea of the whole love yourself series. Her is about that fleeting feeling of being in love that's why it's so bright, then when Tear comes it becomes chaos because you start to lose who you really are by hiding in a mask and doing anything just to please the other person, which is a toxic kind of love (fake love). The last installment, Answer is realizing that you should learn to love and accept yourself along with your all flaws and shortcomings (as exemplified by the songs Epiphany and Answer: Love Myself). It can even be seen in the album cover designs of the three, Her depicts the blooming of love (flowers), then love falling apart (falling petals) in Tear, and lastly self-love taking its place (hearts) in Answer. ☺️ The love yourself series is seriously a journey and an experience and the amount of hardwork and dedication these boys had in order to get the message across is just 👌 Thank you for exploring this! 💜 Another fun fact: As early as Epilogue: Young Forever (which is the album before Wings), they already left a teaser for the LY series. if you'll notice in the Fire MV, there is an end message "Boy meets WHAT". It's actually a nod to the LY series-Love Yourself: W(onder), H(er), A(nswer), and T(ear). LY: Wonder is not an album, but a theme/prologue of sorts. It's seen in Euphoria's video. Also lastly, WHAT is mentioned in Outro:Her's lyrics at the end: All of my Wonder, the Answer for that; I call you Her, Her cuz you’re my Tear, Tear

Outro: Tear live at Wembley cont to be one of my fav live BTS performances of all times. I consider that live performance even better than the studio version! You should check out DJ Jino as a reactor btw, you and him are some of the reactors that's i genuinely enjoy, and i think you guys will get along well! He's very well-versed when it comes to Kpop since he has a family history. But the reason why i like you guys is because you are honest when you say whether you like a BTS track or not, and not just liking everything that is BTS just because. And you guys react to all kinds of music, not just BTS. You guys might differ in music taste but i think you can have great conversations with each other! PS: be warned, Jino has a poker face when reacting but went offff when he dont like a track tho, like the guy have very little filter sometimes, so be prepared hahahahahhaha

OUTRO TEAR!!! this is my favorite rapline song EVER! i cried the first time i heard this, i didn't even read the lyrics, but the delivery, the emotions, the way they pour their hearts out, i just know that it came from a very real and personal experience. years later, Yoongi shared that story and everyone will just bop and cry whenever this song comes in. oh, and the live is ABSOLUTELY heart wrenching and beautiful.

You should see the Live of this (I'm only where you're reacting to the lyrics 2nd time). J-Hope really kills it (well, they all do) in the Live, and you can truly see the emotion in them. We also found out they almost disbanded in their award speech at MAMA 2018. They were all crying. Apparently they considered that early 2018. I love how the 3 of them bring different flavors to this song, each in their own angsty way. It's a breakup song but instead of a romantic relationship, it's them as a group. RM sounds utterly sad at the situation, Suga sounds angry and harsh and sarcastic, all coming from a place of feeling hurt, and Jhope sounds almost hopeful in a desperate way, as if he's in denial that it's really the end and is begging for them not to break up. I'm glad they didn't.

I saw this performed in concert before knowing the true meaning. It was by far my favorite part of the whole concert, which is saying a lot, because the entire things is amazing and I'm typically terrible at picking favorites ... the energy! Cinematic: It was produced by SUGA, of course after going through Big Hit and the rap line it might have had it´s changes, but still the base was Yoon's, and he is all about cinematic music, his first video ever in Bangtantv was about sampling Man of nowhere OST (pretty good movie by the way).- Hobi's rawness and Yoon Gi taking the backsit: I feel like Yoon took a resignated part like just feeling the loss, you can say that Seesaw, SUGA's song in the next album follows the line of this one. During his speech at MAMA's at the end of 2018 (the album was released in May, 2018) Hobi cried and it was heart breaking, after that Jin explained the reason behind it, and we finally understood so many things, even Festa 2018s kind of misterious expressions and words. Turns out we almost lost BTS without even knowing, do you imagine for the fans to have such sudden realization? The Truth Untold and Outro: Tear: During the Love Yourself Tour the order was exactly that, The Turth Untold by the vocal line followed by Outro Tear by the rapline, the emotional charge even just watching fancams was damish god, to die for. If I had to choose one BTS, then this is my absolute favorite!!! The meanings in the lyrics and the effects used to emphasize their point. Like in SUGA's part where he raps "T.E.A.R" which a lot of us believe is reference to a psychological method with four tasks/proces of grieving (an acronym: 'To Accept the reality, Experience the pain, Adjust, and Reinvest by J. William Worden's Four Tasks of Mourning). I also love how they used autotune turned up a lot during his delivery to emphasize tearing/feeling torn, like how they've 'torn' the vocals with the autotune turned up. Also layering his vocals almost awkwardly making it sound like they have different opinion, thoughts and people talking,

Uh! I love how you noticed how j-hope was rapping at the last part when there's basically noting left - all hope is gone. And it's exactly why it hits so hard. It's like "when even our sunshine (nickname for j-hope) is gone". Or like he said in his early days about how he choose his name that when you open pandora's box and all that's left is hope ... so when even this hope is gone, nothing is left. I know we love the audio version and can't be moved by it every time. But this doesn't come close to the Live. Outro: Tear makes me cry. When I watch a video of them performing it live, it feels like they have taken my heart out of my chest and are kicking it around with spiked boots…Maybe because I saw them perform this 🤷‍♂️💔 Their pain is very raw, the anger and fear is visceral. Hobi’s last verse, I feel his agony…It leaves me drained. I love it so much, our rap line is incredible. Thank you for this 🙏💜
