Chris Martin recently revealed in an interview that it was actually World Wide Handsome Jin (yes, that's really what he calls him 😅) who initiated the collaboration. Jin is a major Coldplay fan. He and Chris really hit it off and Chris even gifted his own guitar to Jin and dedicated it to World Wide Handsome Jin. 😂 And you're right - it was Fix You that they covered. 💜

Interesting facts: RM & J Hope had attended the Coldplay concert in Seoul 5 years ago. BTS didn't go backstage and never met Coldplay until this collaberation. Also, Coldplay as a band has been together over 25 years, Jungkook wasn't even born yet! Haha!

And Chris had to sit in a small hotel room all alone for 2 weeks in quarantine, only allowed to open the door to pick up his tray when the meals were delivered. It was not easy . Also, there are other interviews Chris did where he says it was Jin who contacted him about doing a song together!

You need to watch The Rise of Bangtan documentary series!! 💜 PLEASE! Every episode is a beautiful blend of informative, raw, funny, inspirational, creative, and emotional. It's just very professionally done and beyond impressive, IMO. (And if I'm not mistaken, ARMYs put the series together which is beyond impressive, IMO.)

👀 if you like documentaries, have y’all been told about “The Rise of Bangtan?” It’s a docu-series on YT made by ARMY about BTS. There are a bunch of episodes (chapters), and they’re done chronologically, so it’s really great context for BTS as people, a group, and for their music. Highly recommend.

Chris went to Korea and when BTS went to New York for their speech at the (United Nations General Assembly as the boys are now SK presidential envoys) both bands meet, record some videos, BTS even gifted the Coldplay band a modern hanbook and had dinner.

Haha, love your reactions. I love your sense of humor! I know you're just joking, but just in case noone has told you: there's an understanding between BTS and ARMY. We don't approach them, hug them or take pictures of or with them in their private zones/on the street. We give them their space and pay respect. That's why RM once wrote that he doesn't mind sharing his favorite place is biking along the Han River, writing in specific parks etc. because he knows ARMY will be respectful. J-hope has a famous saying when people approach and ask for a picture etc. "Sorry sorry. Important business". But keep on making the jokes! I really like it!

Know that Chris flew to Korea during CoViD and Korea had mandatory strict 14 day quarantine protocol. This is probably why BTS were so touched as well in addition to the fact that he decides to do this in person rather than remotely

Korea really made a special COVID exception for Coldplay. If you travel there and have no family to quarantine immediately with, you must quarantine in a hotel room, alone, for two weeks. Tubers XCeleste and Bris just went through it....2 weeks!! Fortunately they are staying long enough to make it worth their while. By the way, if you haven't seen Bris's channel, he attended a talk show filming where BTS was performing and JungKook recognized him as a BTS reactor and gave the giant 6"4' Bris a big hug!

the rise of Bangtan is the best documentary video made by army. There are several series of documentation and continues to grow.if you watch every series I recommend watching bonus content and delete scenes from each series too because there are many valuable scenes in the video. The Rise of Bangtan is the best series that contains BTS' journey .From before they debuted until now

This was filmed last Spring so there were still no venues allowing large groups to gather... hence not being able to perform live at all... not specifically "My Universe"; in fact, Coldplay HAS performed MU live multiple times as of now. :)

It is made by ARMY and really delves into all the crap they had to deal with such as racism and plagiarism claims that were completely false and anti fans who bashed them left and right! Well they got the last laugh because they are the biggest artists on the planet and have broken so many Guinness world records! Their rise is legendary!
