Welcome to Episode 7 of The Spectrum Show.
In this episode we take a look back to September 1983 to get all the latest Sinclair news and latest Spectrum game releases.
We have a Spectrum arcade shootout -- this time it's Moon Patrol. Which of the Spectrum versions will come out on top?
We review some older games and take a look at some newer titles.

I suppose all games become easier once you play them enough, but I was basing the results against the arcade machine, which was so much easier to play straight away. We all have our favs though :-)

Watching all the versions of Moon Patrol I kept thinking...man we could really do with sone BCs Quest for Tires here. A far superior take for anyone wanting this style of gameplay.

I love 180 I still play it now best darts game ever in my opinion.my favourite speccy game was Bruce lee followed by bomb jack and metro cross

Love your work and I look forward to every new episode! Any chance of a Kong review in the style of the Moon Buggy comparison? And, if you can make level 2 of the hideous CTech version you will rise even higher in my estimation! Keep it up!!

I'm sure the inlay for 180 had a list of check-outs. Maybe another game had it. New to your channel and getting caught up.

Thanks for the feedback. Ugh! I bought the C-Tech version based on the adverts when it was released... after five minutes I threw the inlay away and taped over the game with something else! All requests considered... Kong may be a long job though :-)

I think you're being a tad harsh on Anirog's Moon Buggy - I don't remember it as being all that tough to work out the jumps. Haven't played it for 25 years or more though so maybe I should dig it out...

atarisoft games for the commodore vic20 were the best versions for the vic available, so im not surprised at the speccy moon patrol from atarisoft being excellent

Paul, you're not the only one who's crap at playing yet still tries. Looking at the zombie monsters new release in particular I believe there is a very large market for super easy modern remakes as this assumption that games must be 'hard' is wrong. One tip I would give to anyone knocking out a lovely new speccy game is to make it ridiculously easy, even if that goes against your grain. You'll be surprised how many 'crap' gamers out there will thank you for it! Nintendo is learning this by making their once very tough mario games much easier these days - and I'm all for that too.
