He: "Not enough kpop groups do, you know, The talk sh*** type of songs" Me: laughing at cyphers ajdjajdjajjsja and all bangtan's discography I'm telling you, once you found the real BTS, you can't escape. I recommend you to react to their cyphers and their earlier songs, also their own mixtapes and idk. Their whole discography maybe not because there are more than 100 songs but, little by little. By the way I love how real are your reactions. Nowadays people just react bcs they want fame. I really appreciate that😊

Just wanted to comment that some of the artists BTS has collaborated with (Halsey, Steve Aoki) are actually good friends with BTS. It's not just to get them into the Western industry - they actually hang out when they get a chance and have years of friendship. BTS has worked with other artists that they're not as close friends with as well, but it's not just for promotional sake - they seem to really enjoy the time together.

Dude, all of BTS's rapline talk their shit and rarely hold back. A bunch of kpoppies cried and complained when D-2 dropped because Agust D (Suga) in a couple songs just shit all over naysayers and people who criticize them for every little thing. Later Suga on a V-live essentially laughed and said if people feel offended it's their own problem because he didn't call anyone out by name rather he released songs that he called traps that haters fall into. He mentioned both Daechwita and What do you think? were both "trap" songs. By the way, What do you think? is definitely one of my fave songs on D-2, Yoongi is typically pretty honest and straight forward but holy cow did he shut people up with this one. When rapline gets going and they start dropping curses you know they mad. RM, Suga, and J-hope are all incredibly diverse though. Whether it be in their production or flows they can literally do anything. I mean Yoongi alone has helped write and produce Eight by IU Ft. Suga, We don't talk together by Heize, Eternal Sunshine by Epik High, Song Request by LeeSoRa ft Suga, Wine by Suran, Suga's Interlude by Halsey ft. Suga, plus both his mixtapes and solo songs within BTS. One song called Honsool by Agust D/Suga specifically made me realize what an amazing producer Yoongi is, I've always thought he was amazing and he is a very sought after producer but Honsool hit me like a truck. When I first listened to it I was a bit unsure but it progressively became one of my fave songs on D-2. The reason being, he is so good at being able to express what he is feeling and saying through his production, Honsool I believe in very generic terms means to drink alone, a very forlorn thing and the whole song intentionally comes in waves of disorientation with bouts of clarity where he is rapping and it feels like you are doggy paddling in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight and every wave drags you under muting out the world and disorienting you and that is exactly what the song feels and sounds like. Drinking alone, drowning in these dark thoughts that pull you under the tide, only to come up periodically for air and it just hits man. It is really insane though how talented these guys are on top of Namjoons leadership, insane lyricism, and production ability. It bothers me that more people are not aware of how incredible Namjoon/RM is with wordplay and lyric writing, he's insane. Wale an American rapper who RM collabed with a while back even mentioned that RM has the potential to be one of the best producers of his time.

Him: I'm thinking of a different DJ that is dead. Me: *looks at avicii poster on wall* well this is awkward. Mic drop was inspired by Obama's mic drop. So yeah big western influence. There is an extended version that's what the bridge hanging at the end is for. You would love the extended version. Not today is about basically the black figures are ARMY and BTS are telling themselves to step up and start protecting ARMY like ARMY has protected them all these years.

You're the first reactor I've seen who knew crow tit was a bird, lol. It is a term they typically use in their songs to refer to their generation/millennials based off a Korean saying that goes something like, "A crow tit who tries to catch up with a stork will tear its leg." Storks are the older generations and crowtits are the millennials.

I'm so glad you checked out Not Today. After your last reaction, I started thinking that you might like it, but of course didn't think about suggesting it at the time. Yay! I do think it's worth checking out the big hits like Fake Love, Idol, DNA, etc. This remix of Mic Drop was indeed meant to be more appealing to a Western audience, you're not alone there. That's why there's more English in it, too. The original was almost all Korean. The rapper you liked was J-Hope. And yeah, I'm pretty sure the abrupt Mic Drop was intended, although there are extended versions of the live performance. So, "crow-tit" has a deeper meaning. The Korean word is Baepsae. They also have a song called Baepsae (aka Silver Spoon), which is one of my favorites. No MV, just a dance practice (which is hilarious, btw). I'm sure someone else could explain it better, but for the basics, it's basically someone that's a try-hard. It goes deeper in the song Baepsae, but there ya go.

they actually have another feat. with Aoki - The Truth Untold - and it's like in antonym to Mic Drop, if we talk about the mood. it's a vocal line song and it has really sad story in the lyrics as another vocal line song (if you would wanna dive into this part of bts eventually) i would recommend House Of Cards. very soulful both doesn't have an mvs, but i think that's not the reason to skip good music right

Please react to *This is BTS | an introduction to BTS [Part 1] by xceleste* It's really good video to show you what BTS is about. Where they came from and what the "hype of BTS" is all about. I sure it'll give lots of input. Another request would be: *BTS from Nobodies to Legends* also by xceleste. Now, BTS are these huge mega artists but they are also one of the most humble, down-to-earth bunch of people I can think of. What makes them appealing to a lot of people goes beyond their music.

