Returned from 7 magical days in Budapest. By watching your amazing videos prior to our trip we were able to plan our holiday and make a list of things we wanted to see and do. What an amazing city full of stunning architecture and beautiful scenery plus a public transport system to be proud of. Thank you for taking time to make and post these videos packed with advice and tips, we got so much more out of our holiday by watching them. Keep up the good work.

Your channel you have existed years ago. I lived in Budapest 2016-2018 and info about travelling in Hungary in English was very scarce! Good that I did enjoy different cities and towns there but with not much awareness of places and how to travel around. Hungary is such a magically beautiful country with kind people that I really miss dearly. Keep filming and I will keep enjoying your videos until the day I can get back :)) PS. I would appreciate it if you film places around Nyugati as I lived there (Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út ) with not much awareness as well.

If you want to spend time by the water, I suggest giving up the popular Széchenyi Fürdő and choosing Palatinus Strand on Margaret Island which is not far from the center. It's cheaper and, above all, less touristy and more local. There are several pools, with different water temperatures, and plenty of grassy space to put a blanket or towel. There are also plenty of sunbeds which are free. If you see one available, just take it. If you're with kids, there are some nice slides also. Food is reasonably priced and tasty.
@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures 4 ай бұрын
We literally went to Palatinus this weekend 😀 It is indeed a really nice place. There may be nothing fancy, but the water is nice, there is food, there's even thermal pools, and the slides and all of that for a fraction of the price of the famous baths. So yeah, it is a great alternative if someone doesnt want anything pretty, just chill in the water 😊

Hi! Thank you for discussing my question!!! :) I do want to add that it is better to not exchange money in the Budapest Keleti train station, as the commission is quite high (you would only get 350 HUF for 1 euro). But we went to a Ria exhange office in the city center and they offered a very good exchange rate! We really fell in love with Budapest and are going back next Monday for 6 days!

It would be GREAT to have a video about getting medical tests (blood tests, like allergy, thyroid, etc) done in Budapest for tourists. I am from the USA and will be utilizing one of the labs to get some tests done that my American health insurance won’t cover. The results will come back very quickly - and the lab said that they can also email them to me (in English). Just a suggestion for a future video - I’m sure that there is a lot of folks that would LOVE to learn more about the options, what labs have English speaking employees available, the costs, etc.

It’s good to know that you can pay virtually everywhere using your bank debit card in Hungary, and especially in Budapest. So there is little need for having cash on you. I usually draw some 1000 forint notes from a cash machine (always at a bank) and they will last my entire stay. Ákos, I have tried the Örség Zöld Aranya after watching your video about desserts. It was amazing! It’s my new favorite next to the classic Eszterházy cake.

Hey there! Stadium tours aren't really a thing here, and in case of Puskás Arena, tours occur here and there in case there is some sort of related event, but I couldn't find a regular occurring tour. Hey there! Was actually thinking about making a video eventually about useful apps 😊 Budapest Go is absolultey a must as its easy to plan your travels and get digital tickets/passes. I always recommend to have Google Translate app especially the picture translation feature. Happy cow app is useful for those who are looking for vegetarian/vegan places. @@LTinSoCal Bolt and Uber are the same here, but Uber is different vs USA Uber (but the app still works). Passenger Carrying like what Taxis do is regulated, so it's not a ride share. Foreign exchange: I would like to add that at some places, like airports and train stations the exchange rate is much worse than in the city. The best thing is to look at the difference between the buy and sell rate, if it is more than 5%, avoid it. For Euros and USDs often the buy/sell spread is only 2%. Avoid ATMs which are not bank owned, like Euronet, which often charge well over 10%, some people have even claimed 20% fee. Even if your bank claims that you can use your card overseas without any charge, it does not apply to these ATMs.

Hello from the US! I am arriving in Budapest on a river cruise August 23rd, (how hot will it be?!) and have about a day and a half to explore, what would you suggest being the must-see places in that short amount of time? Also, we were planning on going to the Sparty on Saturday night, you should meet us there! We are three travel agents and gathering information to pass on to our clients, I will share your channel with them. Are we saying Budapest incorrectly by saying PEST instead of how you pronounce it with a PESHT at the end? I want to use the name properly. Love your channel and information, happy to share it! Amy
@StuffedCabbageAdventures
@StuffedCabbageAdventures 3 ай бұрын
Hey there! Its difficult to say how hot it will be then, could be somewhere between 28-35 as it stands now and how it trends 😊 If you have limited time, I would say you should try to visit the Castle District (Palace building, get views of the danube river, visit the Matthiash Church and Fishermans Bastion), and also visit the downtown area with the Parliament building and the St Stephens Basilica. I have heard some ups and downs about the sparty in the Szechenyi Thermal bath, but I hope you'll have a good time there :) When pronouncing Budapest it's okay to pronounce in the english way as Pest, but if you show effort with the hungarian pronounciation of peSHt it will be appreciated (in hungary the "s" is pronounced SH and "sz" is pronounces S 😊) I hope you'll make some great memories here and can pass those to your clients in the end! Happy if you recommended our channel to them too 😊

Today I was watching people get on the bus - we haven't needed it yet ourselves - and I saw MANY people get on and not tap the outside of the bus with theri phone or validate a ticket when they got on. Actually, I only saw one person tap before boarding and I think they were a tourist like us. What's happening? Is it anything to do with St. Stephen's Day coming up? We're very confused and any clarification you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! There are paper based passes so those who have those will not tap or read qr codes. If the vehicle is front boarding only is when you need to show the ticket or pass to the driver. Hi Akos. Greeting from Ireland. Very informative videos that are helping me plan my upcoming Budapest trip. A 100E Bus question-At the airport, can you purchase a return ticket for this service or are only single tickets available? I checked the official BKK website and it said only single journey tickets are available. Then I checked various blogs/KZbin videos, etc. and was told I should buy a return 100E bus ticket to save money. I am inclined to believe the official website assuming the website content is up to date. Any advice would be welcome. John, Ireland

Hey there! There is no such thing as a return ticket. These do not run out as they are not bound to a specific departure time, neither are their cheaper bundle tickets for this. The only way to save money is to take the regular public transport (200E) to Kőbánya Kispest Subway station and take the subway from there to the city center, thats two single tickets (2x450=900 HUF). Thats a way to save money, travel time will be longer. 😊
