Great tips and awesome video!! I can only think of two tips to add: Use your hoe in the wild when gathering berries, mushrooms and flowers. You get that same luck chance of double the harvest. Mine the coal when mining ore. In mid to late game the amount of coal you need for smelting bars is huge! Those nodes in the mine usually give 10 to 12 pieces of coal vs making your own coal one piece at a time.

Great tips, thank you! I didn't pay attention to the coal amounts harvested in the mine, but I've been running short on it making bars like you said! 🤪

Thank you! I am LOVING this game so much. It's the perfect chill game for me. I was very much over having games that I have to socialize with villagers, and give gifts every day, everything is completely centered around farming, you had to constantly worry about inventory and storage, making sure you get to bed on time and making sure you rush everything because there is a calendar with festivals and dates 🙄 ugh I am so over that type of gameplay! I've played only 10 hours but I got to skilled on treasure hunter and now I'm starting on cook. Im to get to skilled on everything and then level them all up again. It reminds me of fantasy Life. In between main quests I just take like 3 days to explore the island and the forest, the caves. Solve puzzles, find lumas and tepid stones... It's just been soooo much fun and so relaxing to do what I want when I want. No having to go home to sleep or empty inventory. And they make resources so easily obtainable so that you can progress. Some games feel like the devs designed it to punish you if you don't get enough of a certain resource at one time. This is a game with 0 frustration and 0 boredom for me. I've heard some people call it empty but for me personally I fully disagree. I don't need or want npc relationships and dialogue. I don't need a huge story in a game like this. I just want to log on and explore and make a nice island home. The farm space they give us is MASSIVE. Way bigger than most farming games. It's fun to set up an area for each job and not stress about having to make space. It is the first game in a long time that feels to me that the devs actually wants us to enjoy our time and not have to stress. I LOVE this game and I'm grateful for the tips!! 🩵🩵🩵 (Sorry for the essay! 😂 I just really love it!)

I LOVE your essay 🤣 and how much you love Luma Island! You're right, the absence of a curfew, inventory limitations, and stupid gift-giving allows players to focus on exploration and farming, which is so refreshing! For those who want events, daily chores, and more "depth" (though I'd argue that this game has depth with the professions and bits of lore that are revealed during quests) - there are plenty of games that offer this type of gameplay. Luma Island is so chill and beautiful I want to eat it!

@@SwedePotato314 fully agree with this. This wasn’t meant to be a stardew/harvest moon clone. If you were hoping for that I guess I can see how you could be disappointed but those of us who weren’t expecting a clone are very happy and it doesn’t feel like a shallow/empty game at all

@kabatram exactly!! It really is a super pretty game too. The bird sounds are super realistic and relaxing, and the lightning is STUNNING. Like sunsets and sun rises and the streetlights. It's all very beautiful.

New tip, the towers with the glass crystal on top can be broken by throwing a rock at it and will unlock the treasure chests locked in the little buildings. Also follow the chickens from post to post to get a bonus chest in all of the biomes. You can also mine the rocky bits on your farm by hoeing them multiple times.

Want a specific luma? Take a new toon directly to the farm temple and run the course to the big chest and see what you get. The luma drops are random. Not what you want? Just delete the toon and try again. Took me 3 tries but I got the adorable mushroom 🍄 luma and I love him 😍! He chirps at me when he finds a chest, too cute! I turned on the arachnophobia icon. The ghosts are a lot easier to see and I don’t mind whipping them lol. Thank you for this lovely update. You’ve earned a subscriber. Have a happy Luma day!

Very interesting tip about the Luma, thank you! I love the mushroom dude too. ♥ You're right about the ghosts being easier to see (and hear because of their chains)!

Does the ghost replacement take damage the same as the spider, or like the regular ghost? Because even with a maxed out whip it still takes 3 hits to finish the regular ghost, while the jungle cave spider will take only 1 hit
@BuckeyeBunny7 күн бұрын
@@kabatram My whip is at the beginning of volcanic level, and I can whack a cave ghost in one whipping. 🤣 That sounds so bad without the proper context. But I did notice the ghost on my farm takes 3 whacks.

Lots of great tips, thank you. I bought this game when it first released for sale on November 20. I've got 95 hours into it already. Love the art style and ambient sounds and music. The main problem I have with the game is that it's basically a building game where you are suppose to turn your little plot of land into a big developed homestead with a large villa. Well, my real life tendencies is to do the opposite. In other words, the less development and destruction of nature the better. So after 95 hours of play and 253 in-game days, I still have my little camper and just a tiny plot of wheat and grapes. But, my whip is maxed to level 15 and my pick axe is almost there at 14. I've gotten to the jungle area and made it to the top of the mountain. Still, I'm having a great time with the game. My only negative criticism of the game is that it removes all responsibilities for your actions. In other words, if you aren't careful, there's no consequences for your mistakes. The spiders, bears, snowmen, etc. can't harm you. It kind of takes away any excitement from the game in my opinion.
@BuckeyeBunny10 күн бұрын
I can understand your viewpoints, and I agree about the lack of consequences. In the demo, they gave players the option of "hero" (death and spiders) and "cozy" - and I wish they'd bring this back to give players a chance to play in ways that suit their style.

I believe upgrading the tools also useful to increase the chances to get more than one item for each action due to luck buff, like high level fishing rod give chances to get 2 fish at one cast, for farming hoe means higher changes to get everseed when harvesting crops

Yes!! I forgot about the buffs for the tools aside from the hoe. Great tip!!

Tips* 1. Use your hoe to harvest foragables, there's a chance to get more. 2. You can replant the foragables at base and hoe them up again with a chance to get more. My hoe is maxed and sometimes get x4. 3. You can place grass, sand and gravel to decorate your place or cover the spots you've accidently hoed up.

I don't enjoy the fishing minigame either. What I did was just ignore fishing until I upgraded the fishing rod to max level, then you can get lucky and catch 4 fish at a time, which cuts down on the fishing by a lot.

wish they would make professions actually useful besides making money, blacksmith for making different weapons, not just the whip, maybe armor / clothes , it makes no sense that you can go into the mountains wearing a tshirt, maybe food / water that you can actually eat for certain buffs, different Lumas do different things, a few 2-3 of em fight enemies or keep em at distance so they dont attack player, stuff like that
@BuckeyeBunny5 күн бұрын
So survival mechanics plus Palworld style pals.😁I agree this would make things more fun, but I'm guessing the devs won't take the game in this direction. (But I highly recommend Palworld if you haven't played it). ♥
