What an episode! Know what i love most? Jonny doesn’t feel like a Tv show host or interviewer. It’s like he’s your car knowledgable best mate who’s always ready to jump in and get his hands dirty. The Isseta which was “British” made was probably made in the old Pullman Carriage Works just outside Brighton station. There was an article in the Brighton Evening Argus a few years ago. The Pullman Carriage works had no road access as they are under some cliffs in a cutting so all the parts came in by train down from Victoria Station in a goods waggon attached to the end of a passenger train. After the cars were assembled they were sent back to London in goods wagons and unloaded back at Victoria. The article had photographs of a bubble car that had been bought by someone in Brighton and rather than pick it up in London he asked to collect it from the works. Apparently they shut off the power to the line one Sunday morning and laid planks over the railway line and drove it off. That’s some service.

This brought a tear to my eye reminding me of about 2 years ago when we pulled my dads old isseta out of my grandma's front garden after she had passed away. He travelled all round the uk in it (including to fort william as one sticker in the glass proclaimed! which is quite impressive as he lived in sutton) it was moved in the back of a hire van and when we picked it up it came apart exactly like this one into shell and chassis! it was sold not longer after as it really was beyond our skills and budget along with a bucket of spares including the headlight. I hope it gets a chance to ride again one day!

Oliver Vaughan from Nygel Miller. Small world, I live nearby to where you dad lived - not Sutton, but Wallington! And my schoolmate (from Sutton), DID have a 4 - wheel Isetta. (I've never seen another 4 wheel one to this day). And THAT was blue! Also, speaking of Fort William, I missed going there, when I went to Loch Ness. But I'm going again, and will see Fort William next time. (I'm going to chicken out, though, and not travel by Isetta, but by TRAIN!. So many co-incidence in our lives, so I guess you could describe it as "Small World - ,Small Car!"

Such a lovely video - understandably, emotional and memory-jogging for Dean. And also emotional for the 'loss' of the Messerschmitt - a quirky, characterful, "of-the-moment" bubble car. But it's still amazing to think that, some 60-70 years ago, someone's skills and efforts went in to manufacturing those bubble cars and that, here in 2021, they are still giving enjoyment and wonder. A great video - thanks Jonny (& Dean)

Wonderful! When I went to kindergarten between 1971 and 1974, there was a BMW Isetta (out of duty) in the patio. Sometimes, the kindergarten teacher (or superior Sister Ausonja herself) opened the front door, so we could play in it. This was the best that I can remember: being alone in «my» car, doing something with the steering wheel and driving around in my phantasie world. We did grow up on a very busy road but without any car. We did have only some bicycles and handcarts. But we did survive... Whenever I see an Isetta, this comes into my mind. Childhood... Jonny: what I really appreciate is the silence of your filming. No stress, no yelling, no artificial extra show. Two cameras, different angles of view, good light that is not too bright and makes a warm atmosphere. I'm within the story, that's what I feel. Good work!

Wow, what a great episode. Such an exciting find, and even the owner was unaware of most the condition of the vehicles, so also for him a thrill, besides his own memories coming back. Nice jokes between the owner and the host, relaxed pace, no music to interfere. Good editing. Someone commented earlier that the host doesn't feel like a 'presenter', but more like a friend you invite over to your garage. Positive attitude, knowledgable and witty. My special gratitude and respect for the cameraman. He keeps the shots wide, so we see the whole scene where the dig unfolds. He shows us the vehicle and its parts, instead of foreverlasting close-ups of the host, like so many other channels do. His camerawork is so good, one hardly notices how good it is. It is in service to what we see, and we can enjoy the video fully. Hooray for the cameraman !!

@@marktaylor-hankins9398 - I feel honoured that you replied to me. I could not answer back straight away, so here is. Both praises, for editing and camerawork, are well deserved. I may be more sensitive to them than most people, but still; everyone is affected by both editing and camera, at least sub-consciously. And that effect matters. The host may be good or horrible, still the camera and editing stand on their own. You may not be able to make a bad host into a good one, but still the rest may be enjoyable. But when editing and camera are badly executed, even a good host can be left hanging. That's why Jonny Smith is well equipped with you as a professional. Looking forward to more episodes with you behind the lens.
