I’ve taken up learning how to upholster and have been practicing with thrift store finds. Your videos are both highly informative and inspiring!

Man. You're good. I don't like double piping either. Love deco tacks tho. Never dreamed I could have both. Always Imagined it would be way too much. Leave it to you to have the answer. You're a genius! Adding minimal tacks over hand made ribbon? Looks absolutely FABULOUS!! You took Geat Grandma's bedroom castoff, and transformed it into a thing of timeless beauty. She's front parlour worthy now. I can't wait for part 2! Btw... Is the sagless webbing you used 17 oz. Jute Burlap?

Kim, are you ever going to make a video showing how to mix your dye stain. I have poor luck with it---------great video, by the way
@Buckminsterupholstery4 жыл бұрын
Aniline dye can be very frustrating to get colors right. I've had a lot of bad luck getting desired color. Varies from one wood to another. No videos planned. Ironically in shooting this video the color I started with was too orange so I deleted the footage and re-shot it with another dye after scrubbing it clean again.

I love your videos. I am working on reupholstering a chair I bought. I'd love to keep its original charm. I've been searching for the right cotton for the chair seat, but every search leads to me to batting. Where can I find it?
@Buckminsterupholstery4 жыл бұрын
My source for the (nice quality) cotton batting you see in this video only sells to people in the trade with "sales tax exempt" status. State ID numbers required, etc.

You must be the one of the few people who can afford to have a cat. I have recovered two chairs using the techniques to a less professional standard with your help. Birdy
