THE LYRICS SOUND WEIRD BC IT'S SO HARD TO TRANSLATE THE WORDPLAY IN KOREAN, IT'S INSANE ●The part where they say "this is homework" is referenced towards certain companies & ppl in the entertainment industry that were analyzing BTS recently & trying to figure out how they became so successful bc for SOME REASON they can't believe it was their hardwork that brought them here & above the biggest 3 ent companies (SM, YG, JYP). Like deadass this news channel in Korea broadcasted a whole break down & analyzation on how BTS became successful so big companies could take notes LMAOOO ●The part where they talk about praying for the "small companies success" they're talking about the big3 (SM, YG, JYP) & the lines are supposed to be almost ironic. BTS started off in a small company (Bighit) but their company has now surpassed all 3 of those companies (which I remind you the big3 have actors, singers, dancers, & a bunch of other groups yet Bighit with only BTS alone have surpassed them). So now the tables have turned and they're saying "I pray for the small companies success" ●The part where RM is stuttering while rapping; he's basically making fun of ppl who @first insulted them when they were small but suddenly now that they're big, these asses wanna apologize & be all nice to them. They calling out all the fakes in the ent industry & he's making fun of how they apologize stuttering & shit ●The Korean # card game thing I'm guessing is them saying "bingo!". They're basically saying "yup we won everything". Their career is an example of "winning the lottery" ●"Rappers who don't have haters shut up" RM is basically calling out people in the underground rap scene (which he & Suga used to be apart of before becoming idols, after which they got heavily criticized for leaving by those jealous underground rappers) who rap about how they have haters & shit but no one is even paying attention to them, let alone hating ●There is also a part where they call their haters "jobless" ●The part where RM calls them frogs & tells them he hopes they die in their wells. There's an old saying about a frog who lived in a well & thought everything there was perfect & at its best, until another creature found him & the frog realized his entire life was basically a lie as there was a whole other world outside the well that he could never get to/never knew about. RM's saying that certain ppl aren't thinking outside the box; they refuse to move outside of their tiny mediocre comfort zone aka their well. He's saying they'll die in that well of boring music & bland comfort zone (he's saying this to K-idols & companies). IN CONCLUSION: This entire song is basically them saying "do whatever you want. We stay unbothered and rich" & them being annoyed by all the bs that ppl keep spewing.

Ddaeng has seven meanings and were all used in this diss track. This is not your usual diss track. From your reaction i'm sure you didnt get half of the lyrics.lol ddaeng: wrong/incorrect answer ddaeng: sound of a bell ddaeng: sudden fortune/good omen ddaeng: sound/action of freeing a frozen person in a freeze tag ddaeng: A tag game (there are more meanings) They used all these meanings silmultaneaously in the track. Genius! -'frog in the well i hope you die in the well' means close minded people who decide to remain in their little niche. He hopes the stay there forever -RM stuttering is him imitating mediocre rappers. There is SO MUCH going on in this track. You need more than one listen and multiple translations to grasp it. J.Pearl is actually the Maknae from History, they've disbanded but had some amazing songs and now Yijeong (j.pearl) has produced some serious bops and Nano (Jaeho) is from the same group and now putting out solo stuff. He recently put out two MVs Forever You and I & Punishment (seriously punishment is the shit) and has another on the way. There are SOOOOOOOO many uses for the word Ddaeng and so many hidden Korean disses and references that we wouldn't get if David hadn't explained it. This is a big FU to the industry, they were being sarcastic and basically telling them "you right we won't make it and will fail, just look at these achievements now" .Τhey're thanking big companies and the media for belittling and ignoring them, since it's what pushed them to work hard and be successful. When you watch a korean TV shows they often do quiz games and if the players answer the questions wrong they give the signal "Ddaeng!" but since D and T have the same characters in Korean alphabets sometimes you will hear them pronouncing Ds and Ts same. So basically when the lyrics say ddaeng it means wrong. A lot of people searching what ddaeng means but couldn't find it. So here it is.

Ddaeng has at least 3 meanings from what I understand. it is the sound of a bell/buzzer on a game show for a wrong answer so it has the meaning of 'you lose' or 'you're wrong'. Ding-dong is the sound of the winning bell so that's why RM says both (to compare between them and others). ddaeng is what Koreans say in freeze-tag to freeze or unfreeze somebody and they do refer to this. ddaeng also has something to do with a winning combination and is to do with the numbers they keep repeating as they are a winning hand, the dominating numbers, in a Korean card game. Winning hand of 3 number combination, winning hand of 3 rappers combination. Also, the frog/well thing comes from a fable where a frog that lived in a well thought the well was the whole world and that he knew everything, the point being BTS isn't living in the small well anymore.