About Black Swan, you should check out their live performance of that song, BTS are always better live, and there is no auto-tune for the live performance. What I love about BTS is they can talk their shit and also be humble. They only talk shit and brag about things that are true. MIC Drop was written and produced by BTS, and then Steve Aoki did a remix, but he didn't change the song itself. I will link you the original with the dance break. BTS MIC Drop (original with Dance Break) Dance Practice - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4POoZ6smqeKr9E NOT TODAY - Crow-Tits or Baepsae, means Try Hard or Underdog. Originally, crow tit referred to a small, puffy bird; however, after being used in a Korean proverb, the term crow tit came to refer to someone who is trying too hard to fit in by becoming something they aren't. I love Not Today, it's an anthem for the underdog. The guy you recognized from FIRE is J-Hope. Rap Line is RM, SUGA, J-Hope.
@jhopeur7219
@jhopeur7219 3 жыл бұрын
The first guy who rapped is J-Hope and he has a really unique and versatile tone (he's a vocalist too so he often does melodic rap) but the raspy thing you heard here is probably his signature. And it is very him. He's from Gwangju and (I'm not Korean) but I've heard it's very specific to his accent. Not a lot of rappers from Gwangju. But the more you see of him, the more you'll see how varied his tone can be. Idk if anyone has mentioned it but our rappers are rappers. Not like kpop rappers--not to denigrate anyone--I just mean two of them came from underground rap, the other from underground hip hop dance, they've been writing their own lyrics and crafting their own styles for over a decade each and they've all had very successful solo rap careers.

J-Hope is the one whose voice you really liked! He has a good amount of singing/rapping time in Blood Sweat & Tears, he also has a great intro mv for their Wings album called Boy Meets Evil. You definitely need to check out the BTS rapline too. Thats RM, Suga & J-Hope. There are no mv for the Cyphers but many live stages are up. Honestly its even better live. I recommend Cypher 3 & 4 or Cypher medley. I'll link in the replies. Also did you react to BTS's version of Fire? I can't find it!

Ok so this is very old but a really great live! RM & Suga were underground rappers with a sizeable following before joining BH, J-Hope was a Street Dancer with a professional dance bg, before joining BH. He learned to rap after becoming a trainee. All of the rapline write their own rap parts. I love this because they're all very different in style but work well together. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3aQZZqgqbCdr7s

The crow tit reference comes from a korean idiom that says if the crow tit(short legs) tries to catch up with the stork(long legs) it'll just break it's legs. So it's a way of saying that the underdogs should just stay in their place basically. But bts uses this as a reference to themselves bc they we're once underdogs and they were told that they'd never make it, but now they're one of the biggest artists in the world. So they're encouraging other underdogs to keep fighting. They even have a whole song called baepsae (korean word for crow tit) i'd love for you to check it out! There's an explanation video made by dkdtv and it's really good at explaining all the korean references that are found in the lyrics.

I hope you don't get too much hate from overprotective armys and continue your journey. Focus on rapline songs more to get into them and you can get into vocals later. That's how I did it and I'm a hardcore army OT7 now, lol. These two songs were the first ones I've liked by them too (and Dope) and I actually had the totally same reaction to RM in Mic drop like how he is so aggressive on beat but looks weird almost like it's not him singing on the MV. Well later I have found out that he (and the rest honestly) hates lip-synking and IS kinda bad at it. Which if anything - props to him doing it live all the time except for the MVs. I really recommend not stopping, at the start the fandom might be problematic but that's just what it is.

Most people think their popularity seems massive and sudden like just a hype but they didn’t realize BTS have 7 year history to their name and they have worked and fought hard for it since they were underdog back then coming from a small company in South Korea comparing to most kpop groups having big companies (JYP, SM, YG) who would have money and senior idol groups to promote for them. You should consider watching BTS' live performances. They're very emotional rappers, singers and dancers which makes sense since every one of their 200+ songs is an expression of their inner dreams, fears and affection. "Not today" is a great song, though I personally prefer "Mic Drop" over "Not Today" because it's more hip-hop and less "kpop". (I'm not a kpop/multi fan). BTS perform both songs amazingly well live though.

