@@sariel8406 to be specific, jungkook is a "lead dancer" and taehyung is according to your terms "dancer" since he was acknowledge by the choreographer and many armys said that as well. I'm a taehyung bias for 7 yrs now and no matter what type of dancer he is, he's great. Like what ive said as well they're all great. :)

The autotune is a fairly recent thing... I think Suga's solo song SeeSaw was the first. It's not over done, and just adds an aesthetic. If you want to see them perform it without autotune, try it live. They debuted Black Swan on the James Corden show... no autotune. A gorgeous performance. Speaking of Suga, his most recent MV (as Agust D) is called Daechwita. Very impressive.

Bts has a song on every genre. On is a hip hop kinda song, Dynamite is a disco-y sing, Black Swan has theatrical ballad song, and many many more. U want to listen to a genre, they have a song for that. And yes they do have autotune in the studio version of the song. But it is to enhance the vibe of the song and not to hide their singing. If u want to hear a more raw-er version checking out their live performances 💜💜💜

So excited!! Bear with me while I fangirl and try to explain things as I watch you... First of all, both these songs were off their most recent album Map of the Soul: 7. Map of the Soul: Persona, which you thought they were on, was a (mini) album released in 2019! Omg that pause on Jungkook’s nip slip though, perfect timing hahahah The guy you liked at 5:05 is one of the rappers and main dancer j-hope! Our ball off sunshine :) Yes, they have a song called blood, sweat & tears, that’s the song that birthed most of the international fans they have today, an amazing MV as well... definitely worth checking out ;) Yes they can FUCKING dance!! They never disappoint with insane choreos (main dancer j-hope has helped with choreographing some dances, but they also have a professional choreographer) and as Eric Nam once put it, it’s what made BTS stand out the most when they first debuted, people thought it was “magic” cause their dancing is soo tight 8:13 that guy there is V, one of BTS’ vocalists with a very special and distinct tone (baritone) As to what theatre black swan was filmed in.. I’m pretty sure it was a closed down theatre on broadway or something?? I could be completely wrong though lmao, but I once heard something like that. The guy solo dancing in most of black swan is Jimin, he is a phenomenal contemporary dancer and absolutely ate that shit up That feeling you had with black swan as if it’s an “art piece” is what bts does best. Again, watch the MV for blood, sweat & tears and you’ll have that same sensation They definitely have more raw sounding raps and songs!! The album these songs were in just used a whole lot more autotune than they normally do, it’s not too much but definitely more than usual! A lot of people explained black swan’s meaning in the comments so I’m not gonna repeat what they said lol Hmm, idk where you heard that we were disappointed in black swan, we consider black swan as a queen (as she is) and most of us, including you & me, liked it better than ON. Ok so, watch blood sweat & tears. 100%. And hmm... fake love, that’s probably my favourite title track by them!! LOL SORRY FOR THIS LONG ASS COMMENT but I just wanted to answer all your questions and enlighten you hihi

ON is about perseverance, keep going meet every new challenge head on together. of waking up in strange hotels in countries where they can't understand a thing being said to them. It's a fight and they going to keep fighting together. Oh they can dance they all can dance. Black Swan is about their real fear of losing their passion for their art eg Song Writing, Composing, Producing, Rapping, Singing and Dancing. It's was real for them at one point when they were so over tired and facing hate they talked about disbanding but there's another song about that from the 3 Rappers which had them all in tears and vowing not to disband they took a couple of weeks to rest and didn't disband as it wasn't what they really wanted. So yes real Fear of losing their passion for it is Black Swan. Based on the famous quote from the famous Dancer Martha Graham, " A Dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing and this is the most painful of deaths'. The solo dancer in Black Swan isJimin the martial art's expert and Comtemporary Dancer he put in some tradition dance move's from Brazil that's based on the Brazil martial arts. The Shadow is from Jungian Psychology. There's a traditional Korean instrument within the track.

As someone who has listened through their discography many times, I would hold of in saying that smth is their thing, or explain the way they do things "usually". What was true for one album might not be for the next. They are constantly evolving and exploring. They use music more as tools for expression. "How do we best convey this message". Their musicality is not limited by genres which is one of the reasons why I personally can never get bored with their music. They produce, co-produce, compose and write a lot of their work, but not all. They often emphasise teamwork, within the group but also within the company. There is a lot that goes into it, and it has always been changing with them as they are still getting older and more experienced. It is a privilege to watch what can be achieved with raw talent, undeniable perseverance, and a good supportive team. One thing about BTS that is important to mention is that every song they ever performed, is better live than in the studio, and that says a lot about them as performers.

