Their Japanese releases are quite unique and special. Crystal Snow, Your eyes tell and Film out my absolute favorites of them all and knowing that JK composed two of them make me really proud of the boys talent. Composition of your eyes tell is different and I heard people say that its what makes it difficult to sing. There is no beat in it, just a flowing deep melancholic melody and thats also probably why I like it so much. It is dreamy, unique and utterly beautiful. Jin and Jimin have both a particular affinity of their voices for Japanese releases, many people admitted those two sound best in Japanese, lol. I also like their styling during this performance. Very crisp, sharp, polished, simple, elegant and classy. Me like indeed:-) And Kookies hair is a perfection. I do not know why but when he has one eye almost covered by his fringe like this I can´t breathe properly lol. (Its funny how wack your spinning wheel is, ladies, it´s not Jimin bias, its very obviously not calibrated right :-) )

I hope I understood Erin's question at the end of the video. I think she asked if Koreans also speak Japanese and understand BTS's Japanese songs. While some schools and extra-curricular language academies offer Japanese courses, most Koreans don't speak Japanese. There is still a rather painful relationship between Korea and Japan politically stemming from colonialism. Most of my Korean friends listen to the Korean versions of their songs, but for those Japanese songs that have no Korean version, they usually have to look up translations like the rest of us international fans!

Most of them have similar Japanese proficiency, but there is no big difference. All the members can talk about easy conversation. Of course, Jungkook got help from translation to write the lyrics.

JD was spot on when she said South Korean bands cater to the Japan because it's a larger music market. It's not Southeast Asia, though - Japan, Korea, and China are considered East Asian countries. However, K-pop does enjoy huge popularity in Southeast Asia, so BTS has started actively promoting there as well, for example, their partnership with Indonesian company tokopedia, for which they've done some interviews and performances. In terms of BTS learning Japanese, I believe they all studied as trainees for the very reasons JD was talking about. If you watch Japanese fanmeetings or interviews, they will all speak in Japanese to the audience and hosts. I'm not sure if Jin is the best at Japanese; there seem to be conflicting accounts as to which member is best at it. Based on the bit of research I've just done, seems like many ARMY who speak Japanese agree that RM is most proficient, especially in terms of vocabulary. They also said that all the boys have improved a lot in the last few years!

So weird! My entire journey to full BTS appreciation began with me coming across and watching the Turkish version of the same original Korean film. I loved it so much that I searched out the Korean original and thus discovered and started watching all sorts of other Korean films, tv and dramas. Then last July KZbin algorithms threw Run BTS clips at me and here I am.

In the album credits Jungkook is listed as the lyricist and a composer of your eyes tell so he wrote the melody as well not just the lyrics so talented 💜 I love the vocal arrangement of the song and the melody. The boys sound amazing in the live performance! I think I prefer the mp3 version. The sound of the instruments and the harmonies are more clear. This live version has unfortunately not the best audio sound.

Historically, Korea was annexed by Japan between 1910 and 1945, regaining its independence after WW2. So there are “remnants” of Japanese culture and influence in SK from those 35 years. However, more Koreans study Chinese as a foreign language, then English, then Japanese. But JD is right in that catering to the Japanese market is a big thing in the KPop industry. However, among the boys, JHope is apparently the more fluent and accurate (pronunciation wise) one in Japanese, followed by RM, then Jimin (who does well in Japanese shows and interviews). All of them are obviously comfortable singing in Japanese.

Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song. I've watched them perform this song many, many times and it makes me emotional every single time. I think it is a performance you should watch several times to truly appreciate. Once to get an overall feel for the song, once to focus on the lyrics and seven more times to focus on the individual members...lol. I really get a whole different feel from their original Japanese songs..Crystal Snow is one of my favourites and feels like a masterpiece every time I hear it. You are right...Jin shines bright in the Japanese songs. I wonder if Koreans commonly study Japanese as a second language credit in school? Perhaps one of your Korean subscribers could tell us. I am in Canada and we must take a certain number of French credits to receive our diploma (it's our 2nd official language) and I know many Americans take Spanish credits in school (they obviously border Mexico and also have many hispanic citizens). It blows my mind when they do a Japanese tour...not only do they have to remember their insane choreo & complicated lyrics, but also to do it all in a language that isn't their primary language is mind boggling. BTS never cease to amaze me.

Hi. I am back. Good reaction, ty. I love this song. It's my fav. I had chills on my 1st listen!!! I adore this live. I am sad they took down the HD version. The guys are so expressive here just wow. I feel the notes with this song! It's an OST for a Japanese drama. JK wrote this and the lyrics are powerful and perfect for the drama. I adore Jimin that's why he is my ult bias. But the vocal line killed this song. They really showed off their range. And the rap line killed their part too so beautiful. He improved a lot, so he has more now). +The fact that he's been singing out of his range (he's baritone, bts songs is written on tenor) it means he's really talented.
