Buchla 100 Series Modular Synthesizer Sneak Preview

At Knobcon 2019, Buchla USA announced that it is reintroducing the classic 100 Series modular synthesizer.
The system is based on the original San Francisco Tape Music Center Series 100. The vintage synth design is being recreated, with input from San Francisco Tape Music Center founders Morton Subotnick & Ramon Sender, and Buchla expert Todd Barton.

I trained on an expanded version of the 100 some [mumble] decades ago. I have always wanted to revisit that machine, but I have not seen its like again - outside of a smaller 200-based setup. The 200s have their own, slightly different charms. My experiences with the older system changed my relationship to musical instruments, so it has a special place in mind. Maybe if this 100 catches on a bit, some young people with developing interests in synthesizer musical instruments will get to have similarly transformative experiences with a new version of that beautiful system. Whether Buchla makes this series affordable enough for many people to buy into it will decide the fate of the new 100. Likely this will remain a curiosity. A not-silly pricing structure could, however, bring the 100 to a much wider audience than the original ever found.

I would guess it would have cost $40k or more. Maybe the p@ndemic cut the project short, but street price might have been the biggest factor.
