Hey Cyrus, I have to comment this about Samira’s post because I didn’t really see anyone correct the true narrative. BTS’s true story is good enough that I don’t think people should mis-represent them to make it sound more sad. Those comments you read off from Samira are inaccurate. The American Hustle Life was a reality show Big Hit and BTS agreed to participate in for the sake of the show. One episode was to give the guys work experience apart from music and what they do. This is the reason RM and SUGA were tasked to clean some hotel rooms, and it wasn’t their hotel room. They also weren’t that poor. They rented an apartment for a day to shoot a music video. The apartment cost over $1000/hour. And they had it for the full day. The “started from garage” is also very misleading and I know xCeleste paints a similar picture in one of her videos. They CHOSE to use a garage to do some work. They did not start out working out of a garage. This garage is in the US. (Big Hit was already an established company with other existing idols when BTS was put together). Majority of the episodes shows them working in various studios with different American artist and producers. Also around this same time BTS went to Russia and Japan for concerts and tours and they stayed in relatively nice hotels. Not trying to be mean, but I’ve seen this kind of post from many different people in different reaction channels and I think it’s important to correct these false stories.

But still wasn't bighit almost on the verge of bankruptcy I don't know much Abt BU but mostly it's seems sad but going toward better and better but then again something happens so we aren't clear Also I though there was also a theory Abt yoongi dies and Jungkook meets him as he gave up his life for him there's alot of theories and blood sweet and tears has a completely different story from that novel if u guys know ,also spring day has different story line and I don't get the things with the girls I mean each of them were with a different girl and end up loosing them ughhh let it be I don't want to start this mess up bu theories But American Hussle life isn't that bad I agree to u at some point I mean they learned alot ,they enjoyed there but I think what was difficult for them was to make the album since yoongi said he didn't want to repeat the process of dark &wild era it was hard for them And I would say things were pretty hard until 2015 bcz after their first win things got much easier than before,2016 was much better bcz of wings they won their first daesang but 2017 and boom no stopping to BTS but even all these years they had to face more things well we all know but BU has a sadder part to it cuz according to my evaluation for seokjin I don't see an end I mean how will things turn out for him in the end !? Sheesh BU gives me a headache

You are right!Just to clarify a bit more. All seven of them did sleep in one room so their living arrangements wasn’t nice in Korea that part is true.Also Big Hit was almost bankrupt at that moment 2013-2015 and I’m not sure it was well established like yes did exist since 2006 apparently but I don’t think they had any success whatsoever

i understand and agree with a lot of your comment but dont paint it like bts were rich either. american hustle life was not paid for by bighit it was a mnet show so they were not paying 1000/ hour to shoot that music video. and bighit almost went bankrupt many times before 2016. 2016 is when they were established and comfortable. prior everything was still very unstable. bang pd did have some money as hes a producer before he was a ceo and the few groups kept the company a float but when bts debut the company was very close to going bankrupt. bts has said multiple times during N.O. era and again during young forever era that they thought they were gonna disband. this wasnt out of choice this was due to financial instability in bighit. so yes while american hustle life does get taken out of context and they were not poor to the point of living on the street they still did not have enough stability until after blood sweat and tears. especially when you compare their situation to big 3 groups which was the norm. if you did not have the same amount of money as big 3 labels/groups then you were not successful and wont get good treatment by anyone in the industry which we know they didnt get. please do not make it seem like they were well off or comfortable cause if any album didnt succeed or armys didnt support then bts and bighit wouldve sunk. chapter 6 of rise of bangtan explains the true situation. two things can be correct at once they werent using garage as only options but they still were living in risky conditions where any wrong move and they were done. this pushed bts and bighit to work harder to stand out and armys grew from that by spreading bts by word of mouth not by media or industry connections or money.

I think you missed a little bit in the beginning where she explained that the storyline has a lot of different sources. It goes across the music videos, the notes, a webtoon, a mobile game, concert VCRs and short films. Army had to try and put together the puzzle pieces to figure out the story. It's also not chronological in the music videos, so you have to piece those together as well. Then you have some of the VCRs they play at concerts with footage, the Onstage Prologue and the Wings short films. It's... a lot. Xceleste is an angel for taking the time to put it all together in an understandable order for us. Also, if I remember correctly with this swiss cheese brain of mine, the BU is the brain child of Bang PD. Thank you, can't wait for the next part :)

Just so you know this is being made into a Korean drama already. The actors playing each of the boy's roles have already been selected. It is currently in the making because there have been behind the scene pictures on some of the actor's Instagrams. I'm assuming it will air in 2023 or 2024 as the BTS members have started to focus on solos and go to the military and are expected to reunite for group activities by the end of 2025. So 2023/24 is the perfect time to put it out for the fans to enjoy.

I just wanna point out that through the BU we can see that it gets along with their discography concepts. School trilogy of criticizing the school/education system (them being students with expectations on their shoulders especially jin *according to the BU* ) Then to youth where they were trying to find themselves by having fun and forgetting about their problems and namjoon and hoseok whom has lost their childhood and youth trying to carry a responsibility that are bigger than them. To the most beautiful moments in life when they are together Wings where they were apart tempted by life and losing each other To love yourself and speak yourself which is the solution (they needed to speak to each other in order to get helped because they share the same destiny they are better when together but they suffer when apart.

I find the BU interesting as a concept, but I haven't necessarily followed it or been one of the ones trying to figure out what is going on. Partly this is because I only became ARMY about 2 years ago, but the other part is I've just never been interested in doing such a deep dive. I've watched this summary on my own time before and found it very interesting, but I never would have gone through everything chronologically or had the time or patience to read all the notes and play the mobile game, etc, that is needed to get all the pieces of the story. Not every ARMY follows the BU, so it's up to you if you want to go into this or not! I also think that other people saying you "wasted an opportunity" by watching this summary "too early" should realize that's only their opinion and they don't really have a right to control how other people experience their journey through BTS's content.

