I think this is one of his best ever Pikes. Hard to put into words the impact of the final part especially. It's like one man's musical reflection on life. The subtle crescendo and bite from 28:00-28:30 is like an attempt at crying out, before the plaintive, incessant reality of life's illusions takes hold again.
