I was 4 when I saw this on Eurovision, never to hear it again. I fell in love with the song but my parents didn't know what I was talking about, so I always kept the song close to my heart, because at 4 years old, it made me extremely happy - I've always loved music. Now, I am 36. Watching Eurovision tonight, there was a clip of the song, I jumped up, told my husband "OMG, that's THE SONG!!". Over 30 years took me to find this damn song. So, here I am. It still makes me happy!!!!

That's exactly what happened to me with ABBA:s take a chance on me. I heard it as a toddler, but I only remember the classic Cynth session, then I got up to my teens or so and found it. That feeling is something... This song is happier though ^^

@@hanno-erdmanntietz8424 I know the problem we have and its primarily the BBC not taking it seriously or possibly deliberately failing it to push us away from europe. There is also the issue of toxicity that may have been the result of Terry Wogan's drunken rants in the 2000s that turned opinion here against eurovision. It boils my blood when people blame it all on excuses such as Brexit, everyone hates us and block voting. In reality we send mostly trash songs.

Yes. Probably 'Sun-In' which was basically neat peroxide. I 'streaked' my dark hair with it. The 'streaks' simply went ginger. So I tried to cover it with a Clairol black hair colour. I actually rather liked the Bachelor's Mushy Pea colour I was left with. My head teacher was less impressed & promptly suspended me til the following Monday. Happy Days!

I knew Bucks Fizz, I'd just forgotten the song until I watched the Graham Norton show.

I never heard of b this group until now, this minute. The act reminded me of the Brady Bunch when they sang Keep On Dancing as the Silver Platters.

i can just imagine how people would react if someone tried to do a performance like that today, 2 white males, 2 white females, and the 2 guys ripping the skirts off the girls, the outrage would be hilarious

And yet those days held so much more innocence and fun (and a lot of sex too, of course...) than these days. It was all just a bit of a laugh - a forgotten concept in today's post-PC world. Give me back the 80s - and then the 90s, of course, which just added the unending fun that was old-skool rave into the mix. Such good times.

I posted on the Eurovision site that this version was so much better done than what they performed at Eurovision. I have no idea what happened that night, nerves, bad orchestra, some out of pitch singing. This version is so much better and I like even way more than the studio recording,

This performance is still embarrassing, even across the years. So contrived! Imagine the reaction, had the girls reached across and ripped off the guys' trousers instead!
