I can’t believe someone would neglect a guinea pig. I used to have 2 but my parents were deathly allergic and had a anaphylaxis shock and had to go to the hospital. We had to surrender them and it was so sad. I miss them so much especially when I let them roam and they crawled all over me. I also missed when I walked up to there cage with lettuce and they squeaked. It’s so sad. At least I actually took care of them and gave them back to the rescue instead of neglecting them. I miss them so much😭

These sweet creatures have been in my life since I was 12 and I begged my parents for one. It’s sad that their life span isn’t long and my mom would always say to why do you keep buying more when one passes. I simply told her that the love and comfort they give means so much to me. I am going to be 50 this year and we have 3 piggies. I have never spent a day without one, my house is not a home without them. Thank you so much for this video and the others as well. You have taught me so much. I wish there was a piggy rescue near me, I would definitely volunteer. ❤️ Thank you for all you do for these babies, these critters saved my life, especially when I was younger. Lots of anxiety and depression 😞

No one mentions it ever. I first heard the other day that you needed to "clean" them but never having one myself whatever word they used once made no sense to me and the second time they obviously said they needed to clean the bottom of boars. Like with a male rabbit you just have their penis, testicles if they're not nutered, the anus and the anal gland which the only thing you need cleaned if it isn't already is the gland itself.

I had a male piggie, sweet little guy, long hair that looked like a punk rocker, he like being brushed and combed, never got attitude except when I had to brush/comb/trim the hair in his nether region to prevent matts, had to trim a matt one time and that was all it took

This is neglect. Every once in a while you wipe them down to get any residue and such off that area but otherwise if you are a decent owner and attentive, this won't happen

Me and my dad rescued and now home 3 guineas. A pet shelter contacted us and asked if we could help them since we had nursed a dog a few months back from them. When we got the pigs they were in horrible shape when we got them. They all had the same fungus in the mouth and one of them had a few broken bones. Now they are all in GREAT health and happy. This made me so happy that you guys are helping👏🏼.

21:40 I teared up so badly cause his eyes looked like they were glistening and I felt so horrible someone let him get to that shape and I felt a surge of appreciation and compassion towards Saskia and her willingness to help all these piggies in need. I have four guinea pigs right now and I've been watching your videos cause I am determined to be the best guinea pig momma ever to my babies. I spoil them like crazy. I never want to even think about me giving them less than the best. I will hold my guineas closer to my heart from now on and cherish that I am able to give them a happy loving home. Poor Buddy !! He's cooperating great. So many "owners" don't do the details, and that is so important. And cages that are too small, with little freedom times is sad, too. The condition/build up in the "business" was a shock - does the guinea fix that for themselves?? How'd that get so bad? Is that something their humans can watch for or is a Vet visit need to be done ? Thanks ! I've a new appreciation of the care needed and thanks for what you're doing for all the GP;s !