I like your honest reaction! If you want to dive deeper into BTS then I recommend to check out an introduction video to them. "This is BTS. Introduction to BTS (part 1)" by xceleste is a good one, very informative and updated. As for music suggestions, maybe their trilogy: "Persona" MV, "Shadow" MV, "Ego" MV (solo songs by the rappers). But after that you need to watch explanation videos, because these songs are very deep.

They don't use as much Autotune on the rap in their older music. Their backup dancers are indeed amazing. Fun fact since you're a SKZ fan: Minho used to be a backup dancer for them during their wings tour and their MV Not today. Btw I would recommend. Spring day: is there any ARMY that doesn't love it? Also search up sewol ferry tragedy. This song and MV is a tribute for the victims. I Need U: The 19+ one is awesome. Also they got their first music show win with this song. Fake love: this is the song that made me fall in love with them. The song is really cool since it has barely any CGI.

BTS's rapline is unbeatable. I highly suggest checking out their solo works if you want to see more from the rapline, or their rapline songs (UGH, Outro:Tear, Cyphers 1-4, Ddaeng, etc). As mentioned all of BTS's rappers have solo mixtapes/albums. Namjoon/RM has two albums RM (2015) and MONO (2018), Yoongi/Suga/Agust D has two albums: Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020) Yoongi is also heavily sought after and has helped produce songs for many artists, and J-hope currently has 1 called Hope World (2018). These albums are pretty much only written and produced by the rapline themselves. I am always in awe of the production and lyricism the rappers bring to the table. The Vocal line also has solo songs and projects, no full albums for the vocal line yet but both Taehyung/V and Jungkook have mentioned many times they have projects ready or almost done and plan to release them soon, specifically Tae, he will likely release a solo album this year. BTS also plans to release another album this year in the 4th quarter, so very soon, anytime between OCT-DEC an album will drop. This new album is special because BTS themselves have complete involvement in it and what I mean by that is they are literally choosing the concept, art design, album design, sound, direction, photos, etc. We are all very excited about it. A lot of people keep saying it's a completely self-produced album and yes the members will be heavily involved in the writing and producing of the songs but they have always been involved in the making of their songs since the very beginning. The big difference is that BTS isn't just working on the songs but they are also actively managing the making process of the whole album itself.

DYNAMITE is not the typical BTS song as they only did the song as a challenge to themselves to sing in all English and most importantly spread Love, hope, and positivity to everyone during this pandemic. BTS produces 75% of their songs themselves as RM, SUGA, and J-HOPE actually write and produce in their own Studio. As their popularity has built many writers and producers has been knocking at the door for the chance of their work being done by the group tbh. J-HOPE has only been producing more within the past few years as his confidence has built up. JUNGKOOK has started to write and produce within his own Studio recently. The other members JIMIN, V, and JIN are now getting deeply into writing. Black Swan does have an art MV that was performed by a professional dance company. The Black Swan MV was done at the LOS ANGELOS THEATRE that is now closed down. That is JIMIN dancing across the stage and yes he does have a background in Kendo, TAEKWONDO, poplocking, hip-hop, and bboy of which he won many competitions. He took to contemporary/modern dance at the suggestion of a teacher because they saw his gift for dance, he took on the challenge and he was such a major talent with that form of dance that he was named top student and valedictorian of his performance arts school. ON: Kinetic Manifesto was filmed at the LA Dam and was choreographed by MR SON the BTS choreographer and Sienna Lalau who is 19, of "THE LAB" professional dance company in California. The background dancers were all from "THE LAB" and the major instruments and Marchers were from the UCLA MARCHING BAND. I suggest getting to know who BTS is and what they stand for before moving forward TBH as the BTSARMY is highly protective of the OT7 for very good reasons. Songs by each member, the rapline, vocal line, and the group in a whole are all amazing. BTS stands for "BANGTAN SONYEONDAN" in Korean which translates to "BULLETPROOF BOYSCOUTS" and their adopted English name is "BEYOND THE SCENE". BULLETPROOF BOYSCOUTS means to protect the youth from criticisms and stereotypes that rain down on adolescents like bullets. However this slogan applies to all of the BTSARMY no matter the age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, skin color, or language. The fandom (family) is ARMY which stands for ADORABLE REPRESENTATIVE MC for YOUTH. RAP LINE: KIM NAMJOON aka RM (Real Me) = Leader of BTS, Rapper, producer formally known as RapMon/Rap Monster, former underground rap name was "RUNCH RANDA" MIN YOONGI aka SUGA/ AGUST-D =Main Rapper, producer, composer whose underground rap name was "GLOSS". SUGA is pronounced (Shoo-Ga) which is an abbreviated form of his basketball position in high school and AGUST-D is SUGA and Town of Daegu backwards which is his hometown. JUNG HOSEOK aka J-HOPE= Dance Leader, main dancer, rapper, producer, sub-Vocalist. J-HOPE chose his name as his the initial of his surname JUNG and HOPE because he wants to be the ray of sunshine to the world and his band mates. VOCAL LINE: KIM SEOKJIN aka JIN = Visual, Vocalist and eldest member PARK JIMIN aka JIMIN (JM) = Lead vocalist and main dancer KIM TAEHYUNG aka V = vocalist and dancer. V pronounced (bwi) in Korean stands for VICTORY/VICTORIOUS. He chose his English name to be VICTOR after Victor VanGogh. JEON JUNGKOOK aka JUNGKOOK (JK) = GOLDEN MAKNAE (youngest) MAIN Vocalist, dancer, sub-producer, sub-Rapper DANCE LINE: J-HOPE, JIMIN, JUNGKOOK, V (TAEHYUNG)

