It was great talking to you yesterday Dale. Always love to watch your videos and show people how to scout. You are a dying breed but show that it is necessary to find seasonal food sources to be successful.

Thank you for all the great content. I hunt just south of Pembine and I’m going to try setting up some licking branches this year.
@Buckman-1012 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment. Try to get those licking branches out as soon as possible because if deer start hitting it,sometimes a licking branch may turn into a major breeding scrape. Good luck to you,and I do know that area quite well from in the past.

Fantastic videos. Why do you only hunt from the ground? Swirling winds in PA make it a tough prospect.
@Buckman-101Ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Michael. Personally,I was bored hunting in trees.A buck would walk by,and I would shoot it.No interaction,and no intensity for me.Also I was raised hunting from the ground and the challenge has been wonderfully through these years. You might find this strange but I remember being in trees and hear deer snorting in the distance. I find less of that on the ground.Believe it or not.

Great info, I always look forward to hearing about your experiences. I usually stay out of the deer woods until late October. This year I’m going to try the ground blinds. I appreciate your wisdom 👍🏼

We always saw a lot of deer across the border just south of the Land o lakes area. Check the swamps , thickets, anywhere the landscape changes . Good luck to ya hunting the Northwoods. 🦌

Thanks for another great video Dale. You've got me keyed in on looking into hazelnuts (if i can find them up here) something that wasn't even on my radar!

My plan in the early part of the season is I hunt any water source. We don’t have hardly any oaks there’s a few but not many. So even doing the gun season if it’s warm I will hunt a water source. Nice video with great tips 👍
@Buckman-1012 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Dan. I want to say that probably 80 percent of my stands are near water also. Good luck buddy.

Hey Dale another great video with lots of questions answered! Not to change the subject,but is see some red paint on some of the trees,is there certain colors the loggers or forestry service uses for marking trees 🎄? Like for cutting or borders or property lines ? See it alot on federal and state land ,but can't always tell what they're up to? Thanks?
@Buckman-1012 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment.years back when it was logged they will spray the border for cutting.And at times will spray trees to keep. If it was near private land the border of private would be blue,and the red would designate how far close to the border to cut.

hi Gary.Sometimes the tree may be stressed a little,and will drop a few green ones. that's what I look for.At least you know there's some around. A couple weeks,the boys will shed their velvet.
