My friend, I'm telling you the straight truth here! Your videos have created a whole new passion for me. Watching the work you do has driven me to get trained in operating power saws in an area where all falling is mechanized. It has led me to begin operating a small firewood business, and I have found a love for going out and cutting wood. My Arvika 5 star and I spend a lot of time together, as well as my 372 when I am out in the woods. Am I learning? You bet! Slowly but surely. Making errors along the way in sharpening both the saw and the axe, getting both stuck in the wood, but I am out there at age 48 learning by myself as I go. And for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Love to all!

Always amazes me how a guy can split fir over and over again and never seem to get tired of it. Green fir splits like butter more often than not. The only wood that I think splits easier is green alder or green maple. Fir is always tougher at the base of the tree to split. Buckin never seems to get tired of this stuff 🪓.

I'm at about an 11.5 on the gratitude and spiritual scale currently. I'm grateful for this channel honestly. It really just started synchronizing with everything not only because of the tree industry. But about the whole direction and style of business That no one understands. It runs off karma. And one man. Helping his community with his lifeline and powersaw.

You have fast/deft hands. When the "Laser beam" bounced rather than split, you rotated the bit in your hands in your back swing. I try to learn something new every day, today that move was it. Thanks for what you do, stay safe in your journey.

I've got to say this channel has grew my skills exponentially in all aspects of wood from axes, saws, wedges and overall mentality. Watching these videos every day how could you not learn something and not become better? I'm a wood splitting lover whereas before I hated it. Now I know why. I wasn't good at it and relied on strength and luck which tired me out quickly. I could go on for days about what I've learnt solely from these videos. Thank you Buckin for these consistent uploads and always sharing your knowledge with us. Seriously!

Your videos got me back into hand splitting and I’m very grateful for that. I’ve got a big splitter, and I had been processing firewood with it, but for a couple of years now I’ve switched back to swinging and honestly I feel like it takes *less effort* at the end of the day. I’m smack dab in the middle of the woods and my firewood is often pretty far from the road. Now I just split it where the tree lays and load a wheelbarrow that I push to the truck. Cheers, brother! I took down a 33” California Black Oak this morning and I got some swinging in! My hands hurt like hell, but I’ll sleep well tonight!

Buckin, I'm surprised that you and I use the same handkerchief, my god man, you so funny! The laser beam axe is tremendous. You always make my day when you split timbers, it's something I never had to do. In fact, firewood is used in my town for esthetic purposes only, we use electricity to heat our homes. The was a time many years ago when I was dating my wife that her house was heated by a floor furnace heated by natural gas. You are knocking out the firewood, each Axe you use handles the job perfectly.

There is something to be said about an older gentle-man in a field where lots burn out young.. AND NOTICE I SAID GENTLE-MAN. You can go home everyday, a day older, grumpy, and tired or you can be the man who walks in and the room opens right up, smiling kids, happy wife, happy life. It's all outlook. Consience . Not meaning to insult either some people are just made to fire on all cylinders till the day they sputter out. Louie reminds me a lot of my grandpa. He'll get right into whatever you're doing and do his damnedest Good video buckin' 👍

love the content buckin, this video has compelled me to look at axes on eBay for a couple hours. Luckily I’ve found multiple candidates for a laxer beam of my own, I even found an old Kelly real similar to the wood bullet. I already have two plumbs but I don’t really use them for splitting on account of their thin profile and the lack of softwoods in my area. I’ll make sure keep y’all updated on any future projects. I really like hickory handles and some fiberglass. Fiskars X27 is a splitting axe, they have an eight pound Isocore maul too. Well worth the $60 price tag for the X27. Husqvarna has a line made by Gardena in the European Union (EU). I also have the Husqvarna S2800 splitting axe with a 27 1/2 '' handle and five pound head. It retails for $99 and you can pound aluminum bangers with the oversized poll, its well worth the price again especially if you split a lot of balsam fir for campfires, like I do. They can't replace the nostalgia of the "Old Hickory" but the heads have a more modern design, specifically for splitting purposes and stick deeper than a traditional felling axe.
