The ARB has 2 small gauge wires that go through the fire wall. These wires are meant to go to a switch (provided with the ARB over here in the Netherlands) You should use these two wires to connect to your switch pod. The big positive and negative go straight to the car battery. In other words, stay safe, no need to put so many amps through your switch pod 😉

This is my thinking too: just have the ARB directly to the battery as per instructions, but have the ARB's switch wires go to the switch pod (or any other controller)..

That silver chamber mounted on the compressor is used for pre-loading the pressure, which may reach 100psi. Although the compressor runs for very short time when preloading, it may be enough to blow 30A fuse in your distribution box.

Fair, thanks a for the feedback. Very helpful.

Loved the video and the experimet! Very helpful! I was questioning the exact same idea as the numbers match (theoretically) but no body doing it made me question it.

Btw, Did you install it this way or did you use other configuration?

Chris. Good to see you brother. Great video. Keep em coming. We opted to wire our our single ARB compressor to the battery and use our sPod as the power switch only. It has been working flawlessly for six years.

I used the same switch box Bubba used for the power switch only also. Seems to work great. The Main load power comes directly from battery with its own ARB fuse provided with the Air Compressor wireing.

Right on brother. Most do it this way. I guess I was more curious why the single ARB could not be fully powered from the switch pod. You know

In this test I ran the power and the switch all off the switch pod.
@mericaeveryday3 жыл бұрын
yes you can. I have a adapter I have made for mine and others if you all need one. It plugs right into the ARB harness with no splicing.
@BubbasgarageTv3 жыл бұрын
But did you power the main ARB harness off the battery? In this test we wired the switch and the compressor all from the switch pod.

May never have a problem but I like to plan for a worst case scenario when it comes to wiring. Electrical fires never go well. But you may never see that happen if the pump isn't under a heavy load. Good luck 👍

Thanks brother. Figured if the air compressor was rated up to 32 amps at max load. I'm running a 30 amp circuit with a 30 amp fuse figured I would blow the fuse first.

Hi….do you keep the ARB relay and fuse…or you use your control box fuse and relay?
@BubbasgarageTv3 жыл бұрын
Yep sure do, this is how the sensor will cut it off when your not pushing out air.

Can the single run on the factory installed Mopar switches?
@BubbasgarageTv2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I'm not sure... Let us know if you find out. Haven't tried that one.

@@BubbasgarageTv Aux 1 and 2 are 40amp. I read and seen videos a double ARB will work on the Mopar switches Aux 1 or 2. If you are going to pump up all 4 tires at one time. That is another question, more research required.

Nice, that's a great start for sure.

So true! lol. Math says it would work, figured id blow the fuse first.
@hcharp4923 жыл бұрын
if your airing up all 4tires, then they would realize out and still only push 35 psi…

Fair enough.

Yeah worst case scenario you explode the battery and burn your jeep to a shell. Hahaha the math checks out though so it was a calculated risk. Great video boss man!
