Oh, nooooo! Haven't watched the vid yet, but I already feel terrible...

Continued.. Just finished watching the vid and THE reason you're living is possibly the most respectable, as it's nearly impossible to argue against following a country's laws. Having said that, you guys are one in a million and it was a pleasure to have been part of the adventure. You have certainly treated Nicaragua and its people with respect and your efforts to highlight the beauties of Nicaragua have been invaluable. For that and much more, you are loved by Nicaraguans the world over. Lastly, it has been a privilege (and flattering) to have Australians appreciate the beauty of our land, particularly because Australia is such a magnificent place with awe-inspiring fauna, nature, culture, etc. YOU WILL BE MISSED, but hopefully we'll see you again soon... should you decide to return to your humble home in Central America, you'll be welcomed with open arms. Sincerely, Edward

Fun watching. My wife and I was stuck in Nicaragua for 6 months because of Covid and the border closed. We also lived in Granada in a house manage by GPS - they are amazing and we had the best house help in Maria and the staff at GPS. We lost our hearts to the city and got some good friends. Nicaragua is just so very different and Granada is so beautiful that we will want to return one day. Thank you for sharing your story as it reminded me of the wonderful time we had.

@@BucketListTravellers Almost, we did however decide to fly out after 6 month when we got the offer to come with a charted flight. A little more expensive but not too bad. And we got 2 month extension of our visa usually and only had to be without our passports one week each time. But we used the same office as you show in the film, the same supermarket (so much better than the other one next door owned by Walmart) and we also had some trips out of Granada. Only thing we did not find so amusing was the Calzada except for Sarahs food at Pan de Vida :-) Funny we didn't meet as we were so few visitors left at one point.

@BucketListTravellers2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom! Mosquitos are going to be a fact of life in Nicaragua, they will be everywhere. If your accommodation has good seals on windows and doors then you should be ok. You typically only get mosquito nets when you are in accommodation out in the jungle somewhere. We found that cranking up the fans tends to keep them off you at night. Repellant should help too. @BucketListTravellers Жыл бұрын
Hi Jennistein1, that is a great idea! Quick answer to Costa RIca v Nicaragua, Nicaragua is a third of the price of Costa Rica and less developed. We hear that Nicaragua is what Costa RIca was like 30 years ago. We would argue that you get a more more rustic and authentic experience in Nicaragua, but also enjoyed Costa RIca too for the added mod cons.

@@BucketListTravellers Everywhere was AMAZING! A few of our fav spots was the little surf town of Tamarindo, we had the best pasta of our lives there (and we have been to Italy), We to one spot (bueno vista adventure park) with horse back riding, zip lining and they had a jungle water slide that is 600 m long (that was a really fun ride and you sure got your exercise in climbing back to the top for multiple runs) and we spent a few nights a really secluded spot called Recreo. It was more expensive, but a great experience, you have your own chief, live right in the jungle in your own little spot, you can play tennis, go horse back riding, they have a private beach...everything is included at no extra cost - really great if you want a little pampering.

Hi Randy, yes Australia is having a tough time with Delta right now. Flight caps into Australia (limitations on how many Aussies can return each week) have also tightened recently, we have just made our peace that we won't we returning until next year at the earliest.

Not sure if this comment group is still live. After watching yours and a few other videos it seems you were most experienced with regard short term travel. I was contemplating renting a home for 3 months if feasible and take my two girls 15 & 11 for a stay action to assist with learning Spanish. I wondered if you could let me know if that would be feasible finding a nice place to stay that the girls could also feel like it's similar to an inclusive holiday. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
@BucketListTravellers7 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Yes, our comments section is still active. What an amazing gift you are giving your daughters! You are creating memories and skills that will last them a lifetime. We have a wealth of information about Nicaragua on our website: jjbucketlisttravellers.com/destinations/nicaragua/ so that's the best place to start for planning your trip. Granada or San Juan del Sur are probably going to be the most suitable places to base yourselves. Depends whether you want beach or city. You should be able to find Spanish classes in either location. 3 months should be a good amount of time to start getting comfortable with the language. All the best Jay and Jon (Bucket List Travellers)

Thanks for the wonderful video. How do I get a visa to enter Nicaragua?
@BucketListTravellers Жыл бұрын
You're welcome Afrimerica Tours. Nicaragua provides 90 day visas when you arrive in Nicaragua, however if you require a visa to be able to leave your country to travel to Nicaragua then unfortunately we don't know what the process is for that.

We are going at the end of october coming from the usa. Are they going to be closing borders?
@BucketListTravellers3 жыл бұрын
Not as far as we know, but in these times things are quite volatile so it's hard to predict what may happen even a few days into the future at the moment. We hope you enjoy your trip!
@allencrist57972 жыл бұрын
I didn't read every comment but couldn't find one that talked about the 6 month visa ext. What I am doing right now (working on residency) is 90 day visa with 3 - 30 day extentions (the max you can get) = 6 months. Yes you do have to deal with sending off your passports or heading into Managa, but if you do this, you only have to leave the country 2x per year. It's really not a huge deal. Hopefully I will get residency soon and won't have to worry.
@BucketListTravellers2 жыл бұрын
Hi Allen, we didn't think there was a 6 month extension. We were only aware of what you are doing now. We were lucky enough to get extensions for 18 months. It helped that the borders were closed anyway for most of that time! Yes, it is so much more convenient than doing a border run every couple of months.
