BUCEPHALANDRA DOMINATED NANO LOW TECH AQUASCAPE | STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL | AQUASCAPING TUTORIAL

Hi, This video depicts the step by step build of the Nature style nano cube predominated with bucephanandras along with other epiphytes and just one plant thats planted in the soil. We had build a previous scape called the Bucephalandra jungle but the issue with that scape was that bucephanandras had started melting because the moss underneath them was too fast in growth and it started suffocating them and that resulted in melting so at last all the buces. were re-tied on bare lava rocks and were given some time to recover and than this re-scape was done. Almost all the plants and materials used in this scape are from the previous scape with some new additions. A little change in design is done as well. We shall call this scape as Bucephalandra Jungle 2.0 and this is the first part, in the second part (which will come later) will depict the growth update of this scape. Great job mate! I have a maturing tank with Tropica Soil. My anubias and my bucephalandra are rotting I think due to the unstable pH values. How can I fix? How long does it take for Tropica Soil to settle?

Thankyou 🙏 Due to unstable or uncycled tank Buce May melt but anubias usually don’t in my experience, what water do you use ? Tap or RO ? Plus where your anubias emersed grown ?

@@nature_scape I use RO with GH+ salts. I bought my Anubias online in pots and they come from emerged growth. I only fertilize with potassium. I'm in the third week of maturation. PH 6.5 KH 1 GH 4

@Gakuman80 usually anubias do convert into its submersed form but the process is too slow and almost unnoticeable but I guess in your case it might have melted a bit fast it seems, plus I guess only the leaves must have melted and the rizhome would be ok? If it's the case don't worry it will regrown new submersed leaves in no time.

@@nature_scape Thanks for the reply. I suspect my anubias have Rhizoctonia solani. Part of the rhizome has rotted and I had to cut it, other anubias bonsai plants are showing the same symptoms. However, I had never read anywhere about bucephalandra with this problem. I will try to save the healthy plants and replace the dead ones.

@Gakuman80 In my experience bucephalandra do melt and even if they are submerged grown they sometimes melt to adjust to current water parameters so that’s ok but the leaves melt not the rizhome

Can buce actually grow without co2? I'd heard that it was borderline impossible. What about flow? Is that vital?

Yes it can definitely grow without co2. Normal flow is more than enough you just need to keep an eye on water temps. It should not exceed above max 26 ( in my experience )

is it possible to get full / good color of buce in low tech? or they will stay green bc of low light? im planning to get several different varieties of buce for my next low tech buce tank including varigata one

Absolutely you can get beautiful colours out of buce. in no co2 tank it’s just that they will need moderate light ( extreme low light might keep them green ) and before buying buces. just search and check how a specific specie looks in its submersed form as emersed and submersed colours and (a bit of) shapes vary and accordingly buy them.
