This hit me hard when she said the purple portrays loved but the mask with a tear means faking. It's a really great song with depth. Aside from the members, I love bts songs for their creativity and inspirational lyrics. I just hope they don't feel the need to create a fake personality just to please army, hopefully they can just enjoy themselves as they are.

My opinion to that: I think that we all already know that the people we see aren't always the same as shown to us (not only BTS but anyone) My story: I'm a fake person myself I can say that.. It hurts so bad to say that but it's true.. In order to get treated 'equally but still better' I act like someone else which is definitely not me and istg I don't even know now what my true personality is 🥺

I loooove your explanations and i really love to know your opinion about the relation between this song and the book “Confessions of a Mask by Yukio Mishima”( talking about a boy who’s homosexual and weak and is raised away from other boys, isolated and lonely ... ). I don’t know if you’ve read this book or not, but even the cover of the book is portrayed a man with his mask on while holding a flower near his lips exactly like what we see here in this mv. Obviously RM couldn’t talk about receiving an inspiration from this book because of well numerous reasons, but i think the scenes in this mv are enough telling. The lyrics talks about “ have i lost myself or have I gained you” and shutting down the inner voices because of someone else or not having a voice, is really bringing some theories about this book to my mind. I’ll be very happy to know your opinion on this one.

Your explanation is mind blowing. A lot of knowledge about a human mindset an heart. Well i never understood the definition of love, the love like you say when we put in mask, we change ourselves completely or lose ourselve in it. I dont know how in humanity such thing exists where you try to completely change yourself just so the person whom you love can accept you, to be vey honest thats something rubbish i have ever heard in my life. Though for me BTS expressing this makes sense because the way they explain it, they didnt tell to lose ourself but to gain ourselves to love ourselves thats what makes each lyrics meaningful.
