I'm Australian but have lived in Indonesia for Nye on 30 years. I always love my trips to Malaysia. The Malays are so proud when I speak to them in Malay. Generally the people, food and transportation in Malaysia are great. Whilst nowhere is perfect, I'm glad you are showing the nicer side of SE Asia.

One of the best ways to experience the local culture is to speak with the people, in this case the kids who will definitely benefit from these conversations outside the classroom. We had a similar encounter in Kantang town, Trang, Southern Thailand 🇹🇭 these kids are so amazingly curious and spoke with us with open hearts 💕 It made our trip even more memorable than it already was. 🙏

I have a totally different experience back then in Italy, they were really passionate and friendly toward us malaysian, there was this old couple held my hamds and kept talking in italian excitedly but I was desperate because I dont understand at all😂 wherever we went they were so happy when they know we r malaysian. Finally I found out that there was malaysian actor in italy for quite long time permamently, italian so love him/her, so.they loved malaysian too. cute italians to me🥰

But sad to say sometimes people from poor country or less develope country their mentality is alittle bit different and they show bad manners to us which will make we malaysian cant adapt with their characters. That is what is happening in malaysia right now which cause alot of crime cases from them in our community

@@stmpo5595 Of course there is statistic involving foreigners in Malaysia, mostly foreign workers which constitute 7% of Malaysian population and 1/3 are from Indonesia and the rest from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnamese, Cambodian and the Philippines. In term of expats who are professional only constitute 1% of Malaysian population. The crimes involved between foreign workers themselves, between foreign workers and Malaysians. Based on statistic by the Malaysian Home Ministry in 2020, 3.8 crimes per 1000 population committed by foreigners in Malaysia, meanwhile by Malaysians 5.3 per 1000 population. The ratio basis, of course Malaysian commit more crimes than foreigners but the crimes commit by foreigners also substantial since Malaysia receiving foreign workers since 1970s and 1980s to develop the country. That's also included illegal immigrants and the foreigners who misused their visas to stay in Malaysia for illegal works eg. scammer, prostitute, money laundering etc which included from Central Asian countries, Eastern European countries, African countries and other neighbouring countries and China.

I can confirm the jungle railway line is top notch. On time and great modern trains. I'm currently in Gua Musang. I came for a couple of days but ended up staying for a week. Cool town with friendly locals.

nak tumpang cerita.. dulu operasi diberhentikan sebab landasan rosak, tanah runtuh dan train tergelincir dari landasan.. banjir tu penyumbang cerita juga.. lama jugak lepas tu, ktm jual tiket dari kl sampai ke gua musang sahaja . lepas tu kena naik bas (kira shuttle la ni) yang ktmb sediakan untuk ke stesen mana dah lupa.. untuk teruskan perjalanan ke wakaf bharu.. disebabkan ni lah saya dah tak balik kg naik train.. sebab rasa adventure sangat proses nak balik kg nya 😂 sekarang dah ada balik dah trip tu.. cuma perjalanan bermula dari gemas.. membuatkan saya sangat berfikir panjang utk ke gemas dulu. 😅 dulu start dari kl sentral terus ke wakaf bharu.

Since I always receive special consideration everywhere I go as a disabled person, I don't truly know how kind Malaysians are. I believed it to be more of a privilege than an act of friendliness on their part. However, many of the vlogs I watched shared the same experience, the friendliness of Malaysians, and some even expressed disbelief when they learned that a stranger who they didn't even know had already paid for their food. I simply hope that my fellow Malaysians will keep up our good deeds without trying to impress anyone else, but rather as a part of our culture that we have cultivated since we were in school to be gracious with our guests and treat them with respect.

Hi there! So glad you get to take the jungle train. I was born in Temangan, the station before Kuala Krai. There were no roads then and the only way to travel was by train (or walk the jungle trails). It was always special to get to go to Kuala Krai (the big town!!) once every couple of months. The train only ran once a day then (up north toward Tumpat and back south again to Gemas and continuing towards Singapore). Every time we would go to Kuala Krai, we would stay with friends or relatives and come back the next day on the north-bound train. The train looks spiffy now!! The ones that I remember had slatted wooden benches.

That is some gorgeous scenery through the limestone cliffs. You have really traveled off the beaten track compared to most foreign tourists 😀. Western visitors I sense typically travel up and down the west coast of the peninsula (that Langkawi - Penang - Ipoh - KL - Melaka - JB route).
