I entered here to be able to listen to the Karmapa. and the one who spends talking is the translator (or the staff where the book was edited). I've been to many book presentations and the one who speaks to the public is the author of the book. The translator accompanies if necessary! Well, the Karmapa speaks English very well. The right thing was give the floor to the Karmapa

i wonder, why on earth would one want to cut off answers of the Karmapa leaving only translation? :)

Perhaps so that more people will listen to the end.

Maybe someone who did it speaks no other language than English and is frustrated by languages he/she doesn't understand and thinks that other people might be in the same position :D This decision contradicts the very title and idea of the book that is presented. How about respect and interconectedness. It is as if someone who speaks his/her own language doesn't deserve to be listened to, no matter, what wisdom she/he has to share, voice is given only to those who can interpret what was said. This attitude is very oldfashioned. It robs viewers of the possibility to listen both to the person and original answers. With HH Karmapa it is also important not only what HH says but also how he says it.If someone wanted to save time, they could leave answers and put subtitles in English. I believe all intentions were good. I also hope that watkinsbooks will put uncut version online :) I'm also grateful to Mitra Tyler Dewar who is most awesome interpreter of all

_"Maybe someone who did it speaks no other language than English and is frustrated by languages he/she doesn't understand and thinks that other people might be in the same position :D"_ Quite an arrogant assumption. I have studied Tibetan in Pullahari and used it for translations of original texts, so I entirely concur that for people like myself it would be desirable to hear the Tibetan original as well. But I would venture to say that not many youtube listeners are in the same position. The motivation asumed by you is really saying more about yourself than about Watkinsbooks. _" This decision contradicts the very title and idea of the book that is presented. How about respect and interconectedness."_ As someone who majored in (mathematical) logic I take issue with your false use of "contradicts" here since there is no such thing involved here with the title. Again, your words say more about you than about the object of your criticism. _"How about respect and interconectedness"_ [sic !] Please at least try to spell right. Again, your vile assumptions about Watkinsbooks' motivations put you in a bad position to criticize anyone over a lack of respect, to put it mildly. The motivation to keep it short is entirely plausible: for anyone lost by dropping out the original, there is many more being won by keeping it short. Plus those who can understand the Tibetan would hardly need these rather commonplace explanations since the internet is flooded with more in depth Tibetan teachings on whatever he speaks of here, and by OTD himself too. _"It is as if someone who speaks his/her own language doesn't deserve to be listened to..."_ This is entirely your projection and fantasy. _" I believe all intentions were good."_ At least you remember some sanity after already having done the damage. _"I also hope that watkinsbooks will put uncut version online"_ That's one thing we can agree on, but instead of your vulgar assumptions, why did you not simply ask Watkinsbooks to do so quitely.

:) I'm sorry if I sound arrogant or vulgar. That was not my intention. I'm sorry if my spelling irritates you. English is not my first language. My point was that even people do not understand Tibetan they may want to listen to answers and find them precious. To shorten talk by cutting off the talk itself - well, let's agree to disagree if this is appropriate :)

_" I'm sorry if I sound arrogant or vulgar."_ The problem was not the sound but the nature of your assumptions. It is nothing subjective on my side, it follows cogently from your own words. Equally: _" I'm sorry if my spelling irritates you."_ It's not my irritation, it is just its falseness. _" My point was that even people do not understand Tibetan they may want to listen to answers and find them precious."_ Nono, that point was answered by my first reply to you and that finished it. What then followed was an expression of your arrogant and vile assumptions about Watkinsbooks and your obvious lack of mental training.
