Gotta agree with Mikedawg, the English lyrics I find flow better with the theme of the song "The fire's so much hotter than yesterday, keep it burning" I love that. "I just live more passionately than yesterday" Very cool, but I like the first one better. I do however (and I'm probably very weird for noticing) like the background music of the Japanese version, especially when it cuts to the part of showing her.

@Theonetruewonderfly8 жыл бұрын
Allright, let's just admit it: everyone who's purposefully searched KZbin for this version of the song is well over 30 years old, right? Old School English Dubs, from the early to mid 90's - they often sound cheesy, and yet they're still precious (due to the memories). Man, I loved this era in anime.

Okay, but do you prefer the English dub of Bubblegum Crisis? Most people nowadays hate the older dubs of anime done back in the 90's, but if you grew up on those dubs, back when they were first released, they sound awesome (but that's probably the nostalgia talking).

Eh, been watching and buying anime since 1991 and I disagree. Even though I prefer 80s/90s anime (mostly the animation style), I still love a lot of anime released today. There was a lot of garbage back then too ya know, expensive OVAs or not. Megalo Box was a real treat with its style and presentation last year!
@Turbotef4 жыл бұрын
@Adelaine Delabin Yes but it wasn't the standard for everything (and was mostly confined to OVAs and movies). All of those qualities still exist in a lot of titles/genres these days as well. To prove your own example wrong, lots more came out from 1995-2000 too. Extremely iconic titles at that. I generally miss those times but its time to drop the nostalgia vision and get over it like I did years ago. Rebuy the old great titles remastered on BD (or pirate them) and enjoy the new stuff that keeps such themes. Thing is, I enjoyed all of the fluff, magical girl, and harem (remember these rocking the market and still do since the early 90s?) titles alongside everything else.

sandra doyle A lot of old school anime to me anyway looks and is so much better than a lot of the crap out today. So much of today's anime either looks very generic, too cute, or just stupid (One Piece lol). Hayao Miyazaki even stated that the quality of today's anime gets worse. I know James Cameron still wants to make the live action film of this, he's a fan of Bubblegum Crisis and Battle Angel, he wants to work with the creators of the manga/anime if he does the film, which I thought was cool.
@SawaneeKimbirli9 жыл бұрын
+Azure Knight for real? I loved this anime and Battle Angel and I think with the feminist push, that a show with all girl fighters would do well. Though, people will just think it's marvel/DC and not originally a Japanese anime.
@NOMNOM819 жыл бұрын
SawaneeKimbirli Yep James Cameron has been a huge fan of both series for quite awhile, and in his latest Terminator film, you can easily see the 1980's anime influence, even with some of the camera shots, and the way Sarah Connor behaves- kinda reminds me of Priss. Although I don't think he'd try to push the modern day feminist stuff. A lot of people are quite sick of that, mostly because its fake really, and a slap in the face to the early feminist, and the women today (Muslims) who have to deal with true hardship- sadly even in free countries. The feminist stuff wasn't even pushed in the anime, it was really like "these are awesome beautiful strong women, who are kick ass heroes". I always saw Sylia as the female Tony Stark minus the behaving like a douchebag lol. Priss is my favorite though because she's so mean, and 80's metal, and sort of a reference of one of my favorite films Blade Runner.
@SawaneeKimbirli9 жыл бұрын
+Azure Knight I'm a stay at home Christian mom. I'm far from the modern feminist that I disassociate with based on some of their stances. Plus the whole gender neutral crap is annoying. I love girly, pink crap and recognize that I have different strengths than a man and may not became a marine or seal and sure as heck don't expect people to lower the bar.
@NOMNOM819 жыл бұрын
SawaneeKimbirli That's bad ass, and so extremely important. I know so many kids I work with who wish they had a mother like you. It annoys me when "feminist" try to trash women like you. I also don't see them as real feminist just miserable people who want attention and special treatment lol. I also applaud the women who want to go out there and be a CEO, or whatever. My girlfriend is all about the medical world, and especially wants to help veterans out- I'm sooooo damn proud of her. She also does MMA with me (that and video games is how we became friends at first lol). When she had told me how she whooped this guy who was harassing a girl she works with- I was just too proud. ^_^
