That's Gyeongbokgung palace. Korean architecture and a national landmark. It used to be the main royal palace (Joseon dynasty) where Kings reside. Sam, you’re gonna get into trouble if you go to Korea and use Japanese words... Dojo (Japanese word) is simply a hall where people practise martial arts. It may be in any ordinary building. When you see architecture like this, it’s usually a temple or a pavilion in a palace complex.

@@lyna2559 Evickar1 is just saying that most people who don't already know the history aren't good at telling Korean/Japanese/Chinese culture (especially the design of the buildings) apart, because to people who aren't familiar with it they look similar. It's the same reason why people who are new to K-Pop usually think Hanboks are Kimonos. If you know, then you know, but if you don't then it's easy to confuse them. Western education doesn't teach us very much about Asian cultures. So while we should educate people who don't know so they can better understand the differences, we also should cut them a little slack because it's an easy mistake to make.

Although many are already mentioning this, Sammy you should be careful when mentioning cultural things. I love your reaction videos for many reasons but if you're going to deal with K-pop, you'll have to learn at least a bit about Korean culture and history. I know that you mean no harm, but referring something Japanese at Korean culture can be very, very offensive and Koreans have good reason to be offended. Especially for Gyeongbok palace, which has been the most important palace of Joseon dynasty for 600 years. Japanese were very cruel as colonizers and they constructed colonizing head office right in front of Gyeongbok palace, in order to "cut the sprit" of Korean people. The office building has been demolished eventually, but it wasn't until 1990s because of the complicated diplomatic situations. Thus Gyeongbok palace means a lot to Koreans, partly as a symbol of "spirit of Korea", which, probably, might be why BTS chose it as a venue.

I was very excited to see your reaction to this LEJINDARY performance at the Gyeongbok palace, but the fire died right after you mentioned 'dojo' (it means gym and it is Japanese culture). Sam, I hope you could take a look into those comments about cultural and historical contexts of the Korea. Because I really really enjoy your reaction!

This was filmed in Gyeongbokgong palace in Seoul, and Daechwita was filmed in Dae jang guem park. Also dojo is Japanese not korean :)

sam i know you make a lot of random comments during the video as a genuine reaction and it is okay not to know at first, but maybe while editing, you should ask yourself “hm, should i keep this in the video? will it offend someone ?” and do some research on what you are saying before posting it. you always do a bit of a race with yourself to upload as quickly as possible and i know it’s to garner more views, but pls think about what others might think instead of being ignorant. this isn’t the first time you make a very wrong assumption about another culture, and so it’s weird that you continue acting like this when the comment section has tried educating you on multiple occasions. your comments at times make people uncomfortable. this isn’t me acting as a hater, but me trying to help you out so you could post better content in the future. pls acknowledge your wrong doings and be more careful next time.

I agree, it's a constructive criticism. We, Army as much as possible we all understand every reactors at first doesn't have a knowledge of BTS or Korean Culture, we try as much as we could to feed them information to understand in every MV of BTS.

As others mentioned, this was filmed at Gyeongbokgung Palace. Agust D’s Daechwita music video was filmed in a famous and well-preserved historically-themed location called the Dae Jang Geum Park. It was built to showcase how South Korea used to live in the past.

I'm so excited to see BTS perform "Idol" at Gyeongbokgung Palace! It's a vast site with multiple buildings, courtyards, gardens - so beautiful! And so meaningful with Chuseok (Korea's national holiday). Would love to go back to Seoul (cross fingers, very soon!).

I know you probably don’t know but I’d avoid trying to name something if you don’t know it...a dojo is a name for a Japanese building that’s used to study martial arts and a lot of Koreans would get very offended due to the violent and harsh colonisation Japan had over Korea. This is the Gyeonbokgung Palace and is very historical and important. Just some advice. Other than that, great reaction as always 😊

A hanbok (in South Korean) is a traditional Korean dress for semi-formal or formal attire during traditional occasions such as festivals, celebrations, and ceremonies. It is characterized by vibrant colors and simple lines without pockets. Although the term literally means "Korean clothing", today Hanbok usually refers specifically to clothing worn during the Joseon dynasty period.

@M U idk why you are commenting on every single comment that's just giving Sammy a suggestion so he can avoid offending Korea people such as using Japanese terms and stuff like that. Also if you think this song is crappy then I honestly don't know why you are even here commenting on a video that reacting to this "crappy" song. Second it's so offensive to say any country's history is "crappy" and I don't know why you are saying all of this and shit but I think it's important to know a country's culture before you do hundreds of reviews and reactions to them.
