It's really nice to see new brands pop up in the barefoot space providing different styles and pricepoints so more people can enjoy them. What i like about barefoot shoes is that they teach me what movement the body likes. I had a pretty big heelstrike, both while running and walking. Since getting my first pair i've started running with proper form and taking a bit shorter strides while walking to reduce the impact. Now i feel more active when walking and running and my knees, hips and back feel way better than they used to.

Washable, stretchy uppers, and biodegradable, for under $80 seems like a good deal. I bought the grey, but think all four colors look nice, and just wish there was a blue. I am looking forward the side lace, but I am middle aged, and tend to with my foot resting on the opposite knee, so it goes where I my knot tends to land anyway.

Hy John, the washable, stretchy uppers and biodegradable features are impressive, especially for the price. Grey is versatile, but a blue option would be nice. How do you feel about the comfort and fit so far, and do they meet your expectations in terms of ground feel and style? The asymmetric lacing might suit you perfectly, but it's easy to fix by crossing the laces over the loop in the centre of the tongue, as suggested by community members if it's not to your liking.

It has been 1 year since I started my barefoot shoe journey and more recently I have begun focusing on foot health and foot strength. I have had to rewire my brain into changing how I view modern footwear and how most are incompatible with my feet. I have had some ups and downs with transitioning but I am now at a place where wearing barefoot shoes are most comfortable. The Lono Flows look quite nice and they seem to be at a good price point in the barefoot market. It is a shame the Flow green colour does not come in my size but the white or gray ones look good too.

I own 2 horses and I stopped using restrictive steel shoes on them 24 years ago. I am not rich because I keep horses, I am poor because of them. 3 months ago one of the horses stamped on my foot and broke 2 toes. I am struggliing to rehab my foot and a barefoot shoee would really help me, although I wouldnt wear it around the horses !

@@OwenJackson Yes, sir. Got KSO Evo, which I use for trail running. Very minimalistic. Also, more budget Saguaro, mainly for walking around. 1 year since I started in barefoot shoes, still transitioning. Longest distance I've run is 10 km. Feel less pain in knees and hips.

It's great that the toe cap covers a wide area, preventing premature wear on the knitted mesh upper. How do you plan to use your new shoes the most?

In a UK 6 they say size 40, but it’s usually 39 (and that’s what my measurement suggests will be right 🤞🏻). I’m after a shoe to live in- work in a gym, CrossFit, wear out the kids, pound the pavement. I had vivo lites last summer I loved the feel but wore out the sole quickly. Merrel vapour trail good but now also worn out. Do you have any feeling about the durability of the sole of Lono compared to vivo?

So far the sole is good with no signs of degradation. They are a little thicker than Primus Lites, so what you lose in connection, you’ll gain in longevity

Hey James, I find the Primus Lite slightly wider. The LONO shoes have a great barefoot shape but come with a little more padding, so the overall room for the foot feels slightly less. However, I still opted for the same size as my Vivos and found them similar sizing, but not identical. Like the look of these, think I would go grey. Regarding the laces have you tried just crossing the laces over through that top loop e.g. as you would for the first part of a bow, just that this would be under the top loop . . . if that makes sense? I even have my brother involved! But he's finding sizing difficult and resorted back to squished toe fits all approach on ordinary trainers for now As for these, it's mainly the appearance. They're quite sleek looking and the knit material definitely helps with it not looking like a giant shiny clown show. Also the offset lacing is +2 fashion points as well

Hey Evans-Claude, thanks for watching mate. Yes, I opted for the same size as I would in Vivo shoes. In comparison, the Primus Lite, and especially the Lite Knit, tend to have a bit more room when you choose the same size compared to the LONO FLOW. I wear trainer socks or go sock-less, the LONO feels great for my foot size and shape. However, with thicker socks like STANCE, I prefer removing the insole to give myself a bit of extra room. I prefer a slightly roomy shoe overall. ​@@OwenJackson There are a couple of red flags on their website: 1. The biodegradable materials they claim to use (GONETECH, GONEyarn, GONEfoam, GONEsole) do not appear to exist. A search on Google and Google Scholar yields no results. 2. The quality of graph 2b is poor and its sources are unknown. Who conducted these tests? How were they conducted? What exactly was tested? This might be an oversight on their part, but claims like these need to be better supported/more transparent.

The only thing with these things is they look horrible compared to vivos.

What aspects of the Vivobarefoot design do you prefer over the LONO barefoot shoe? What are your current favourite vivo model?

@@OwenJackson I've several pairs, magna daily, I've the waterproof walking boots and I've the flynit for warmer weather. The over all design of vivo is much nicer. These lono look like something from a cheap shop. I hate they have side lacing and the mono olours are bland. I 100% wouldn't buy these.