ON was filmed in LA, so you’re correct about it being in California. Black Swan was also filmed in LA in the Los Angeles Theater. The reason I know is because I’ve been there for a Gwen Stefani production probably 2 years ago I think? It’s mostly used for filming, so it’s not exactly open to the public I believe. It’s really old theater filled with detail, and it just has this look of old Hollywood used to glam up and go to special show. And yes, all the locations you see are in the same theater. That mirror room is like the powder room connected to the Women’s restroom lol. The solo dancer with high kicks and everything is Jimin. His was a top student in his arts school in contemporary/modern dance. Funny you should mention Taekwondo, since Jimin does have a black belt in it lol. I love the raw rap voices of RM, Suga, and J-Hope, but I think the autotune seems more like a recent style choice...in the past year? Not all the time, but here and there. But if you hear them live in concert or on TV, the rap and vocals are as is.

BTS never refer to their dancers as "backup dancers". They are "dancers" because they are part of the main event and choreo and not backing up in the background. You need to understand Carl Jung to understand the songs on the album. Haha. Dynamite isn't written by them and is kept simple without the need for high iq to dissect the meanings. BTS written songs are something else. Check out the explanation videos by Bookish Theories. Black Swan was shot at the historical LA Theater. Should be mv of the year. It's a masterpiece. Jimin is the "incredible" dancer here. Kpop were known for repetitive cheesy dance movements & primarily hip hop inspired dancing until BTS & Jimin came along. They took dancing to a new artistic level & others are trying to catch up now. The first song released for MOTS: 7 is "Shadow" interlude, not Black Swan. Love your reaction and analysis. Please do more BTS. You will be surprised. React to: - "Not Today" mv - "Fake Love" mv - "Your Eyes Tell" live performance - "Magic Shop" live performance - "Spring Day" mv, Spring Day explanation video & live (this song is 3 years old & never left the charts, important story behind it & the choreo is amazing) - "Idol" mv & live if you want to watch the whole choreo - "Blood, Sweat & Tears" mv, a visual masterpiece After you are more familiar with BTS, it is highly recommended to watch their MMA 2019 performance (37 mins long) & also their solo songs

As a group that doesn't need autotune, they have used it in certain tracks for aesthetic or specific reasons to further emphasize the message of the song. In this case, Classical Musicians React broke it down beautifully (esp since they reacted to the Art Film version) - why the use of the autotune and the vocal layering etc. Again, all beautiful artistic choices that represent their fear of losing their passion for music (and in consequence, no longer being able to create music) and/or submitting to the pressure of just creating "hits" or "bops" because they are expected to and losing their "musical soul" so to speak.

I know you don’t know faces yet, but here’s a little breakdown and of units. Maybe it will help it stick more when you come across the info again. Rap line : RM (also leader, main lyricist, middle in age, and was an underground rapper before BTS) Suga (main producer, also former underground rapper, produces for other artists as well) Jhope (began rapping after joining, and has a much more hype and funky style, sub-vocalist, often does lower harmonies) Vocal Line: Jungkook ( youngest, considered main vocalist, and sub-rapper. Got signed after his singing audition in Superstar K. He had the solo in “On”) Jin ( oldest, official visual, didn’t sing or dance before getting signed but worked his ass off and is now incredible) Jimin (learned to sing after joining BTS, king of high notes) V (deepest voice, but also widest range, S.O.U.L) Dance line: Jhope (dance leader (meaning he helps teach, lead practice, make and check choreography), long time street dancer before BTS) Jimin (considered on par with Jhope, but stylistically different, started dancing hip hop in middle school, went to an arts high school to study contemporary dance before auditioning for Big Hit) Jungkook (all around talented dancer, often dances and sings at the center of formations) V (was made an official member of the dance line in 2018! He was always decent, but is really good now and they made him an official member after this one solo dance he did 😂😂😂) I hope at least someone actually reads this 😛 I meant to make it short, but that’s never how these things go

