Bella is a total dream. When I think of her history as the spare companion for Diablo, a true young devil of an equine youngster!! Whoa-oh!! What a difference!! Tara, it was so wonderful that God prepared you over the years to deal with the outcome of the purchase and then the great blessing for having made the wise decision to send him bad to the breeder. We saw in a matter of days what Bella's strengths would be as she was able to begin her rapid growth!!! Watching her now brings spontaneous laughter from those of us who know her well. If there were ever a four-legged gamine, it is Beautiful Bella!! She has such a passion for life, having begun enjoying it thoroughly since the day after Diablo went back home, where he was thrilled to return. We saw the video of his return to cavorting with his stablemates. In her first month, she used to talk to you with whickers and small whinnies, then changing to her signature snort, yet continuing to be the conversationalist. She is a total delight and would never hurt you on purpose, although sometimes when she's dashing around and the grass is wet, she has slidden on it unexpectedly. It is impossible to not want to hug her neck and give her a kiss!! (Though living so far away, she is quite safe. 💗🥰😍🤩😀😉💜👍

When Bella was in the field with Farouk and she put her ears back, I thought she was going to show off her incredible "bullfighting" skills to those other horses! She has so much character, it's a joy to watch her. And her new rug looks beautiful on her; nice choice!

The transformation in Bella is really amazing. When you think just a few months ago you couldn’t even touch her. I admit, I do get a bit worried that one day you might accidentally get kicked but it would not be intentional. She has bonded to you, thinking back to her first outing and how well she did that day. She is just having fun in her way and I am relieved that you are not punishing her for it.

Bella looks lovely in her new rug. The colour is very attractive on her! Even though she is excited she is very aware that you are there beside her and she is careful about where her feet are! It's interesting that she does the same thing with her buddy Farouk and is just as aware that she shouldn't kick close to him either. Every day she shows more signs of the intelligent mare she will be as she grows older! For a youngster, her behaviour is really wonderful and says a lot for her breeding and for the treatment she has received since she came to share your lives.

Bella is quite protective of her home, her people and the boys. She just isn't going to take no B.S. from other horses or sheep! Most of us know that youthful (and older) animals can get wound up. Ignore those that groan about what your doing, they don't understand your relationship with YOUR animals. I don't think you have to defend how you train - it is obviously from love and your animals know that. I for one want to just thank you for sharing them with us. They are a lovely distraction and fulfill something in those of us that watch. Keep up the good work!

I love to watch you work with Bella. I think it is beautiful to feel the love you both have for each other. She is an Andalusian and the breed shows in her. This is the horse that matadors ride. When you watch her as soon as she gets inside the gate, she rears with both her front legs together in perfect unison. Just lovely. She performs naturally. I do love all three of your kids, but Bella is the most noticeably changed after all the work you’ve done with her. She is looking so healthy and she seems to have such a good nature. Her ears are almost always forward and the look in her eyes is always alert and interested. Your relationship with her is so good and it’s obvious when you discipline her that she knows she has done wrong, but she is not scared of you. I have really enjoyed watching you build this relationship and in fact maintain your wonderful relationship with all of your horses. ❤️🥰

Whoa, that looks cold! The weather in the Waikato here is very very hot and muggy, I tried painting window surrounds inside this afternoon but the temperature was too high, could be a morning job! When looking at the ‘Bucking Bella’ video her whole body posture was not aggressive. Her ears are loose or forward, her face is ‘yikes, those fluffy clouds with legs’. When she gets into the ménage, she’s like any other human youngster bolting outside to play ‘Yippeeeeee’ complete with squeals of delight. Keep doing what you are doing Tara. Amazing to see how no nonsense she is with the next door neighbours. She’s certainly protective of her big brother, and she’s not even 18months old yet. Gutsy girl.

