@@shinobipizza the initial script I started with was basically chopping out the Pleasure Island sequence from Pinocchio and turning that into its own movie (think Hostel meets Pan’s Labyrinth), but I also had something closer to a live-action/animation hybrid based around the old Fleischer cartoons like Minnie the Moocher and Swing You Sinners. A bit too high-concept, but I could see these animators going for something a bit more off-kilter, harsher, with a better script behind them and free reign to really run wild rather than essentially animated shitposts that’d be booed off-stage from fanfiction.net in a fortnight.

From experience, I can tell you that the animators just get instructions (based on a storyboard/animatic) to animate something, you know? Between this episode and Tooth and Consequences, I prefer the latter. Blossom not wanting to go to the dentist because she's scared is more sympathetic to me. This episode just proves why reboot bubbles is my 2nd least favorite. Out of the three (her voice is tolerable and I don’t wish any harm for the reboot actress), she is just the most inconsistent. One episode, she’s smart and knows how to program and a later episode has her be Patrick star levels of idiocy.
