In their recent album (Map Of The Soul:7), There’s a song called “We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal”. The concept/feel is literally the opposite of this song. That's his Korean age. By American ages he was 14. They were all babies because only Jin from the hyung line was an 'adult' (20 years old in Korean ages) when they debuted and his birthday was months after that. BTS felt like they had a lot to prove, coming from a small company, backlash from the underground hiphop community (again not one of them of legal drinking age in their own country) and everyone telling them that they were going to fail. The bangtan/bulletproof was just as much for them as it was for us. As long as they believed in themselves they wouldn't 'die' (be forgotten/fail). OT but this had me feeling all sorts of emotions. 🙂

This song is so awesome man. The live performance is even better. They dared to perform this song on Korea's biggest award show MAMA last year. Not every group has the balls to perform their debut song in front of the whole country after six years. The performance might go wrong or you can be embarrassed of your debut song. But BTS nailed it and said "Yeah, we were great from the debut, you guys just noticed it only a few years later".

Fun story. The maknae Jungkook auditioned for a tv program in 2011, but wasn't picked, I guess they thought he was too shy and lacked confidence. But after that 7 different companies made an offer to Jungkook to audition for them. 6 out of 7 companies were small companies and Bighit was one of them. Jungkook did some research and saw a video of RM performing his rap and thought RM was awesome and wanted to go to the same company as him. Now there was one big company among the bunch. And that was, yes you guessed it, JYP entertainment. If it wasn't for RM, Jungkook could have been in the same company as Twice, Itzy and Got7. He could have been a member of Got7 today actually.

The wonderful thing is BTS has no genre. The saying is that BTS IS the genre. Every video is different and there are like five different beat changes within each song. It’s that push and pull and switch up that makes their music so addicting. But start paying attention to EVERYTHING in the videos, trailers, and short films cuz there is a storyline that literally flows through absolutely everything they put out. Like in the first video there were things that you will recognize in stuff they put out today. But there is a very specific order once you get past danger and war of hormone (I’m sure ARMY will give you a proper list with links once you get there.) That’s why everyone says it’s like falling down the rabbit hole. No one tells stories like them.