@@marshamoore8385 yes, Covid and bad things happening with republicans omg. My dh is a veterinarian, he won't let anyone in the room without a mask. Some have left with their animals unseen. We are lucky, our son and his wife are specialty RN's at the (people) hospital, and received their vaccines! My younger sister is an RN in KS, after I got after her she took her vaccine. My dh and I are awaiting a place in line for ours :) We are hanging in there, holidays were terrible with not seeing our son/his wife and their 3 kids across town. They work with Covid and we all agree not to till vaccines for us. You take care too Marsha and belated happy holidays!

We always imprinted and handled our foals from birth which makes them eager to learn and more accepting of training. You never had that with Bella. You have gone such a long way in the 6 months you have had her. Bella loves and is developing a deep trust in your training and firm but gentle methods. You have to do your methods that work the best for you and each horses situation and personality. Continued good luck with your work with Bella!

There is something about those chilly days that brings out the crazy in many horses😅 as for bucking Bella she is beautiful, full of life and showing her zest by bucking and gambling about. Personally I have to remind myself of her age. She is so mature and, as you say, has come so far in her short life. Show me a youngster who doesn't get the sillies and that will be a youngster who has no character and will be a boring horse.

One more thing (finally got cap lock off), I agree I think Bella is young, feeling better than she's ever felt in her life, is comfortable with her surroundings, and you all and has gained a lot of confidence. Also, as you said, being pent up for 5 days as a horse, is a long time - they're ready to let off steam. :) Then there are those sheep to consider...it's no wonder she was eager to buck and fart - hehehe!!

Tara love the new cover for Bella that green blue color is striking against her coat and makas her look so girly. I noticed how she was flagging her tail a lot in this video and galavanting about. Excellent video, excellent commentary on Bella and her acting up on the way and in the menage! You are an open book and let yourself and horses be shared with all. Bella has come along beautifully, especially when one has followed her journey into your hands and family! Bella is healthy NOW (tweren't when you bought her), trained to stand, to take a halter and be led, to load on and off a horse box, has been taught to have her hooves done by a farrier, to be in a stall, to eat carrots and treats... She gets washed off, mane braided, has her RUGS PUT ON and off, she know's you,, Rens, Steve, and Ike and accepts you all. We are very proud of her and her accomplishments via YOU and your family. At just a year and a half, considering she had spent her first year only ever outside with her mother, never in a stall, with NO human interaction to speak of, no training, nothing except running with her mom and a lean to, no vet care/exams... I'd say she's doing very well, as you know a "babe" will have their whoopy moments, also moments of confusion, irritation, fear, excitement, like all animals. This is a PROCESS and she's doing exceptionally well at it all because of you. Thank you Tara for sharing her and your journey along the way! We have fallen in love with it all :)

You are such an experienced rider and trainer it’s strictly up to you as to what safety measures you take and I completely agree with starting training young with all animals It’s so hard at this time of year to keep them exercised with outside time. @@pennywebb867 and Elaine, hi from Toronto! I grew up in NS, and I also smirk when folks complain of cold! And, as I recall, there was usually a Fierce Wind blasting along with the cold... My Newfoundland friends said when their snow was so wild it blocked up their doors, they'd just drop a kid out a window to shovel the doors clear! Resourceful!

Dig out is very true. Depending on wind direction one door can be completely blocked by snow. You find another door you can get out of and start clearing the snow from doors, walkways and driveways. We just leave the windows blocked! You can't fight mother nature.

This was fun to watch. Loved your comments on our youngster; you know what you're doing. Bella has come a long way; until you rescued her she never felt strong enough to be happy!!! "Cabin fever" ; being cooped up inside & away from the boys on their outing no doubt drove her a little "crazy".

I’m learning about horses through your channel. No first hand experience but just looking at her behavior kinda reminds me of when I was young😏 We all have our moments. The two equine friends were glad to be back in the field! Bella is just a youngster still a baby just being a fresh youngster. If people think Bella was being aggressive try having a thoroughbred colt dancing around on the end of a lead-rope full of exuberance.