STEVE AOKI IS JAPANESE NOT A WESTERN ARTIST! If you prefer him not to be on it then listen to the original which is actually really good and was produced by RM, SUGA, and J-HOPE. BTS IS NOT ABOUT COLLABS. Aoki only did a slight DJ mix to the track that's it. They prefer very little collaboration interaction and as others have mentioned please watch the introduction videos by xCeleste to get to know the members. YES there were bodies falling from the sky representing haters catching on fire from their success and the song was inspired by OBAMA dropping the mic at the end of his STATE OF THE UNION speech. The one whom started off the song was J-HOPE in the bucket hat then it went to SUGA, JK, JIMIN, then RM, V and JIN. This song is ALL TRUE FACTS... The second scene was the danceline: J-HOPE (rapper), JIMIN, JK, and V Third scene was: SUGA (Rapper), JIMIN and JUNGKOOK Members According to final scene: RM= LEADER in red jacket, white shirt, black pants, dirty blonde hair JIN=black hair with headband, BLACK sweater, red pants, black boots SUGA= platinum mint blonde, ALL white with red boots J-HOPE- burgundy hair, ALL RED outfit JIMIN= black jacket, White shirt and pants V (TAEHYUNG)= Ash hair, red/white/blue camo jacket, white shirt, black pants, camo headband, black boots JUNGKOOK= black hair, ALL BLACK with white stripes, black bucket hat, red boots

For a guide go t xceleste and you can choose from a variety of videos of your liking. She has the best and the most trustworthy history of the guys that I am aware of. She does regular news about them. She uses this opportunity to make the brief documentaries about the guys to help all if us. Since you like the harder things I think that you should check out the rap line's Daenge, Cypher series 1-4 and the medly, Ugh. Then you may also want to check out Suga's alter ego, AgustD. As AgustD he has released 2 mixed tapes. The first is self titled AgustD; and the second is D2; which was just released a few months ago. It is hard to go wrong with any of his songs on D2 they are all great; but Daechwita is his newest and broke records. It is the traditional percussion music played for the king/or military on return from victorious battle, or when the king is leaving the palace. He comes hard and the flow switches are spectacular. It is like watching a movie and you don't realize that time flies. Make sure to watch all the way to the end. And Jin from Bts is carrying the fishing pole at approx 1:04 and gets nocked into by AgustD then the pole hits someone 😆 that person is Jk; the maknae from BTS🤣Thought I would help you out since you are not familiar with faces yet. There is a behind the scenes video with subtitles on KZbin that you can pull up throu Bangtantv. Enjoy 😉💜 From the first disk Give it to me, The Last, AgustD (the title trac)

As always, I love your reactions and hope you react to new groups *cough* Mamamoo’s “Hip” or other songs *cough cough* please

Ooh the song that is Not Today. Always leaves a little sour taste in my mouth, great song but my goodness did Jin get barely any lines & screentime, we hate to see it. Aaaaanyways.... definitely check out Blood Sweat & Tears and Fake Love next, in MY personal opinion, two of their best title tracks

I'm pretty sure "hey crow tits, hands up" is a slang but it simply dose not translate well. Btw I really appreciate how you say what you actually think.

Also crow tit is basically a way of saying "young people".
@zgarth1570

Well not really... There is no such definition for "baepsae", "crow tit" in Korean, but there is a saying that "the crow tit will break it's legs trying to walk like a stork". Normally it means that someone should know its place and not try to imitate someone in a higher/better position. BTS uses this amazingly well in their songs to describe try-hard people. In their song "Baepsae" the crow tits are indeed a metaphore for the young generations who can't reach the higher levels in society but still try to improve. And BTS include themselves in the try-hard category (they were from a smaller and struggling company and were often insulted by haters). So no hate, but just wanted to clarify your comment to give all the credit to how BTS use words and idioms to change people point of views. 💜

@@nikolaiquack8548 Hey you're very welcome! 💜 Thanks to BTS who write great lyrics to highlight mental or society illnesses and to spread Korean culture/language (like in "N.O.", "Baepsae", "Spring Day", "Ddaeng", "Idol", etc..., etc..., etc...), ARMY all around the world can learn together and share more knowledge and love. 🙏
