I’m so impressed with your amazing channel! I’m from San Francisco, CA and grew up with so many Filipinos. I’m also a Muslim convert and my wife is Cham. I came to your channel through your excellent videos of Champa. But this one hit so close to home, especially at the end when you tied this powerful tragic history to the current genocide in Gaza. My close friends have lost over 100 family members! Thank you! ✊🇸🇩💚 🇵🇭

Bud Dajo massacre was literally undiscussed here in the Philippines (or the region where I'm in). The very first time I came across this was when I was reading about Mark Twain, not from our textbooks.

Bud daho is my birthplace and my parents parents parents born there and one of my ancestors was one of the victims.its true that it was Genocide by America that's why until today tausug never forget that and our ancestors wrote it in our own factual history.and this story passed throughout members of the family.

Salugai ta buhi dih ha dunya magkasilasa... Thank you for sharing this grim part of the history of the indigenous people of Mindanao, Kirby. I have seen information about this slaughter before, and I recall Pangulo Duterte mentioning it. My wife is indigenous (Higaonon from Bukidnon Mindanao), and it's true that the indigenous tribes suffered under the Spaniards, the Americans, the Japanese, and, sadly, under the government as well. All people want really is to live in peace on their ancestral lands and to retain their culture and language. Maayad tungkay, Kirby. Maayo gyud. Mabuti talaga.

I will try to go to Congress in the Philippines to Suggest that because yes we are pilipino but our first language was Spanish when Spaniard colonized us we should go back to Speaking espanol as our first language and English as a second language
@joserussbriones46727 ай бұрын
I have something for you to write if you want and that is if Filipino can obsolete every Dialect we have and only speak Spanish and English that mean take out the tagalog and all other Dialects of Filipino and only Speak Spanish and English a Language in the Philippines

i think the Battle of Bud Dajo is not forgotten, nasa history book yan ng elementary student nung 90s to 2000s FYI i seen it, ang problema lang diyan marami Filipino nangangrap manirahan sa US kapag pinaglaban ang Battle of Bud Dajo malamang baka mahirapan ka makakuha ng US Visa kaya marami nanahimik tungkol diyan .
