I love Buddy’s playing. It’s so different to how the man himself seems. In every interview I ever see he seems so gentle and kind….yet every note he plays seems like he’s going to break note only the strings and the guitar but the whole music venue and everybody inside it! 🤣

For musicians music is not just a job it is a way of life. Buddy Guy told a story once when I saw him in concert his ex-wife told him you can have me or you can have your music you cant have both so he packed his suit case and guitar and said good by to married life that's how much his music means to him.

So often performers on stage practically beg the audience to join in, often to pathetic results. Here the audience joins in without any prompting and they join in at all the right places. Buddy has them eating out of his hand and loving it. A terrific performance!

One Gnarly, Nasty, Fever Pitch, Krypotonite guitar solo!!! I met him about 17 years ago at the first Buddy Guy's Legends when I lived in Chicago. He was just hangin' out near the pay phone "minding the store." Then I saw him perform Luly 4th, 2009 at Taste of Chicago. He was picking the strings with that rubber or soft plastic tip at the end of a drum stick.

Hendrix was wrong although I love him. Buddy isn't the best in anything but an incredible entertainer! I had the great honor to get backstage passes for a festival in '04. He was playing with Double Trouble. My wife's brother is Reese Wynans, former keys player for SRV. We got the whole limo treatment and sat on the stage. Buddy signed one of my Strats. He is so gracious and modest! A very fine person. We got along fine. I wrote the Whitehouse for the last 3 years and finally Buddy made it!
