The Rise of Bangtan series is really well done. Aneesa (the creator of The Rise of Bangtan) shared that she has been working on this series (her labor of love) for over 3 years! She is taking viewer on a journey step-by-step from BTS' perspective not looking back on their days but living through them (with them). She edits their content to allow BTS to speak their thoughts, through their experiences at the time because BTS has been documenting themselves since BEFORE their debut, so there is A LOT of material to edit down to tell their story! She also gives an overview of the KPop history for those who are not familiar with the industry. She uses clips from different video clips of other idols/journalists interviews to try to give a broader perspective of the industry. You have to understand that they way she had edited the content is to show how the industry works in South Korea and how BTS and Big Hit are different from the norm. (It's sometimes very subtle) Her skill as a professional video editor really shines through. Amazing work! I think many ARMY really like this series (besides it being extremely well made), she doesn't try to interpret what "she thinks" BTS is trying to say, she just shows the viewers exactly what they said and shared about what their thoughts were at the time. She is an "OG" KPop fan and BTS fan since pre-debut! She also shared that BTS has been the light in her darkness for many years now. She said she will be posting a new chapter every other week bc she's been extremely busy with her new "real" job as a video editor. The final episode (Chapter 18) of Season 3, was just posted. She annouced that the final season of The Rise of Bangtan will begin airing Friday Dec. 31st on a bi-weekly basis. She didn't confirm how many total episodes before this is complete. Take your time and enjoy the journey!

V was the "hidden member". Big Hit did not reveal V until the debut. Their main reasoning was to surprise fans because they called V their "secret weapon". Mostly @ that time for his visual & charm.
@seec48563 жыл бұрын
The members were actually younger than what they said their age was. In Korea people were already a year old when they were born. I think the age goes up a year in January instead of on the birthday too. So when BTS was debuted in June 2013, the members were actually only 20, 20, 19, 18, 17, 17 and 15 from Jin, the oldest follow by Suga, JHope, RM, Jimin, V then Jungkook respectively.

They are truly inspiring. They were genuine from day 1. That’s why army contemplates & appreciates every song, all lyrics, and any content because with BTS, everything is intentionally for army… there’s always a message on how to live better lives. they recognize their reach so they dont take it for granted. This is the reason why army is so hardcore! Lol if you are an outsider looking in, one can describe it as a phenomenon because the relationship of BTS & army is difficult to understand.

I'm sad i was taking a break from kpop when they debuted so I got into them them early 2014 and not 2013 😭 I'm 4 months older than Jungkook, so I was 17 when I got into BTS and he was 17 at the time. So I really got to grow with them, I felt such a strong bond since the things they were singing about where relevant to my life at the time and as I grew up went to college became a young adult, there songs also grew older and there new stuff was relevant to that time of my life. Even though I wasn’t there since debut, i'm proud to say I really grew up right along side with them. Started in high school and now i'm a 24 year old adult with a job and apartment and student debt and bills.

@@onghaeya2595 BTS is for sure one of those groups you can stan for a long time! Its normal to fall in and out with them though. In the sense that sometimes you will be up to date with everything they do and watch all the videos they post, and then other times you half keep up with them. Like I know what they are up to because of Instagram but I havent been watching a lot of there performances and vlives. Also since most of there performances are just there english songs i'm getting a little bored but I know they are behind the scenes working on music for a new album so being patient and waiting is fine by me :)) I also am a multi-stan so in the mean time i'm watching stuff other groups put out, like right now im really into Straykids. But BTS will always be my number one and I hold the boys so near and dear to my heart. I'm also grateful my best best friend also got into BTS the same time as me. We went to our first BTS concert in 2015 and then 2017 and 2018.

1st time i saw the reality show type of videos they make, i was skeptical. Im not a fan of reality shows as i feel its not genuine. So i felt the same way for BTS videos. But im happy i was wrong. That kind of genuine love, mutual respect and brotherhood cannot be fake. You can feel and just can tell. Nothing is fake. Esp when you watch their earlier vlogs... You can feel the continuity of their real attitude. I love these guys. And their artistry? Impressive. I respect other groups hardwork, skills and artistry but for me, none can surpass Bangtan.

There is another recent fan video that emphasizes that BTS's history has been shown is so many small pieces in all of the content that is available. With the Rise of Bangtan they really do a great job of putting together a lot of those pieces. This docu series really is a blessing to older and newer ARMY and anybody who really wants to witness what makes BTS so great. While watching these videos and you go back and listen to the songs they were creating during these times you can really appreciate what they were going through. They shared a lot of themselves from the very beginning and with all their fame and success their personalities have only been through subtle but good changes. They leave arrogance at the door and continue on with hard work, passion and vulnerability and it's why so many people love them. Regretfully I wasn't with BTS from the beginning but I really do appreciate the ARMYs who have always walked along side them to help them over their early hurdles. I hope you guys enjoy the concert, for sure you will have one of the best concert experiences anybody can have but you will also get to see first hand the strong relationship between BTS and ARMY.

