The Blues Brothers was so much more than a movie. It was a showcase for some of the absolute best talent in the blues/funk/R&B world at the time. Not even mentioning the guest appearances in the movie, this band itself is a masterclass. Willie Hall on drums, Matt "Guitar" Murphy and Steve Cropper on guitars, Duck Dunn on bass, Lou Marini on saxophone, Tom Malone on trombone, Alan Rubin on trumpet, and George "Murphy" Dunne on keyboards. Beasts, all of them!

I can't help but wonder what some of the great Swing Band artists of the 1940's would have thought of this arrangement. It's not swing, not quite blues, not quite boogie-woogie, but there's a compelling beat to it that's hard to ignore. The way each instrument is featured throughout the nearly eight-minute-long song rivals even that of Benny Goodman's "Sing, Sing, Sing." This is a great driving song.

John Belushi was a good enough Blues singer to have done it professionally. He had a perfect voice for it, and the material they chose to cover was just brilliant and showed a deep knowledge of Blues and R&B. What began as a comedy wound up being one of the most important musical documents of the 20th Century!

Elwood Blues (Dan Akroyd) hosted a Radio Show radio 📻 titled The House of Blues. I love the way Blues Music pioneered Rock and Roll. Carl Perkins had a Blues Style Sound to his Rock and Roll/Country style sound which he is credited for coming up with the Rockabilly Sound. ZZ Top is a good group that likes to mix Blues in their Classic Rock Sound. Their hit La Grange is a very good example.

I wish I could get my video of downtown Chicago at 30 thousand feet on the clesr day. It would be so awesome to have it in thee replies. I picked up harp less than a year ago and I love to play this one play it in c or g do anything you want and can't sound bad. And the more I play with it i have learned all the different solos by the instruments. If I bplay the whole song begins to the end with every Solo I sm wore out of breath and get very very lightheaded and a buzz. Anyone want to have that video of Chitown be happy to see it be passed around the world on a mission from God!!?

I watch this movie all the way through if they put one frame of it on TV. I found myself in Calumet City once and had to stumble a bit drunk looking for some of the old locations of a film I loved more than my own childhood. Needless to say Ray was nowhere to be found, and no restaurant in Chicago would serve me 4 fried chickens and a coke. Fuck Oscar this is BEST PICTURE ever.

Just listened to Cab Calloway singing Minnie the Moocher at 73 years old. What a hoot. And a beautiful voice. This track is not as compelling but fits the movie well; it has so much to offer. I got interested in the movie again listening to Annie singing "Hold On. I'm Comin " with Steve Perry. I am just a little older than he is and started my marriage in Motown. So glad Steve got out of the rat race before it pulled him under.

This song is an absolute masterpiece. I absolutely love it. I play in my school band, and I play trombone and French Horn. I also play piano, but not in the band. I am trying to learn the trombone solo currently, and my goal is to get it sometime during freshman year, because I just graduated from 8th grade. I’ve already learned it on piano and I absolutely love it. The high school I am going to is known for having an amazing band, and their jazz band is made up of some of their best player. I’m going to try and convince the director to have the jazz band play this.
