We do not want hardware sample player that is controlled mainly by app. There are tons of apps ... KOALA for example, that are more powerful. I have this one and use app only for sample import. I think it was big mistake that MODAL put such a big accent on app n diminish the device itself. Oh... and the knobs are horrible! Is it so difficult to choose smooth n handy ones? No sync or midi in is lame. On the pros side the idea of a kits, grooves and envelopes make this one unique. It is handy as a simple 8 track drum machine. Ill leave this one as collector item cause it makes nice set with CRAFT 2 and SKULPT.

First of all: I'm officially in love with you after watching your performance :) ----- Is it possible to give some details about the pedals used (I think I heard the Earthquake Pedals Avalanche & Pyramids Stereo Flanging device), and, is it only the seq/arp that's playing at some moments in this great performance, or, is there a looper involved?

I wish you could have asked him how to program a root note that responds to 0v in quantizer mode. Also, how do I do a factory reset? Since they don't respond to the “Helpline” on their website I'm left with a totally useless module. So far it's been a horrible experience using 1983 and no support from Bastl. Bummed….

The onboard FX on every Sequential synth suck good time. FX are very personal and it is better to use decent hardware fx or plugins than this onboard mediocre stuff. Sequential, leave out the digi effects and spend the money on something more special. Anyhow, the Pro 3 is triumphant monosynth. The sequencer and modular control alone make this instrument very special. I am glad that three oscillators is becoming an accepted standard. It opens up a lot of possibilities. The 3rd wave and others, show that digital oscillators into analog filters sound great too. Quite why the Pro 2 and Pro 12 didn’t ram this home I don’t know. I wish they were both still available. As for Moog….. Dave Smith had to help them out with the Moog One. Bob Moog, I am sure, was a nice guy but Dave Smith gave us so much more. I sincerely hope Novation provides funds and inspiration to catapult Sequential skywards because there isn’t any competition. There, I said it out aloud.

I can't express how much respect I feel for Lisa Bella Donna after watching this - her performance is simply awe inspiring. I recently purchased a Matriarch and I'm embarrassed to say I thought it was not very versatile and quite underwhelming...until I saw this...now I know it's me and that there is a long journey of learning and exploration ahead. How cool would it be to watch her play live?

Towards the beginning of the talk, Robert is talking about the process of discovery through experimentation, which is of importance in any sound design process to an extent. The act of accepting an accidental discovery as useful is one thing ( I will know what I want when I find it), the hangover from the 70s / early 80s is the need to get back to something we found and the storage of a preset in order to go back and use it. We would need to save the whole experimental set up (carrier /processor/midi feed channels) to get a certain product. Alternatively, record into an adjacent channel and sample from there. Loved the Cuckoo clock drone btw❤
