In Hungary it is called kurtos kalács. In the Czech Republic - trdelnik.

Exactly, but worth noting that even trdelnik is made in Slovakia by a Hungarian guy who modified the original Hungarian recipe. It has nothing to so with Czechs, Trdelnik is more of a Slovakian-Hungarian sweet.

No.. you may try.. but I always have a fear of glass breaking in the oven so I do not use it. you can also use wooden rolling pin. just might have to rotate it mid way around

Use about 2 tsp active dry yeast and make sure to activate it in milk before proceeding with the recipe