BTS are know for their amazing choreography. ON was filmed at Sepulveda Dam in Los Anglese County, and their was another location in California, for the actual ON MV. the Los Angeles theater that is closed, is the set for Black Swan. Jimin is the one that did the solo in this one because he specialized in Contemporary dance in BUSAN High School, and was top of his class before signing as a trainee in 2012 with Big Hit. This song talks about losing your passion for your music, dance, etc. ON Was the title track, and Black Swan was the pre-release track. They released an ART song first of this with MN Dance company, it an artistic contemporary, orchestral version. You might like it. I personally like this one better. But the other one is very artistic. By the way, we don't get mad if someone is respectful and constructive in their opinions. Thanks, Black Swan was the song that made me ARMY.

Your hate for autotune is completely unfounded. Such an explicit autotune isn't used to correct their voices because they doesn't sound good or anything like that, it's used purposefully for artistic expression and there's nothing wrong with that. Moreover autotune in these songs has a meaning because these songs from their latest album Map of the Soul: 7. This album is very important for them and was released on the 7th anniversary of their debut. Number 7 is very significant for them and there's 7 members of the group. Since it's very important and personal album that tells about their journey they use autotune and harmonization to kinda blend their voices together which is showing their symbiosis and their bond

That's great, but it's 100% personal taste. If I don't like the usage of autotune people always say "but it's for effect!" I understand that and I still don't like the utilization. See, we told you. 😉 BTS has lots of different kind of songs. As an ARMY (& InSomnia), even if "Dynamite" is not in my top 10 or even 20 of BTS songs, (they have so so so so many great tracks) it made me so happy and I was also so proud for all the wins and #1 at Billboard Hot 100. For "ON", the dance crew is "The Lab" and its choreographer Sienna Lalau (19yo at the time) created this choreo. And for "Black Swan", the MV was filmed in a theatre in California. As you heard, they participate A LOT in the song production. They are writing, composing and arraging almost all of their songs since the beginning. Mainly the rap line: RM, SUGA and J-Hope. But the others in the Vocal line are also greatly involved. They don't need autotune but they purposely add it to convey something (a message, a feeling, etc...). You should definitely check xCeleste videos to learn about the boys, their art and their contribution to make a better world. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Again, you should enjoy what you like and react to what you think is better. You can definitely start with their debut "No more dream" to see where they come from (but they already had real messages in their lyrics). Their latest album has also a lot of references to their first songs so it can be nice to start like this. Or you can start with the storyline which has this order: - I NEED U (/!\ NEED ABSOLUTELY the 19+ version /!\) - On Stage: Prologue - Run - Epilogue: Young Forever - WINGS short films (not on the official channel though. Please find versions with English subs) With this you will already have some content to check and ready to continue your journey hahaha. 🤣🤣🤣 And like Dreamcatcher, BTS are real crackheads/dorks so you should also watch some of these funny videos. Again, musical taste depends of people and you should continue to express genuinely what you feel as usual. Please keep up with this open mindset though and stay healthy (and stream "Dynamite" and "Boca"). 🙏

There's an orchestral version of black swan that is absolutely magical, and the music video is a dance video of a dance crew doing modern dance that conveys the meaning of the lyrics so beautifully. The whole song is based of the quote "A dancer experiences two deaths in their lives. The first is when they stop dancing." So bts took that and talked about their music, the fear of losing the passion and love they have for it, bc that would be their first death. It closely connects to the concept of shadows bts have been talking about, which in turn comes from their "map of the soul" concept that's based of the phsychologist Carl Jungs theories.

Black Swan was filmed at the Los Angeles theatre. Also i don't know if you noticed this but Bighit's (the label) mission statement is 'music and artists for healing'. BTS makes music for mental health through out the course of one's life. The shadow is from Carl Jungs theory of psychology the persona. Dynamite was just a gift to fans because their last album was so dark talking about their struggles. It was ARMY'S idea to work to bring dynamite to number 1 as a thank you to BTS and because the west couldn't give us excuses for not playing saying it's not in English. Most of BTS's best songs don't have MVs.

