It is a fun song but with a very deep meaning. Anpanman is inspired by a Japanese animated character, a hero whose head is made of bread, but with a big heart and always helping those most in need by giving them pieces of his head to eat. Jimin: "Anpanman is the weakest hero in the world. He gives away a part of his head to eat. He may not have superpowers, but he is always there for you. We compare ourselves to him because we may not have powers, but we would like to give hope and energy through music".

Don't ever worry about being honest guys. ARMY knows that not every single BTS song will be loved by everyone. Even ARMY has their favorites and some they don't like as much. The only time we get upset is when the boys are disrespected or talked down to. And you guys have never done that. We love hearing different opinions about their songs. Ordinary people can be a hero to someone, somewhere. Superpowers are not a prerequisite for being a good human. That's what I took from the song. Their music and takeaways are chefs kiss! Thank you for the reaction 💜

Anpanman doesn’t mean superhero in itself, but he is a Japanese superhero character, whose head is made of anpan (red bean bread) which I believe he uses to feed people.

Anpanman translate as being an ordinary person become an extra ordinary by just being kind and humane to others. You dont need to have a superpowers to be a hero. Just you being a good person to others is enought to be called a hero

I love the meaning of this song. Anyone can be a superhero. Sometimes It only takes a small sacrifice to be one. This is a relaxed way of performing it. They and the audience are just having fun. I love it.

I know you might know this already, but most of BTS fun songs have deeper meaning behind. They used to masked their socially serious lyrics with fun choreo such as Am I Wrong, Baepsae & Spine Breaker.

BTS relates to Anpanman bc as they say in the song, because how they help people is by giving a piece of themselves to others. Every song, every performance, the loneliness and the bruises they get along the way to offer that to the public are the pieces of themselves they give up. ALSO, just as Anpanman can't carry anyone to safety but instead gives people strength to save themselves, BTS doesn't directly rescue anyone from their problems in life. The best they can do is to give you that piece of themselves and hope that you gain the strength to rise above your situation. How can such a fun song be so damn deep?

So true about our B T S songs/lyrics (if you guys check on it) most of BTS is full of good messages for the listener/Army's. I became a big fan of them because of their music/lyric that lifts up my heart - especially to the "Young's" like 'Pied piper' - this song is for their army's, it is a fun song (pls react/watch it) live performance on 5th muster "Pied Piper and Dimple" -> cute & sexy dance choreo - you will like it!

As many others have commented - Anpanman is not a superhero, he's a character that's red bean bread wearing a cape (One Punch Man's design is based off Anpanman) - BTS is just saying they can't be our superhero, but they can be our Anpanman and we can all be Anpanman for others - even giving someone food can be being a hero to someone. Giving your own energy for others to receive energy is being a hero.

This song and performance are so silly, I remember putting it off for a couple years because the title just looked goofy. But I think it's meant to be a fun little song to play around to. It wouldn't be BTS without the occasional catchy concept track. It's an ode to a childhood superhero. They have a great time performing it as if they were going back to childhood - it's an audio playground. And it's okay if you don't vibe with a song! Thank you for being honest. Anpanman gives a piece of himself to those who need help and after the giving he becomes weaker (I mean, eve more weaker that he originally is) but still anpanman doesn't give up helping ppl. BTS saids that they want to help ppl who listen their song even if it reduces just slightest weight.
