I Have the 40# I had for almost 4 years been using a 30# Horsebow. Last week i wanted a second bow. I ordered this 40 pounder. Never shot with a longbow in my life. But ill get to it. Good revire

excellent review..... this is just the sort of comprehensive information and practical testing that we need when looking to buy a bow at this price range . If there was one thing absent on your channel that I think viewers like myself would dearly like to see , it would be a detailed arrow tuning lesson. For novice archers trying to match their arrows to a particular bow or interested in making their own arrows there isn't really much detailed help on the Net . Being able to tell what an arrow flight or where an arrow hits the target or the direction it lays over on the target tells us and selecting the correct spine and point weights and flite profiles etc would be so helpful in improving accuracy and achieving the best arrow match to a bow.

Bought the 35# after this reveiw. Great and silent bow , shooting with it in the forest on stumps.. , need to practice on how I release the string.

They are pretty bows but for me I would spend a little bit less and buy the Phoenix Korean bow, it will probably get more speed out of it, you can go with a 30 pound, it’s super light and you can shoot off for either side, that’s just my opinion what do I know

nice arrow flight and except the odd one bounces off the shelf. maybe need slightly higher nocking (even though western archery forum types will say move it down because it flies nock high).

And in.the end I got it!! I was suprised by the accuracy I got at 20 yards! I still got to learn properly how to shoot a longbow (barebow recurve is my main jam 😀) but my first impression is very positive!

The sound that bow makes sounds like my Bear Grizzly 45# recurve . I have string silencers on mine for hunting.

I know they are very light poundage.. but I like how they aren't hitting the bow and bending on release... I believe u call it archers peradox... Or something... I could be way wrong... And the arrows don't bend at all.. and the slow motion flight looks.. very good

30lbs for me is the sweet spot too. That's when Id like to shoot for a few hours or go on archery trails. Anything more than about 35lbs becomes grueling for long periods of practice.

I think it's time for another rating system change. Almost every bow you review is close to perfect. Maybe you should be more strict, or add a point more to bows that are really exceptional. Just a thought 😁 A good review in any case.

Armin you seem to have a ton of experience in testing bows. May I suggest 2 types of videos that I am missing in your channel? 1. Would be great to get a video about bow material. I see Fiberglass, bending Fiberglass, laminated bows, pure wood sticks.... Can you maybe compare longevity, weight, shooting speed, draw graphs.... 2. How about the bow of the year? Maybe even best Recurve, best hungarian, korean,.... The Oscars for bows from you? Something like that would help a lot making purchase decisions.

165f/s is top armin yes is very hard for cool shoots :( 25" draw near 35# :) is my max on my english longbow 78"= 1.98 meters but in if wood I thing the bow is strong=rue +++ , because 50# at 27" draw=allonge :) I had it custom made !!! for me by john minit wood come usa north some years 2013 :) I leave the string on it so the bow is strung to be more flexible :) BE CAREFUL never leave it in the sun it will break!!!!!!!! I lost 2 beautiful Turkish alibows :( bandaged in the sun to stick a grip = 2 circumflex accents :((((( one arm bends completely!!! here is your examination of the 3 arches enlightens me a lot thank you :)

Same design , those bows should stack at the same draw length, if the 40 lbs stacks at 28" the others should stack too , it's a matter of the string getting closer to the 90° angle with the limb .

He usually does not review the really bad ones, just gives notes to the bowmaker, usually... He talks about this in some of his videos... So many good bows,, so little time, there has to be a good reason to review one of the bad ones...

@@ArminHirmer I think you have to review a bow on the class it's in, you cannot rate a self-bow with a $1000 bow fairly, shooting build etc, etc So in there class, price to a degree you will get better or worse, so a stick with a string reviewed as a stick with a string me be as goods as that stick gets so it would be a 10/10 for that class.. Most reviews I've seen seem.very fair!