In a presentation he made in 2019, Bang PD talks about how when he was a young man his aha moment came when he watched Live Aid on tv. There he saw how music could raise awareness of the human condition and mobilize people to respond and heal that human condition. That became the basis of his philosophy. He also saw an opportunity where it could be a win-win endevor: music for healing and a profitable product. When he decided to create this BTS band, he infused the philosophy (music for healing) into the BTS members. He said he wanted BTS members to always be authentic, not manufactured. He did not (and does not) want a manufactured boy band. So from the start, he would ask the BTS members: what is the story you are trying to tell; why is this important for someone to hear; how will this song heal them. These young men started as young boys who were strangers to each other, living far away from their parents, having to struggle to develop a bond amongst each other. They were each talented but they were young and innocent. They needed structure in order to be able to develop themselves and form the BTS that we know today. They also needed guidance, mentoring, tutoring to hone their talent and learn how the music business works in order to be successful. Bang PD gave them that structure. He became the surrogate father in their lives (an older beloved uncle or brother). He surrounded them with a philosophy where they can build themselves from within as they grow in age. He also made sure that they had the freedom to explore who they are, to experience who they are and then to write about it. So, in my opinion, one cannot compare BTS with any other KPOP or Western Pop group. BTS creates music that is authentic storytelling. There are many in the KPOP world who are "manufactured personas" and their music has no substance. There are many who show they really don't care about anything else other than their own personal success. The same can be said about some Wester Pop groups and individuals who glorify in their own "success" even if their actions are a destructive influence to others (i.e. drugs, drinking excessively, ending up getting charged and going to jail, abusing women, etc). You have not (and hopefully never will) see a BTS member act in this way.

Thank you guys...I wasn't there from the beginning but I wish I would have been. I found kpop on the 4th of July of 2014 by accident on KZbin (it was GD's crayon that I accidentally clicked on). I was blown away with what I heard and had to hear more. Prior to finding kpop I listened to everything from jazz, country, funk, rap, ska, pop, dance, edm, classical, r&b, world, you name it I listened to it. But, once I heard that first kpop song, I immediately fell down the kpop rabbit hole. I am a weirdo and am a bit methodical when it comes to learning something new. I have to start at the beginning. So I went on Wikipedia and got a list of all debuted kpop acts in order of debut and worked my way through the list. I listened to everything I could find on KZbin that had Eng subtitles like interviews, game shows, news, etc. And, I listened to their songs. It was sometime in August of 2014 (I did nothing but learn about kpop for the last 6 months of 2014) and I can't remember which group I was on in the list but I clicked on a video that had subtitles that looked interesting to me but it wasn't the group I was on. Turns out it was an interview with RM and he was talking about his passion for music. First of all, his voice. He had my favorite voice in the whole universe. I could listen to him read the ingredients on a cereal box all day or just hum or whatever. Besides discovering my favorite sounding voice in the universe, I fell in love with his passion for music. It showed through so much in the interview. I could really feel it. And that was it. I became an ARMY and didn't even know what an ARMY was. I forgot all other groups and dove head first into all things BTS. And, here we are today. That is my ARMY origin story. I really wish I could have been there since predebut but I am glad I found them when I did.

Suga's passion for music is really beautiful to witness. He works so hard too. JK's effortless talent and respect for his brothers is just beautiful to see. Says a lot about his character. Jin's ability to let RM lead even though he's the oldest also says a lot about his character. That's true maturity right there. Jhope's genuine personality always just comes through as well. Already excited for the second episode💜💜💜 btw V (Kim Taehyung) has been with them for a long time. He was a surprise member. I've always been hearing BTS songs before and even dance to it. But didn't know it was them. I first recognized and decided to get to know them after hearing their first all english song "Dynamite". I'm not knew to Kpop that time because I already heard songs from different groups, and they were pretty catchy. But i didn't go into depth of getting to know them, that was until i recognized BTS's songs. Their performance hits different, it transcends language barriers, and their sincerity towards their work really shows. You can tell that they've been doing what they do because that is their passion, not because they've been commanded to. As you seen in the video, Bang PD give them freedom but they still worked hard. Their goal is to motivate and inspire others by their music, by sharing their own story, their own journey. But after all this success that they achieved, they stay humble and wants to give back the love that they get, as much as they can. Before, they have dreamt more than they achieve. But now, they achieve more than they could ever dreamed of, by staying true to themselves while having a great teamwork turned into family. Borahae💜💜💜

First of all, thank you for taking time on knowing our boys! Not everyone have the time for this which is understandable, we do still have our own personal lives to deal with. If requests are keep pouring from ARMY please bear with us, just like this series we just want to share what we have experienced to everyone (if possible). You know, good stuff are meant to be shared. I was introduced to 2nd generation of Kpop in 2007, for someone who are more into KShows, thru those shows I able to met them. Mainly knowing more of their versatility & personalities in tv.... plus their title songs but not as much as how I jump into the rabbit hole for Bangtan. Reasons why I can tell that Bangtan's journey is totally different among the rest. Since they dont get much appearances on tv, BH found ways of introducing Bangtan to the world. In short, they have to dig their own path to achieve their dream. I may not got a chance that much to know the people around our boys even before their debut, I can tell from what we keep on witnessing with the boys how beautiful people they are. BTS may not be who they are individually if they ended up in other agencies... this is for sure. Their humble beginnings, the good-hearted people around them have a big influence on who they're now.

