One of the things I’ve learned about Buckley being an angel, even though he’s giving her advice and she’s just pissed off at him. I’ll say clearly Luanne don’t shoot the messenger. He’s just delivering you a message. Jesus was right all along.

Luanne's reaction is actually pretty surprising. Buckley managed to salvage the situation by saying that Jesus was trying to tell her she was meant for something else...yet Luanne is usually the most devoutly Christian of all the characters, and you'd think her first reaction to Jesus sending her a message that she's meant for something else would be to listen and believe. Here she actually doubts Jesus! 😮 We know she eventually listens and decides to quit in the end, but yeah I just seems unlike her. And being a devout Christian myself, I'd have questions if God or Christ, or an angel or Spirit sent by them told me something like this. Lol
@RogueT-Rex8468 Жыл бұрын
Actually that felt pretty real. When you put your heart and mind into something, really getting into something that you make a part of yourself… letting go is like letting go of a loved one in a way. A part of yourself that you nurtured on a literally spiritual level. So being to told, by anyone, to cut it off is like asking to kill a part of your soul. It’s scary and it hurts and you will try to resist… because you’re human. I kinda- and maybe still am- going through that. It’s fine for her to react that way, and anyone really. Be upset, cry… but don’t curse the Lord over it ever. Just sit back, pray about it and reflect. Oftentimes what you want isn’t what you thought you needed. Had a friend tried to get into nursing thinking that’s what she was meant for- passed flying colors- but she was miserable. Surprisingly found her place unexpectedly in the oilfield helping the workers on sight. But- long and short of it is… devout or not, you’re only human. All you can do is pray and wait it out. Keep Yeshua with you all steps of the way. Whether you listen or not, you’ll learn something for the better in the end. God bless you all, Sibs. Take care on your journey.

But what was she meant for? Cause she did eventually become a barber. Unless it was like the matrix, where her hearing she couldnt do it made her do it. I can't remember this far back.

@@MichelangeloVA I'm thinking it's more the latter. Despite how secular the world is, God is real and he does communicate with us, he has a purpose for each individual. It's just surprising that Luanne actually doubted words that came from Jesus, when she herself is usually known for being the most devoutly Christian of the cast of characters. Then again I guess we all come to that point, if God tells us something we don't want to hear, we might doubt at first, and Luanne is no exception.

You Could argue buckleys angel was just a projection of her stress and self doubt/expectations for herself. you can also see the internal struggle of someone who doesn't know if this is the path they really want to take or should they just give up and do something else. (i think that's the message here)

Luanne does realize Buckley's angel is just a figment of her imagination, right? Plus, when it comes to college majors or careers, you gotta be more realistic on what you really wanna do with your life, and honestly, this doesn't give those girls at the beauty school the right to treat Luanne horribly since mean girls are actually stereotypical. Also, this is why you should always keep your eyes on the road. 1:01

Mike Judge probably wanted to avoid depicting Jesus, as most adult animated shows often depicted him in a more sacrilegious light, and Mike Judge's depiction of religion, or particularly Christianity, on King of the Hill was often more positive, some episodes even ending on great religious messages.

Realistic depiction of God/religion: It brings you down, distracts you, upsets you, and gets you in a jam…and then bails of you…
@christianjohnson5379 Жыл бұрын
Not true at all, it's the world that brings us down, distracts us and upsets us constantly gets us in jams. God is literally the only way we can find relief from these obstacles. The problem with Luanne was she couldn't accept the words which Buckley was delivering from Jesus. Sometimes we believers receive answers to our prayers which we don't want to hear, as those answers often mean we have to make big changes in our lives that we're reluctant to make, or that we have to go down and completely different path than the one we intended. Yet when we do what God intends for us to do, and submit our wills to him, we will find that the path he wants us to tread will lead us to a greater happiness.

And what happened at the end of the series? Luanne was happily married, with a child on the way and a great job at a family barber shop. God didn't bail on shit. It's people who bail on God / religion / Jesus. People ask, oh, well how can God allow evil to exist? Better question: why do YOU allow evil to exist?