They have over 200+ different songs you can choose from depends on what genre you prefer to hear. Each songs are so different with different styles, pop, EDM, ballad, jazz, r&b, neo soul, hard core rap.... and yes, they do write and produce (not every song).

But hey, more is going to come (I didn't really LOvE dynamite, it was very upbeat and fun but I've never seen bts with that kind of feel😅 they expriment a lot with music so expect alot from them!!!)

I appreciate your honesty. Im a HUGE BTS fan but I'm not a fan of the Disco Pop that they just released. The great thing about BTS is their diversity though. I also agree with you, Black Swan is better than ON. Since we have similarities, consider trying out: 1. Baespae (Silver Spoon) 2. Joke (RM) 3. Home (really under-appreciated)

Okay, perfect. I wasn't sure you would be into Black Swan, but I'm glad you liked it. That type of beautiful artistry is something they do very well. Some of their MVs are just gorgeous. They do everything in between very hard songs (mostly their rap-heavy ones) and ballads. Everyone else has answered your questions, so I will try not to repeat anything. I think for the next 2 songs, go back to some slightly older songs that are very big iconic ones: Fake Love and Mic Drop. Before you get into any guides/introduction videos anyway, because there are a lot of good guides that will get suggested, as BTS has a long history and has done a lot so just one isn't enough. Their history is one of the biggest reasons they are so very widely loved. The 1st guide that is standard viewing is the Who is BTS: The Seven Members of BTS, by Suga & Spice. It is like 2 years old, but it is a very good start. Then you can go into the Crash Course, and the Nobodies to Legends videos. Everything they do is very meticulous in meaning. It will seem simple at the surface, but have many layers. The Map of the Soul series might be a good jump after you've done whatever guide you want. I'm partial to the heavier songs from 7, but you're not the biggest fan of rap and I am. However, much like 3 racha, the rap line in BTS (also 3 of them) has a lot of their own songs and they do a lot of writing and producing. I personally find the psychology behind the whole Map of the Soul series very interesting, maybe you will too. For those, you'd want to start with RM's Persona, and the DKDKTV explained video for it. Then the other 2 rappers have solo work in the same vein (Suga's Shadow, and J-Hope's Ego) also with their own explanation videos. Those 3 solo songs show off very different styles too. I will admit that they do use auto-tune some on rap and vocals, especially in their more recent work. You know how I feel about it as well, but it does work very well with some songs.

Great review. Hope you do more. 🤗 The great dancing was done by our contemporary dancer, Park Jimin🤗🤩💥💜 The theater for Black Swan was one that was no longer in use; in Los Angeles, California. They filmed during a week; while on one of their trips here in the US. They filmed Black Swan and both "On" mv versions, during that week. There are behind the scenes videos located on Bangtantv most have subs if you type it in. If you need explanations go to DKDKTV or Bookish Theories they are both very good and have videos for almost all of BTS'S music videos.🤗

Dynamite is totally different because it supposed to be a light hearted song that everyone can follow and dance to. Its purpose is to bring us joy and hope through this dark time. Also, it’s a song for any age; even my friend’s toddler loves it and dance to it everyday. It’s good to have a fun song like this from BTS once in awhile so we don’t have to analyze so much. They cover different genres and don’t stay with similar concept.

Re song meanings... you have to remember that BTS albums are thematic. These 2 songs are from Map of the Soul 7 which explores Jung's theories. The first release was Shadow (by Suga). It was the intro and dealt with the fear of success. The title track was Black Swan. (since it dealt with Shadows: the fear of losing one's creativity.) ON also explored the shadow part of the psyche and the need to accept the shadow. The outro for the album is Ego (by JHope)

Their rapping does tend to have a bit of noticeable auto tone when I think about it, but of course I haven’t heard every single song of theirs so I don’t know if it’s just in their newer albums since that has become sort of a trend now. The dancer that was doing the taekwondo dance was Jimin and he’s the main dancer along with J-Hope I believe. Namjoon, Yoongi and J-Hope are the rappers while Taehyung, Jimin, Jungkook (maknae) and Jin are the vocalists and dancers of course. Where you want to go next it up to you, but they have an extremely interesting and dark storyline so if you want to do that then I would watch Run (18+) to get you started on that. You can also check out more recent MV’s as well cause I don’t really feel like their last three albums have had much of anything to do with the storyline, so it wouldn’t mess you up.
