Buddies Flying Planes 4/14/24 - Flitetest Retro Rocket

Fun with Fatties
Pusher prop with thrust vector and two edf builds
Flying Ace Dell with the Pusher prop build used all the flight test gear
Captain Maurice and myself went with EDF builds and used Mercury 64mm 4700kv edf units with 4s 1800-2200mah packs. Great power and lighter weight than the flite test 70mm combo on 6s 2200mah.
Landing gear doesn’t work very well but with some reinforcements it’s useable.
The models fly great. Just getting them off the ground is a bit of a challenge.
Fun models but a lot of work to build and get in the air.

My sliver Retro Rocket EDF turned left, too. I had to re-adjust the nose wheel 5 times to get it to run straight!

Yeah, it takes a few tries to get to go straight and then rockets ,pebbles and divots can push it off course. It also requires a long roll out before you can let it take off or it will stall. Once in the air, it flies nicely and the rudder works great.