The docuseries did a good job conveying what is the norm in the kpop industry (the toxic aspects) and then highlighting how BTS diverges from all of it. BTS had a lot of freedom to do whatever they wanted and convey whatever message they wanted, meanwhile other musical labels would force strict control upon their trainees/idols. BTS still worked really hard but it was more of a self-driven process to compete with the industry but not with each other. It's also unique that BigHit was tiny and basically had no trainees besides BTS, unlike other labels with 100s of trainees and everyone essentially fought for a spot to debut. The culture was very different. Think of BigHit as a tiny unicorn startup and they did everything their own way. This is a great series! Aneesa (the creator of The Rise of Bangtan) shared that she has been working on this series (her labor of love) for over 3 years! Correct pronunciation is Bahng-tahn Soh-nyeon-dahn (this Korean character ㅏ is ah sound). In Korea, you are 1 when you’re born, so you’ll need to subtract 1 for international age. Middle school in Korea is 7-9th grade (you’ll hear “middle school first year, 2nd year; high school 1st year, 2nd year”, etc). So JK’s first log was when he was 16, 9th grade.

I found kpop with groups like KARA and Super Junior way back in 2011 or something when I was in middle school. Then I kinda got into the group BEAST (which was later renamed Highlight). THEN I randomly found my first true love of kpop B.A.P. I got so emotional when their song started playing in this documentary. At that time (2013-2014) I knew about BTS but I didn't follow them at all. It wasn't until War of Hormone in 2015 that one of my friends in college reintroduced them to me and I became obsessed with them, and that was right before the Most Beautiful Moments in life eras too. AHHH all this is so nostalgic for me to think about. I loved these videos cause you can really hear from all sides of the kpop industry and really dive in deep. Also there was a lot of BTS footage that I have never seen as well. Truly wonderful stuff.

Ooo. Shout out to those of us going on the 28th! So excited! This documentary series is really good. As a relatively new ARMY, it really helped me understand what they went through and it's almost like living it with them. But it makes me wish that I had discovered them earlier so I could be another supporter through their difficult times. All of this content is available if you look for it, but this does such a good job of organizing it for us. And most of the episodes have deleted scenes and bonus content as well, that provides even more background information and also some extra fun moments. I hope you guys watch those as well, even if not on camera, though I would love to see your reaction to it.

Can't say I was OG army bc I wasn't a fan at first, but I did see their logs and covers of songs before they debuted in 2013. I honestly was impressed by their cover/adaptation of Kendrick's swimming pools.

If I remember right, I discovered their vlogs back in 2013 after watching their cover of Taeyangs You’re mine (I was in love with that song 💜). I was curious of them and I was learning Korean at the time, so I found myself always checking for new vlogs. Before I knew it, I was rooting for them and always excited for their releases 💜💜 Been an Army ever since 🎉🎉 I think there was something about them being so open about the entire process which made rooting for them so effortless. And also, don’t we all like an underdog 😉

Your right guys, the amazing thing about all this is for all these fans to know about Bts hard work, to find inspiration in this. This is how I became interested in them, I had heard about them, the name, they getting bigger, bug no music, no mv, no images.. Till I saw a title about Bts Connect project last year, the NY sculpture project, and I asked myself who are these guys, pop music group, from Korea (South).. What is Bts Connect? And from there... Bts big fan!!!!!!

Wow, first concert? This will be your first and best one yet for sure. Post BTS concert is real and serious, based on what I heard from fellow ARMY. Can't wait to see the short film :) They're so inspiring. They really showed that hard work, resiliency, being honest & raw pays off. I believe the one who headed making this fan docu is a filmmaker as well. They really did a good job. Can't wait for you guys to see the rest of the chapters. Again enjoy the concert! Excited for y'all!

( important!)- Notice the CEO HitmanBang mentions he didnt give BTS a mandatory strict schedule, he gave them more freedom than other companies would their trainees, but the boys practiced HARD nonetheless because they are all perfectionists. This would later separate BTS from other groups and would put them were they are now, at the top of not just K-pop but the world. More creative freedom. 💜

32:12 your comment makes more sense with Jimin and V arguing on the dumpling 🥟 Story is Jimin wanted to practice then eat and they agreed but food came along and V was back from the shooting Hwarang and he had no food on his belly and it was a jumbo dumpling 🥟 his favorite kind so he gulped it in no time. They say it last 2 days but outsiders says 2 weeks They made up sitting to each other silent drinking whiskey 🥃 Jimin wrote friends after that and V wrote 4:00 o’clock with a little bit help of RM There’s 2 video of them speaking of it.

The ages they are saying are Korean age which is usually 2 years older than international age. So jungkook was only 14. Jin 20 etc