It is better to understand BTS's storyline as symbolism rather than text itself. The thoughts and situations they had when they made the album affect their virtual world. It is the BU that figuratively created the situation they are in.

This is why we tell you to react to BTS artistry and things like the rise of Bangtan first before reacting to some questionable recommendations. It would be much more interesting to see you react to all of this music videos first in order like the person suggested with you trying to understand the storyline and at the end watch this explanation to see if you were right. So you wasted the opportunity to make this journey by watching the explanation before watching any of the music videos from the BU(Bangtan Universe) Wich is sad.

well you are right ! there are two types of people in the world of movies ;D the ones that loves spoilers and the ones that prefer to watch the whole story :D I like spoilers because it helps me to understand better. actually I could watch them first but I knew I might get lost in the story, now with this explanation everything became much better. due to my internet speed I cannot upload videos as fast as I watch BTS . already i made 3 more chapter of BU and now i get them alot better only cause of this video.

@@Cyrusyami I'm just telling that you lost the opportunity because THIS are the videos that would be interesting to see you analyze. :) It's a different type on analyses but still analyses and probably you would be able to analyze the storyline of music videos way better then other reactors who don't have your background. And it's way better analyze BTS when they are fictional characters instead of their real and sometimes vulnerable videos and moments and any phrase they say as if they are zoo animals.

@@MishLee I also think this is the best way, for me it was easier to understand the storyline and afterwards see the videos. @blueberrycream I actually don't think this is more useful to analise than the real people they are, it is like analising characters from a movie. It is just acting so I don't know how analising fictional stuff would help him know them better, wich was the initial purpose at least. I guess we're all different and have different oppinions, wich shows that Cyrus could never do content that everyone agrees with, and it is natural for this to happen🙂. So we can just respect his choices and enjoy the content he feels like making. We all had our own timeline discovering BTS, just because he choose to show us his timeline does not take away his right to do things in the way and in the order he feels like doing it.

I personally have never bothered to follow the BU outside of watching XCeleste's summary in the past and I don't feel the need to do so. Following the music and the real life story of BTS is enough for me, and I think there are plenty of people who feel the same. That's not to say the BU isn't amazing, because I know it is, but it's just not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Cyrus seems to be most interested in analyzing who BTS are as people in real life (at least so far) so it's possible he may not be as interested in the BU as you are. All in all, I guess I just think you could have said what you said in a much more humble way. There's no right or wrong way to go through the BTS journey, and your post felt kind of aggressive to me.

Like Cyrus I'm more in the visual side, so reading books at first would never work for me, and if I watch all the MV's first without understanding many things, I would probably get frustrated and then watch an explanation video. There is so much to digest in the BU that it would probably take more than a month for me to be able to pick 50% of the story(people that experienced this at real time spent much more time tho). So it is better for Cyrus to watch this first and then understand everything through videos and notes, it worked for me too. I first got interested in the story because of an explanation video, then I watched the MV's and highlight reels and all the other stuff, and finally I red all the books and notes. Now I keep returning to the videos and picking more things and searching for new things I missed. So this worked for me.

Actually the story has two concepts. the one you just saw and the psychological background based on the book by Damian Hesel which in turn is inspired by another book, map of the soul by Carl Jung. All of them are masterpieces cause they talk about the psique of the members in the storyline and also in real life all through lyrics and videos. *Ego by J-hope (solo song) *Persona by RM (solo song) * Shadow by Suga (solo song) *Blood sweat and tears (all members) These are a few of Carl Jung's inspired songs. Many things about bts are this huge, deep and detailed, you will never run out of content. Their discography is not a joke!! You'll see hehe

@@Cyrusyami BTS in parallel to the Bangtan Universe has been developing a second concept that is related to Psychology. There are several literary works related to this such as the book -Demian by Hermman Hesse- and -Map of the Soul by Murray Stein-, these books in turn are based on the Archetypes of Carl Jung who was a psychiatrist, psychologist founder of the school of analytical psychology. It is also a fairly extensive and complex topic but quite interesting. So with BU and the psychology in BTS's work there is enough information to burn our brain cells.

Well I thought here he goes, trying to run before he can walk. BUT i did the same when baby ARMY, I read a very detailed BU website before i watched any of the BU content except I need you and run. I’m the kind that always reads the end of the book after just a few chapters, so I can understand. 💜 Now I ve picked up the BU seriously, and it is more interesting to do on your own, they created a whole story with a lot of layers and symbolism. On the other hand not knowing about the BU is not a hindrance, i feel many ARMY are very involved in BU to the point of telling people not to watch this or that. Each piece of the puzzle can be appreciated alone too.

Since the videos only won't help as there is a game and webtoon(not completed either) and notes to give the story and shape. It actually makes the experience better and help with theories.

There were a lot of MVs mentioned in some of your previous contents but I don't know why you never reacted to any of them. Besides they're really short and easy to upload. Naah too early for this... You skipped the steps which makes things uninteresting, it's like starting a book at the end... it would have been better to start the Bangtan Universe in its order of appearance and see where your reasoning would take you, and then compare the readings. But here you ruined everything, it was even annoying to watch you totally confused and not understanding anything... Thanks for trying tho.

I did it the same way and it was better for me to know the big picture when I watched the MVs. I understood perfectly and I pretty sure he also did, it is just overwhelming because there are many details. Not everyone has the patience to read the notes, see the webtoon, the game, the VCRs during concerts and so on, the MVs alone are not enough. As they say to each their own, we are all different and that is great, it would get boring if we would all think and feel the same way 🙂
